Outside Lock

I bought this for outside use as recommended by the master lock people when the one I used before quit working and I had called the company about the shackle not connecting. I was told the one I was using, bought at a retail store, was not meant for outdoor elements and to purchase this one. It is definitely heavy duty and I'm sure I'll get many years of use out of it.

Convenient combo locks - hold up to outdoors

Great little locks by Master. I hate carrying around keys, so having these on our shed, pump-house, etc provide the desired security without the hassle of needing to go grab keys. Seem to hold up OK outdoors - have been through 1.5 years in the Pacific Northwest without issue so far.

Excellent combination lock...me no like those keyed ones

I bought four and now need two more. We used these in the military for years...beat the heck out of them. Sometimes they "stuck". Just because they were outside in the dirt/sand/heat/rain/ice. So, we soaked them in WD-40...and they free right up and worked! Love this style combination padlock...if they got a key, I will lose it. So, I will stick with a combo lock. Thank Master Lock...great lock you guys got here.

Buy this, not new style @ H. D.

Big box stores now carry a new version of this without the little key that holds the guts while you choose your own code. I bougt two of them, and a co worker bought 2 as well. We had to return all of them. One didnt open out of the package, supposed to open with four zeroes, the others didnt accept the code we chose, so we couldnt open them after we thought we had them set to our code. Yes, we followed the instructions, ...extra carefully aftet first ones faied to work right. Buy these instead. Works every time, have been using them for years. Perfect, except in the dark. Meh, cant have everything...

Great quality product. Great concept

I love these locks and use them for almost anything outdoors: the cable that holds the Yeti cooler in the bed of my truck, the roll up doors on my outdoor building, boat trailer couplers, and similar... I own about 5 or 6. They hold up pretty well to corrosion in the high humidity, frequent rain environment where I live (FL panhandle). If you really dunk one in saltwater you'll need to perform some targeted TLC or else it'll seize-up. Great quality product. Great concept that avoids you going hunting for those disappearing, small padlock keys. Combination key gives you the option of temporarily setting a combination "1776" or "1492" to let a buddy or contractor come in and borrow a utility trailer or do some electrical work in your metal building. I am a big fan.

Just what I needed.

We have a new pool, which means new gates. This pack was perfect. I needed three matching locks able to have the same code. Changing the code was very easy. The only thing I would caution you about is make sure the clearance of the latch, and the thickness of the latch is what you need. They make thinner and longer latches if that's what you need.

I'm happy with it

I use this for the gym. Our lockers don't surrond the latch, so these fit. the latches that are recessed into the locker, may not fit. I don't know. Lock works very well for the money. Be careful to push the key all the way into a spring loaded area when setting the combo. I bent the key, till I realized I had to push further into a spring loaded "thingy"?

Great product!

This lock is much more heavy-duty than I had anticipated! Great purchase! I would definitely buy it again. I have only had mine for about a week, but so far it is doing its job. I am using it outside to lock a gate. I like that it has a number combo on the bottom to open it as opposed to a Combination dial or a key lock.

Excellent lock

Best lock I've ever owned. We use it outside to lock the gate into our driveway. It's been 9 months, many snows, hot weather, rain, etc - still works great! I love that I can close it with the combination scrambled, so if I just want to leave it hanging on my gate I don't have to worry about it.
