I'm buying another one for my grandson's Kindle
I've had this since 2011 and used it for many unexpected things. Of course, it's great as a book light for my Kindle, although I don't read in the dark much any more. It used to live on the bookcase to use like a flashlight finding CD's or book titles. I used it with a magnifying glass for coin collecting. I used it when cleaning the dog's ears. He'd lay on his side on the couch, and I'd clip the light to the edge of the afghan and direct it so I could see. (A couple years ago, my wife gave me a head lamp that works even better.) More recently, I clip it to the toilet seat to illuminate the target during those nocturnal visits, improving aim without blinding me with bathroom lights. I'm very impressed with the build quality of this light. It works as well now as when new. I truly love proven durability. Batteries last a long time because LED's use so little power. I really haven't used the optional plug-in power adapter because portability is key. The goose neck is still sturdy and the switch still works. The rubberized grip pads have stayed unpetrified and spring tension is still good.

Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Blue (Teal) - good for many uses, not just books
I was looking for a small, low-cost led light with very bright white light that is energy efficient and doesn't give off much heat, to use as a terrarium light / supplemental light for my air plants (tillandsias). I came across this one by the "Mighty Bright" brand, and having had a previous book light by that same brand which I liked, I thought this light would suit my purpose. It has two bright white LEDs, of which the click-style button on the light head can have both on (super bright), one on (less bright), or all off. The gooseneck head can be bent and adjusted to suit the user's needs. The clip can accommodate thickness of aprox. 1/2 inch - 1 inch, give or take, but I just stood it on its flat base like a lamp. User can choose to power the light with the included 3x AAA batteries, or purchase separately the proprietary AC adapter by the same "Mighty Bright" brand. In my case, I did buy the proprietary AC adapter because I didn't want to use batteries. The color of the plastic base and head is more of a teal color, not exactly blue, but I prefer the teal color. The emitted light from the LEDs is a bright steady white. So far so good, my air plant terrarium looks great with this light; picture provided is with the brightest setting (both LEDs on).

This Mighty Bright Is Very Handy!:^)
Honestly, we just received this product the other day, so we haven't used it yet like we normally will, but we owned an older model (the switch was different) for years and years, and we loved it! In fact, I believe I left it in a Hotel room. Ouch! I have done a ton of all kinds of reading with the old one, and it was great for that! We travel several times per year staying in Hotels, and it's great for getting up in the middle of the night to use the restroom without turning on bright lights and waking anyone up. When I lost "mine", my wife wanted me to purchase another one. We waited for the price to come down, and it did. The old one only had one led, this has two. The old one had an on/off switch, where as this one has a button you push for high, low, and off. I love it, and I'm sure it will last for years, and I am determined to not leave it out in the open, or forget it in the Hotel room. Did a maid take it, I don't know. I just know I arrived home, unpacked by bags, and several days later, it wasn't where I usually place it. Gone! I digress, but can you tell I love it? Ha Ha! Still takes 3 AAA batteries, and they last a long time. Love the product!

Perfect if you fall asleep while reading at night!
I am very happy with this thoughtfully designed book light. The plastic clip is a little bulky as its base houses the batteries (two AAA) but it offers good tension and does stay in place. When reading at night in bed (laying on my side) I clip the light onto the back cover of my book near the center of the book at the spine/binding. If it's not a hardback I just include several pages at the back of book along with the cover in the clip and the clip stays in place. The light is very bright and lights both open pages. The lamp head is easily adjusted and stays where I put it. Because I often fall asleep while reading, the auto shut-off option/feature was very important. It blinks a '1-minute warning' so if I am awake I can add more reading time simply by pressing a small button on back of lamp head -- 1 click for each additional 15 minute up to 3 clicks/45 min. A small light is illuminated for each click so at a glance I can see how much 'timer-time" there is. The timer is an option, and the light can be turned on/off using similar button switch on lamp head. There is also a master off/on switch on the clip (where the batteries are located.)

The best reading light
I've been using these lights for years. They are great for reading in bed without disturbing your bedmate. The best for that purpose that I've found, and I've been through lots of reading lights over many decades. I ordered this one after my old one finally started to wear out at the switch. Because I use an eReader with a built in light to read by now, I use my mighty bright differently. I keep it clipped to the headboard and use it as I'm getting into bed and getting settled, without turning on a big light. It keeps me from squashing the cat as I climb into bed. My husband keeps a mighty bright clipped to a curtain and he uses it to peer into a dark closet in his bedroom office. They are great, lightweight, bright lights and I hope they make them forever.

Only 5 stars because I can't give it 10 stars
This light is an engineering masterpiece. It is the perfect solution for lighting up my laptop keyboard. I've also begun using it for the few books I read that aren't on Kindle, including one on keeping produce fresh. Like other reviewers, I've already ordered a second one and can see ordering more, in black or other colors, for other uses and especially, for holiday gifts. LATEST DISCOVERY: I didn't realize why the clip worked so very well. It's because it has small, soft rubber pads inside the mouth of the clip, which ensure even better grip without so much pressure. It clips onto various places on my laptop or sits with the tiniest footprint on its stable base (because of the battery weight), right up against the keyboard. The three light settings are more than enough to light up my 17-inch keyboard without glare and with its tiny head and thin flex neck, it's easy to position the device so as not to block your field of vision to the screen. To sum it up, this light gets top marks on the overall design, the clamp, the base, the neck, the soft and sure light switch, the lighting in either light mode and its general very low profile. I would pay $20 or $25 for a Mighty Bright without blinking an eye. I believe what Amazon buyers are all benefiting greatly from is very low prices based on mass sales generated by listing beneath the great Amazon name. Additional info: This light replaces an excellent, but quite bulky light I've used on my laptop keyboard, SE FL89020L 20 LED Silver Lamp Light, for $9.17 on Prime. I'll find other uses for the FL89020L, including duty holding down a tent flap in a gale. I will also include my stock comment about batteries: All batteries, including button style, are so affordable now with Amazon as not to be a factor in the vast majority of battery powered gadgets. When you can get five Sony button batteries on Amazon prime for $3.18 total, cost is no longer an issue, IMHO. **May come back later and update. I've ordered over 100 items in the last 3-4 years on Amazon and would rate this light in the top 5 products overall. Amazing.

many fantastic points
I've been using this for nearly 2 years for paperback, hardcover, and Kindle classic (unlit) reading almost every single day. I also use it for extra light while I am crocheting. It has not let me down once. The most common reasons I've been disappointed with other book lights I've used: The LEDs die way too early, the batteries die too quickly, and usually, the neck isn't bendy enough for the perfect fit (or it just breaks from being moved too often). This hasn't had any of those problems. - Bright, with two brightness level options - Light is enough for a large book - Can sit free-standing on a flat surface without being clipped - Neck is super adjustable, doesn't lose flexibility over time - Neck is relatively long - Can open clip pretty wide for large books and tables/desks/etc - Clip is padded so it won't damage anything - Relatively lightweight (batteries are heaviest part) - Battery life is good, better than most - Can buy an optional AC adapter for it to use without batteries! - Long-lasting quality, at least for the two years I've been using it so far... I'll update when something finally goes wrong ;) - Overall, really happy with it and I recommend the brand to anyone who asks.

Best Book Light I've Had in 25 years!
Bought this for my daughter to take to camp and she loved it! It takes 3 AAA batteries, which are included. When I packed it for camp I turned one of the batteries around so it wouldn't accidentally turn on and run down. She used it at camp nightly for 2 weeks and it never went dim. She loved the flexible neck so she could position it exactly as she needed. The light was a nice bright white, making it easy to see the print on the page. The clip was sturdy and stayed in place on the book. She also use it for her tablet to give her some extra light and it clips on easy and doesn't interfere with anything she's doing. And because it's lightweight it's still comfortable whether she's using it on her book or tablet. Since she didn't have a side table light at camp she used it kind of as a regular lamp, too. It wasn't very bright but just enough for what she needed. It was also better than her flashlight at times because she could clip it to herself and be hands-free. A multi-tasker! Over the past 25 years I've gone through many iterations of the book light and this is the best so far. And to add it it's great features is the ability to buy it in a variety of fun colors. Finally a book light that works that's not black (unless that's what you want!)

Not just a book light!
All the prices for needle point lighting costs 3 times this little light does. The clip fits perfectly and is light weight! I'm very happy with it!!

Fantastic, buy this (not the LuminoLight)
I purchased both this and the LuminoLite Rechargeable Extra-Bright 4 LED Book Light, Easy Clip On Reading Light, USB Cable & UL Certified AC Charger Included, 2 Brightness Settings, Soft Padded Clamp. Perfect for Bookworms to compare them -- the product listings look so similar, and I figured it wouldn't hurt to have one as a backup. Well it turns out this Mighty Bright is way better. They're the same brightness and the same form factor, but the LuminoLight doesn't cast an even light -- it's strong in the center and fades quickly to the edges. While this Mighty Bright is even all around. And that really makes a huge difference -- much easier to read on the page. (Besides that, the LuminoLight is made of a glossy plastic that feels a bit cheaper, whereas this Mighty Bright is a matte plastic that feels and looks a bit nicer.)
