Super cute toy! My daughter loves her tool set, she's only 2.5 years old but each day she gets better and better at tightening and loosening the bolts. It's a great learning tool! I shopped around for the price and this was the lowest I could find. Hope this was helpful:)

My son is 1.5 and loves this. He doesn't have the skills to use all the piece as intended yet, as its 3+, but he doesn't care. One of the best (most intertaining) toys I've ever gotten him. I unwrapped it for him and he tinkered with it for two hours without pause. Would recommend if you have a toddler that likes tinkering.

This keeps my daughter busy all day. She used the hammer the most-one thing to consider when you also have a baby in the home- so she needs to play with it in her room because of the noise, which gives her something fun to do in her room alone. Very glad I purchased this during one of my late night/early morning Amazon shopping binges.

I can't say enough good things about this toy set. My son has had this since he was about 7 months old (he just turned 1 yr) and it's been his favorite toy the entire time. He obviously doesn't use it to its full potential, but he carries a bolt with him everywhere he goes. We have one in each car and another in the diaper bag. The rest of the "hardware" and the tools stay in the family room and he always starts with them. Even with teething, they have held up great. He chews on them, beats things with them and they just keep trucking. Even the threads on the nuts and bolts still work great. I expected him to mess those up pretty quickly, but they last.

This is my little guy's favorite toy! He is currently 10 months old and definitely doesn't use this tool set to it's full potential, but he loves taking out each tool from the box, play with it, then chew it (of course!). I haven't noticed any paint chipping from all the chewing, and the tools and box have held up really well. I have actually had some fun myself playing with this :-) This is a great product! I would highly recommend.

My son absolutely loves this toy. He will spend an hour putting the pieces together, assembling it in different ways, etc. The only downside is that sometimes they are a little hard to get out when nailed or screwed into the box itself. It's a little tight on space, so my son has to ask for help on occasion. It also makes storage not necessarily difficult, but it could be easier. I would buy this again though. It's a great gift, encourages creative play and problem solving. Melissa & Doug have once again made a great toy!

I heart wooden toys. I love any toy that's not plastic and cheaply made. Toys go through some serious abuse, and I remember doing some screwed up things to my toys (there was a lot of paint and fire involved) and these things need to hold up. If I'm spending money on toys, they need to be worth it, and Melissa and Douglas toys are the bomb diggity. They're durable, well made, cute, and gender neutral. Everything I've seen from this company is either a natural wood color, or basic colors. I can't wait to see what my kiddo does with them. :)

I bought this for 18 month old twin boys. They play with is all the time! They are rough on stuff and so far it's held up really well. Sounds like a construction site around here! A lot of pieces, they all have multiple functions. Great for learning how things work.

My LO is 20mnths and he really likes this toy. The hammer is his favorite piece! I expect he'll like it for a long time since he it will remain a challenge for a long time. It can be used in a variety of ways: hammering the nails to the box, screwing pieces together, screwing pieces to the box, removing nails with prying end of hammer, twisting washers by hand or with wrench/driver. Pros: 1. Educational a) improves dexterity b) requires problem solving c) encourages imagination 2. Fun esp. since they can mimic mom and dad using tools 3. Bold primary (unisex) colors. 4. Made of durable wood. 5. Easy to take with you since everything fits in the tool box 6. Great price for the quality Cons: 1. Does not have any other sets you can purchase to enhance this set 2. Grooves in screws extend for edge to edge, so it is tricky to keep screwdriver in place esp. when using in combination with wrench 3. Made in China even though it is an American owned company. In response to common complaints from other critics. 1. Nails are hard to get out once hammered in. True, but my guy can do it by himself using the prying part of the hammer. 2. Chemical paint smell. Not true at all in the set we got and I am very sensitive to chemical smells. 3. Paint chipping. You do get paint transfer on the hammer if you hammer the painted parts (nails are not painted). But otherwise no chipping. 4. Splinters. My dog chewed on a couple of pieces and they splintered. However, my LO doesn't chew on them, and I doubt they would splinter if he did. They do not splinter when used in normal play. 5. Not realistic looking. The hammer is thick like a mallet but that is good for toddlers. They look as pictured. I would recommend real tools if your child has the dexterity, but for toddlers/preschoolers this set works.

I purchased this for my grandson who had just turned one. I am not a fan of light up noisy toys. Makes me sound old, I know. This was his favorite toy out of everything else he had received and played with this over all other toys.
