Mrs. Anderson's Baking Pie Crust Protector Shield, Fits 9.5-Inch and 10-Inch Pie Plates ...Finally no burnt pie crusts...Worked great on a 10" deep dish pie pan heaped VERY high with apple pie filling...Shoulda had this years ago...

I had given my daughter my origianal Mrs Anderson's shield years back after the adjustable one she had ended up in the trash and used it at Thanksgiving at her house this year. It's just easy to use and does a great job protecting the crust on that 9" pumpkin pie. I bought another one for myself. It's inexpensive and just works. Even though I will probably only use it at Thanksgiving for the pumpkin it's kind of essential as those pies have to bake for so long. No more messing with aluminum foil falling off!

This product has worked well for all of my pie pans I’ve tried it on thus far (they are all 9”-10”). I would recommend letting the pie cool before removing the crust shield if it’s a double crusted pie. I would also recommend decreasing your pie filling for pumpkin pies when using the shield. When my pumpkin pies rose, the filling stuck to the crust shields. When I removed the crust shields, large chunks of HOT pumpkin filling came up/off as well. All in all, I am satisfied with this product and will be purchasing more!

I have been using adjustable silicone pie shields and they are such a pain so I decided to buy this one and I will never, EVER go back! This one is so easy to use and fits perfectly over my favorite pie plate - the silicone ones are just a touch too small and fall off. As an added bonus I use this as a guide to cut my top crust to the perfect size and shape for the pie! I LOVE it! No burnt crusts here!

I enjoy baking pies, but the edge of the pie crust would always be very hard compared to the rest of pie. The packaged pie crust that I buy suggests covering the edge of the pie with aluminum foil. After trying this and becoming extremely frustrated every time, I was determined to find a better way. Without even knowing that such a thing existed, I came to Amazon.com and searched for a pie crust shield. To my surprise, they did exist and I could buy one from Amazon. Since buying this product, I have used it every time I needed to bake a pie and they have all come out great. It is much easier than using foil and produces more consistent results. At first glance, it seem kind of flimsy, but it performs well. Just be careful where you store it, because it could easily get bent out of shape if something heavy were set on top of it.

I use both aluminum & silicone crust protectors on my pies, but find these to be the absolute easiest and best to use. Excellent product.

These pie shields fit my 9" pans even with decorative pie dough shapes around edges. Light enough to not smash the designs and no burnt edges on any of my pies. The protective part is nice and wide to protect my whole design and still plenty of room for center of pie to expand if needed. I put easily set these on the pies after about 15 minutes of baking and they worked great.

I was weary of creating foil wraps to protect my pie crust edges from over browning. After reading the reviews here I chose the 10" and happy that I purchased the larger size. It’s more adaptable to my needs. I have used it twice so far with good results although both times it was not a 2 crust project. Used once to cover the 9" tart ring I had just purchased and my corning ware 10" quiche pan while baking a quiche. I blind baked both of these crusts so over-browning was a concern. I measured and it will fit my 9 3/4" Pyrex pie plates. If you use aluminum disposable it might need to have some foil strips attached for better coverage. I will update after I use a 2 crust pie for performance in the same Pyrex pie plate that I used last fall when my daughter-in-law told me my pie looked like it came out of a magazine photo. That was foil wrapped but did I work at keeping the foil attached without slipping off when I checked on the pie baking in progress. I think heavy duty foil is easier to form than the regular I used.

I love these ! They are so easy- just place on the crust and it’s done! They protect the crust very well. I can’t bekeive I didn’t get these sooner!

It arrived in time for me to use it for a one crust pie.....perfect for keeping the edges from getting burned. It was really easy to use and cleaned up well after I used it....can't believe I haven't ordered one of these before now. I highly recommend the Mrs. Anderson's Baking Pie Crust Shield.
