A Favorite Puzzle

This is one of my 5 year old grandson's favorite puzzle. Lots of bright pieces that are sturdy and of good quality.

Beautiful and fun

Fantastic large puzzle. The pieces are sturdy and the print is glossy and vibrant. My two-year-old loves puzzles and this one is adequately challenging without being overwhelming. We will be buying more Melissa and Doug puzzles.

Colorful and challenging puzzle of solid quality!

I bought this puzzle and the farmhouse puzzle for my 2.5 year old. I later added the floor puzzles for the dinosaurs and firetruck. I happen to think my daughter is pretty bright so I bought her this puzzle even though the age range starts at 3 years old. I would say that, of the bunch, my daughter clearly prefers the farm puzzle, however, I won't rate this puzzle negatively for that. The farm puzzle is fewer pieces (36 pieces) and the objects in the puzzle are separated out a bit more so it's easier for a child to identify it's proper placement, also the objects in the puzzles are more distinct from one another in that fishes can look like fishes whereas a cow does not look like a pig. Anyhow, this puzzle is very beautiful and bright. It does have some parts which are easier for the younger audience to discern such as the killer whales, sharks, and dolphins. Once you start getting into the reef and smaller fishes, it becomes more challenging. As I mentioned, I don't think this is necssarily a bad thing for this puzzle as the stated age range is 3 and up, so I won't rate it down for the fact that a 2 year old has a tougher time with it, but I just wanted to let parents know that if you are looking for a puzzle for a younger child, I would say that the farmhouse is great starter puzzle and then the kids can work their way up to this puzzle which is a bit more challenging. It's very durable and I can compare it to another brand (with the thomas puzzle) and the pieces on this puzzle are much thicker and durable and lock in place better. I think even though my daughter has to grow into this puzzle a bit more, I think it will provide a good bit of challenge, stimulation for some time to come.

And still, in person it looks so humongous! The colors of this puzzle are beautiful and vibrant. The pieces fit together very easily and the image is really lovely to look at. This would make a great gift for any little one!

Large puzzle and good quality!

My almost 3 year old daughter has become obsessed with puzzles so I decided to try this large one. At first it was a little tough for her but she has gotten used to it and it’s great. The puzzle itself is good quality. We have purchased others that were cheaper but the quality was cheaper and the pieces would move which is frustrating for our little one. She still assembles and disemmbles the puzzle all the time. Couldn’t be happier, except when she leaves the pieces all over the floor and decides to finish later :)

Sturdy and visually interesting 48 piece puzzle

We're using these puzzles at a crisis intervention clinic. The puzzles are great projects for people to work on that seems to help them de-escalate when they're emotionally charged. The puzzles are not overly complicated and the pieces are fairly sturdy and large, making them easy for people to work with. This puzzle has 40 fewer pieces than the other puzzles we've ordered and this is a good tool to use with people who have intellectual distinctions. It is not too simple or too difficult. People of all ages seem to like to complete these puzzles.

Really great puzzle!!

This is a really great puzzle. Although our toddler girl cannot complete this on her own, she gets a lot of excitement from helping out others who are fitting in the pieces. This is a very well created puzzle. Perhaps one of the better ones in the 48 piece range. Very colorful and looks really nice after completing it. This will be challenging and interesting for kids as they try to complete it on their own when they grow old enough to handle a puzzle of this size. This is a good value and glad I was able to purchase this.

Purchased this puzzle for my grandaughter, who is quite a clever 2 1/2 year old. The large, thick pieces make it very easy for kids to piece the puzzle together without the frustration of smaller puzzles. Because there are only 48 pieces and they are very large, it makes this a perfect activity for a parent and older toddler to do together. I was surprised how well this puzzle can hold her attention. My granddaughter had her 4 year old friend over, who just had a blast putting this big puzzle together on the living room floor. The fishes are easy to identify and piece together because of all the different patterns and colors on them. Great buy.

Beautiful

There's not much to say about this puzzle except that it's the quality we've all come to expect from Melissa and Doug. My son is 4 years, 8 months and this puzzle was not too difficult for him. In fact, he might even be a bit too old for this, as he's completed it with no help from us a few times and is already bored with it... but I think that depends on the individual child. The graphics are vivid, and the colorful under water scape is lovely. Highly recommend.
