Since the dawn of time, man has asked himself the question, "How can I hold this thing to this thing whilst the sticky stuff I applied to these two things to get them to hold together dries?" Until Mr. Phillip Von Jorgensen came along, man would have to hold those two things together by hand until they dried. But Mr. Von Jorgenson didn't have time to be sitting around, holding things, waiting for stuff to dry. No, Mr. Von Jorgenson had a vision. And this is the result of that vision. He saw a problem, and he solved it. I'd like to think that he was eating some soup at the time, and the idea for this clamp hit him. A giant lightbulb appeared over his head. (or perhaps a candle, depending on the era in which Mr. Von Jorgenson lived... I'm not good at history and stuff.) He ran outside to his neighbor, who we will call Augustus, who was sitting on a rock holding two sticky pieces of wood together. He slapped those sticky boards out of his chubby little hands and screamed, "Augustus, I've got it!" Augustus, thinking Phillip had just eaten some berries that went bad, ran inside and grabbed his rifle. However, the rifle didn't work, which was why he was outside trying to glue the stock back together. Did I mention it was the stock that he was gluing? Well it was. Long story short, this clamp works well. It holds stuff, which is what I want in a clamp. If you want to hold stuff, buy this clamp. Or don't, it's not like I own any shares in the company or anything.

As we all know there is a tool for every job and a clamp for almost every job as well. When working with wood or steel, the ol' Jorgensen is the clamp you go to. I've used these in shops for years and now I've finally bought my first personal one. I can't wait to weather it! If you weld steel framing for any reason Jorgensen's are some of the best clamps you can have in your personal arsenal. They provide great heat resistance when clamped near weld joints and if clamped far enough away- can be used near torch cuts.

I needed this for the new router table that I am building, using the Incra LS Wonder fence system

nothing like a jorgesen, spend the extra and get the best.

We have 26 of these clamps in various sizes. My husband has been making mission furniture for over 30 years and has owned his own furniture business. He swears by these and would not even consider another clamp manufacture of this type. There is other clamps on the market that look like Jorgensen but they just dont compare in quality. Don't get me wrong ... you still need dozens of other clamps (bar,C,corner, etc.) but for daily use and good control this is a great clamp. [....]

This is a one sturdy heady duty clamp that any woodworker should have a few. I love them. Home Depot currently has a sale on these

This is a clamp for those situations where no other clamp seems to work. I have four, of different sizes. It's a great aid to one's woodworking skills.

Larger than I expected. It was as advertised.

Wood clamp that works, holds securely without marring work. Bigger than it looks, impeccably made in USA.
