This knife is incredibly sharp and powerful. I mainly use it to slice onions and potatoes, and this knife slices them as if they're butter. One day the knife blade gently touched my finger while chopping an onion and the ensuing bleeding made me realize just how sharp and potent this knife is. The knife is also firm and strong to handle and doesn't shake or bend while chopping.

After I broke my fingers and was left with a hand that can no longer grip as tightly, I bought this knife to replace my too-skinny-handled serrated bread knife. I love this knife with its big bulbous handle. It is super sharp and slices through bread, tomatoes as if they were soft butter. It cuts through the crustiest of breads without fear of it sliding off the crust and cutting the counter or my other hand as I had done with my old knife. If it gets dull in a year and can't be sharpened, who cares -- I'll just buy another as the price is so low. Is it attractive? Nope. But it WORKS.

This should come with every bread machine. It works beautifully. The first time I used it, I was slicing bread just after breakfast to take to a covered dish lunch and was in a hurry. It was slicing without smashing and doing a great job. However, when I got close to the end, I didn't move my finger far enough back and before I knew, there was blood everywhere. The knife is so sharp there was never much pain, but the cut was deep enough that when I removed the bandage after lunch, I left a bloody trail all the way to the restroom. The knife is excellent for slicing bread, but watch where your fingers are on the back side of the loaf or get some kind of hands-free slicing guide. I would definitely keep this for grown-up use.

Be careful, this knife is very sharp right from the package. If you have the bad habit of cutting toward yourself -- as I used to before I bought this knife -- you may pick up a few cuts and nicks. For a "Good Grips" knife, the handle could be fatter; but it's comfortable and slip resistant. The balance is also okay; and the point does surprisingly well on fruit and vegetables considering it's shape. The serrated edge goes through fruit and vegetables with little force or sawing back and forth. At the current Prime price of around $10, it's a good buy.

A food blogger mentioned that this was his new favorite knife, so I figured what the heck, I'll give it a try. WOWZA! It is really nice. The serrated blade is VERY sharp and cuts through food easily. I love it for slicing tomatoes because it slips right through the skin. For cutting raw chicken, it's a dream and slices right through the skin. It makes quick work of anything I've used it on so far. The only drawback, it's not dishwasher safe. I'm not sure why that is, but it's on the package. Oh, and if I'm not careful, it will slice into my cutting board and leave deep marks. Slice easily and it's not a problem.

I bought this for my 5 year old. She loves to cook but will only chop vegetables with my 3.5 inch paring knife. Not the safest option. I have been looking at children's chef knives and they are all low quality so I chose this one (of similar low quality) marketed for adults. It's lightweight and small with a grippy, rubberized handle. The blade is short so it's not as intimidating as the knives in my collection. It will be an adequate training tool. When she's older I will give her my grandmother's chef's knife as my mother did for me. I would not use this as my main knife or even as a backup picnic knife but it will work until my kiddo is confident enough for a real knife. We'll see if it can hold an edge. Five stars because the quality is as you would expect for an 8 dollar knife so I can't complain. You wouldn't be considering this purchase if you were looking to buy a serious kitchen tool.

Solid bread knife for the price of 10 bucks! Tried to find the same knife in store at BBB to use coupons but Amazon delivered so opted for that instead. Can't imagine buying a more expensive knife for such a simple job of just cutting bread. Initially I wanted a Victornix to match my chef knife but the cost was 3 times more compared to this. Worth it for the price!

Great knife! Very sharp and cuts through the toughest crust! It can cut very thin slices, too! It can also cut through frozen bagels. I order bagels from Zabar's and freeze them so they stay fresh. It's great to have a knife that can cut them without have to defrost them first.

Delivery on time. Packaged well. Was even better quality than I expected for the price, very good value best read life I’ve ever had very sharp I make my own bread and the other lives of coarse terret this one works great I don’t think I’ll need another one for a long time but I intend to give them as gifts when I see the need

I've cut my thumb 2 times with this with little force. Yes, it's that sharp and that's why I'm giving it a 5 star review. I love this knife, I use it almost everyday. I don't use it for chopping for recipes, I use it mainly for cutting sandwiches, opening packages, cutting up fruit, stuff like that. I highly recommend this product, I have another OXO Utility knife that I use regularly too (it has a different tip). Great deal too.
