Beautiful and fun but not for under 3

I love these and so do my daughter. Brown bear brown bear is her fav book. However she does chew on them and the paper comes off. So ... I guess they will be saved for later. I'm editing this to say outright that they say that this magnet is for 3+ years. I'm in no way being negative. They know their product and they are right. Definitely not for 3 and under.

Beautiful and beautifully made

We love the Eric Carle books and illustrations, and these magnets are GORGEOUS all over our fridge. NO child in our family can walk into our kitchen without wanting to play with them. They are more vibrant and joyful than we could have imagined, and there are SO MANY of them. They are beautiful. All sorts of beautiful animals, each their own little colorful work of art. I am smitten. We both an animal set of magnets from another popular brand, but they stay in the box because these are just stunning -- for adults and children alike to enjoy.

Beautiful, high quality magnet set

Love these. They are high quality and beautiful. I really appreciate that the magnet covers the whole back of each, so there is no chance of my toddler picking the magnet off the wood and swallowing / choking (as has nearly happened with several other, cheaper magnets). While these are obviously kid-themed, I think Carle's illustrations are beautiful and I'd much rather have them "decorating" my kitchen than some plastic cartoon magnets. Plus, my son likes that he recognizes the animals from his books.

Unique but some pieces are very small

These are adorable and are a nice alternative to plastic magnets. I have them on the fridge now but will move them to a magnetic easel once i get one. Take note that a few pieces are very small, the chili pepper was lost down the heating vent. A few other small ones should be removed if your child is under 3. It's too tempting for kids to put play food in their mouths! But the majority are a pretty safe size.

Fruit & Vegetable Fun

First off a correction needs to be made in the product description. It says "Forty 1-3/4" tall wooden pieces per set". This is incorrect, there are 35 pieces in this set (even says so on the back of the box, see uploaded image). Also the sizes vary depending on which fruit or veggie is portrayed, from small pieces like the strawberry at 1-1/8"x1-5/8" or chili pepper at 2-1/4"x5/8" to the largest, the pineapple, at 3-1/2"x1-3/4". Now that being said, this is a great set. The pieces are well built of high density plywood with a full magnetic sheet back and fully laminated surface picture. They should hold up well to normal use although I wouldn't suggest them for little ones who still put things in their mouths. There is a great selection of fruits and veggies. In fact, without a full description of the contents of the package, I had originally looked at the silhouette design on the side of the package and thought there would be repeat pieces. This is not the case; there are 35 different fruits and veggies which I've listed below. Even though I bought the set with repeats in mind to use for a matching game I am very pleased to have the larger selection instead and now I am ordering another set. these are just wonderful! i am a professional graphic designer and illustrator, and therefore have high standards for products like this. with many years experience in the printing industry as well, i am also very particular about printing/production quality. these are beautifully illustrated and very well made. excellent quality. the images are so great, i wish they showed more of them on the product listing. if it is helpful to anyone, here is what came in our shipment (not sure if they are all the same or if they vary by shipment) : farmer, tractor, goose, duck, adult cow (brown), adult cow (gray), baby cow (brown), donkey, running horse (spotted gray), adult horse (brown), baby horse (brown), adult dog (brown), 2 puppies (one magnet) brown, adult rabbit (gray), 2 baby rabbits (one magnet), gray, adult sheep (white), baby sheep (gray), goat (gray), rooster, hen, 3 baby chicks (one magnet) yellow, adult pig (pink), 2 baby pigs (one magnet) pink, adult cat (gray), 3 kittens in a basket (one magnet) glue, gray, brown, corn (3 stalks, one magnet), carrots (4, one magnet), basket of apples, bales of hay (3, one magnet), seed bag with 3 gray mice (breaking into / eating the seed). this whole set is just adorable!!! recommend!

Great kitchen fun!

So cute! My 1 year old daugher loves to play with them on the refrigerator while we're in the kitchen talking about food. Important note: Since she's under the recommended product age I had to only let her play with the largest pieces. I'll wait until she's older to handle the smaller pieces.

Love them!

I go these magnets for my toddler -- he's 13 months old but he doesn't put everything in his mouth, so I gave these a try. We love them! The shapes are smaller than expected, but it turns out, they are perfect for my son's little hands. The colors and pictures are just beautiful. They are great quality and I can see them lasting a long time. Even though the magnet is not as strong as I would like, they stick to the board just fine and my son can remove them with no problem. An unexpected bonus: the box has two snaps on the top so you can store the magnets in there. All around happy with these. I will get more as gifts and will look for other Eric Carle magnets

Nice quality magnets!

These magnets come packaged very well in a nice box that is shaped like a 1/2 gallon milk container. The illustrations on the magnets are very nice as well, they have almost a retro feel to them. They vary in size from an inch to 2 and a half inches, and stick very well to our magnet board. Although the images are glued onto the magnet they have held up remarkably well, (one has a nick on the side from being chewed on). My children enjoy setting up and acting out stories. They have proven to be worth the money.

21 month old LOVES these.

My daughter does put them in her mouth to "taste" them and they haven't peeled or anything. She loves her food and now she can point out what she wants and is learning the names of healthy food. We haven't had any issue with the magnet not sticking like some others have noted. This product is AWESOME and I definitely recommend it!
