There is no better steel (reasonably priced-wise) than German steel, when it comes to drill bits. The bits bite first thing and don't walk around much using a REGULAR drill, but with a hammer drill (Non SDS application) these things will go through the hardest concrete like it's nothing. I've drilled hundreds of 3/16 and 1/4 inch holes (for mounting clocks and hooks) and these things do not stop.

I needed to pick up a new set of mason bit's due to losing them at job sites. I'm really happy with these, I've had some cheaper chinesium mason bits in the past that just chip and don't make clean accurate holes. Been really happy with these so far, holes are clean & chews through most masonry applications with ease. Pro's: Strong, clean holes, easy to drill Con's: None Yet

I have not had great success in using masonry drill bits. Most that I have bought have worn out very quickly. So, I purchased these with strong doubt that they would last. However, I am pleased to say that I was wrong. I have been very satisfied with the durability of these bits and would recommend them to anyone that has the need to drill into masonry.

DEWALT DW5207 7-Piece Premium Percussion Masonry Drill Bit Set I found these bits to be far superior to other bits, including other manufacturers' carbide bits. It made easy work of drilling through brick with a lightweight percussion drill motor...

Great set. Only thing missing was the 1/8" I often use for a pilot hole. Worked great on freshly plastered lathe over plaster and cinder block walls. Still going strong after 50 some holes (use of anchors and screws with picture hangers and right angle hooks into anchors for hanging pots and pans etc.). Liked the variety and lengths as in some cases I needed the full length of the drill bit. Slow and steady and the holes were perfect. Nice snug fit for anchors. Wish they made the packaging friendlier for opening and reusing, but an Exacto worked fine to open for easier removal and storage. Must be an anti-theft thingy.

I have had set of masonry bits for a number of years and used them to install a couple hose reels on brick with my Bosch 18v hammer drill. Takes about 25 minutes to drill a 3/8" by 2 3/4" deep hole. When my daughter asked me to install one on her brick wall I cringed and decided it might be time to invest in a new set of masonry bits. I bought these and headed to her house. I layed the reel holes out on the bricks and decided to drill a 1/8" inch pilot hole for each of the 4 holes. Took 2 seconds per hole. I put the 5/16" drill in and finished the 4 holes in less than 20 seconds. I was, and still am, amazed. Buy these, they are amazing! I wish I had bought them 20 years ago. These are made in Germany.

I have been using the Dewalt masonry drill bits (Dewalt Rock Carbide 7 piece set) and they are going strong after several uses on hard masonry. I think they are a great value and go through masonry cleanly and work great. The selection of sizes for a 1/2 inch drill are really useful. Bits go from 3/16" to 1/2".

Was having a hard time drilling through some concrete and i picked these up for a pretty fair price. i had some new bits from lowes, cant remember the brand but these were night and day. what took my hours the day before took me 5 min with these.

Came as described and worked well. I bought them to drill through ceramic pots to make drainage holes for planting flowers and the last hole drilled as easy as the first with no chipping or cracking. Good quality items that have stood up to fairly light use.

Used these bits in a standard drill (not a hammer drill) and they cut through brick mortar like butter. Not sure how they would fare with tougher materials but they met my needs.
