Droll Yankee feeder tray
Very easy to attach. The finches love it and I'm able to get a good view of them while they feed. The downside is that a few of the larger birds have discovered that they can use the tray as a feeding platform. I recommend this product.

Another Fine Droll Yankees Product
The Omni tray can be attached to the bottom of the Droll Yankees feeder with a pastic threaded plug (furnished) or a wing nut (not furnished). It is a simple task to complete and no tools are needed. The tray has a a number of holes around the outer perimeter of the feeder to let water drain. Having a tray means not only preventing seed from falling to the ground but also attracting birds that are too big to use the perches. The few seeds that do fall on the ground are soon consumed by doves, if they can get to them before the squirrels arrive. This tray is made in the USA and is a quality product from Droll Yankees. It will attract far more birds then just the feeder alone.

Seed Saver
So glad to help contain seeds dropped by the many birds at my feeder. Not only does the seed not fall and create a bed of weeds below the feeder but the seed is also salvaged for other birds to come and eat what has been dropped. So many more cardinals since adding this feature to my feeder.

Works great
This wasn't made for my feeder, but I suspended it underneath using clear line (3-point), and it works great for catching the mess birds make. It scares them sometimes, because the suspension lets it move, but they manage just fine.

Keeps seeds off the ground
My homeowners association passed a resolution that all bird feeders must have provision to contain seeds from falling to the ground. The intent was to avoid attracting geese and ducks that frequent an adjacent pond, from coming up into the yards to eat the seeds that fall to the ground. It was said that their excrement is messy and might cause a resident to fall. A couple of my older feeders had no provision for mounting a tray and were replaced by Droll Yankee model A-6RP feeders. Since installing these trays, I've found that a high percentage of seed is contained in the trays. During a recent snowy spell, when I couldn't get out to fill my feeders, larger birds have been cleaning out what fell in the trays. I've even had a bird eating from these trays that I've never seen in some 20 years of bird feeding.

Perfect for giving the birds a second chance for the seed.
Works just as expected. It's great for giving birds a second chance for the uneaten seeds before the squirrels on the ground get them. You can't go wrong with Droll Yankees.

Quality
Ordered this for my sister as a replacement part for her bird feeder. The product is excellent. She is so very happy with this item. Great company and quality made items.

Great product! Well thought out and well designed.
Great product, great concept. The drainage holes are just a little bit large for nyjer/thistle seed though, they can fall through. I partially covered each hole with a little scotch tape. I'd like to have seen smaller drainage holes and a few more of them. But if you're sick of black seed all over the ground getting wasted this is great. The goldfinches at my house sit on the tray and eat the seed that falls into it, really cute. Also, I have some feral cats that I had fixed and vaccinated and I feed daily. They're always around so everything bird had to come up and away from the ground. I even have a hanging birdbath. This tray keeps the doves and sparrows etc. from going to the ground to feed and keeps them safe as a result. UPDATE: June 27, 2013. I have since realized that the larger size of the drainage holes are completely necessary. When cleaning it I found that the tape over the drainage holes which made them smaller also allowed them to get clogged up with gunk. I removed all of the tape, washed the tray thoroughly, and then reinstalled it on the feeder. It has been like night and day. The birds gobble up the seed that falls in the tray, and the seed stays very dry because of the excellent drainage. If it had lots of tiny holes instead of fewer larger holes, they would just get clogged with dirt and debris mixing with rain and becoming a hard mud. But the manufacturers clearly put a lot of thought, and possibly research and development, into the use of these larger openings. Yes, some seed does fall through them, but very little. And the benefits of having really good drainage far outweigh any few seeds that continue to fall to the ground. It's been sometime since I purchased this product and I still really love it.

Fits B-7F
Fits my B-7F. First package was missing the plug to attach it to the feeder. Sent a message and 2 days later another one showed up with a plug. Well played.

Great product, but not made to fit the very low end feeders.
This works well with the Droll feeders that have a removable plug in the bottom. Some of the lesser priced units do no have that plug and thus no way to attach the tray ( I did attach one with contact cement). Good size and I use it to catch the seed they normally drop and as a platform feeder.
