So simple, so valuable
I've carried a similar device for decades in my computer tool kit but lost my toolkit during one of our trips :-( . When I ran across this one while searching for something else it was a no-brainer. I use it for scribing ID-type date on metal parts and use the magnet end to magnetize screwdriver tips and such or for moving dropped parts with the tool underneath to where I can get hold of the part. A thousand uses!

High Value with a Handy Magnetic End
Usually I steer clear of GENERAL brand items, but the price was so good, I decided to get one. It is QUITE sharp, and helps make very accurate scribe lines. The magnet on mine is almost flush, unlike the picture. The magnet is an extra handy feature. Have not scribed yards and yards of lines, so cannot speak to longevity of sharpness, but in short term works very well.

exceeded expectations.
scribes cast iron woodworking tools and even stainless steel engineer squares easily. line is fine; need to look hard to see it. still can scribe metal well. not sure what to expect when purchased since comments are variable but scribe has exceeded my expectations and good price.

A great helper if working with metals
If you build your own metal cases to house electronics projects this might be the tool you need. Thank you Amazon and Vendor.

Scribing the Line
I ordered this as an add-on to an order. No regrets, the tungsten carbide tip is VERY sharp and scribes a nice line. The "cap" is magnetic, which has both pros and cons. I'm happy with the product.

To all those who said made in China.
Made in the USA!!! I was so relieved to see the letters U S A stamped into these scribe pens after all the negative reviews I read. General must have gotten their stuff together because this is a solid tool. Sharp tip, lightweight but solid construction. Can't ask for more under 6 bucks!

Fine point!
Wow, the picture doesn't do this justice. It's much more precise than I imagined from looking at the pictures. Don't spend more if you don't have to, this scribe works awesome. I almost paid multiples more because it didn't look like a very fine point... it's MUCH better than expected. Totally served my purpose.

As described. It works well, but honestly having bought this, I'm wishing I hadn't bothered. I just end up using a sharpie most of the time anyway since it shows up far more clearly. Still, for when sharpie will rub off this is handy.

Scribes through mill scale and rust like a champ
Scribes through mill scale and rust like a champ. Magnetic tip is great for sticking the scribe close to you when your hands are full. Does a pretty decent job picking up loose hardware that falls into hard-to-reach areas.
