Such a fantastic idea, why didn't anyone come up with it sooner?
Ok. I'll say it. This measuring cup is odd looking. However, once you use it you will wonder why you didn't get it sooner. Pros: - So easy to read! Being able to look down and see the measurement let's you make more precise measurements without holding the thing up and risking spilling it on yourself. Not that I've ever done that... - Light weight Cons - Would have preferred glass over plastic, but I understand why it's plastic. My advice. Try it. It really does work.

Angled is the way to go for weak arms/bad back.
I bought this for my mom who was going through breast cancer radiation treatments which was leaving her arms weak from keeping them up so long; Because it allows her to spend less time holding the measuring cup and no where near as high. It was also good for her bad back since she doesn't need to bend over to see the line. I tested the measurements lines with a measuring cup that I knew had correct amounts and OXO Good Grips's measurements were all accurate. The handle is really comfortable, and the pour spout doesn't dribble except for when pouring heavy batters. The dishwasher did cause permanently foggy strips on the sides, but that doesn't hamper any usability aspects of the cup.

Very nice measuring cup
I recently purchased one of those one cup drip coffee makers which is basically a porcelain funnel which fits over a mug. However, I was not getting the correct amount of hot water so I found this very light clear plastic measuring cup. Most of the measuring cups in our home are large and very heavy glass. This thing is light as a feather but what surprised me is the plastic holds up to extremely hot water: the handle did not get warm either. I have only had it a short time but it so far it is a great little essential tool for my morning/evening cup of coffee!

Great invention!
Wow! What a great invention. No more bending over to read measurements. The Pyrex measuring cups I have had forever were NEVER easy to read, from day one. And pouring from them always resulted in dribbling over the edge and down the side, making a mess. These do not. They are clearly labeled and easy to read. Filled exactly in one shot. No more guessing, letting the liquid stop moving, bending over to read it, having too much/not enough, repeat. Can’t attest to durability, as I have not had them long, but for now, big thumbs up!

Must have Oxo product
The plastic is a little thin, so I feel it might not hold up over the years, but I will see. Overall though, I love this measuring cup! It makes measuring liquids easy. It also makes pouring easy as the lip is designed well so it doesn’t splash or run everywhere like my Pyrex does.

sometimes its the little things that make all the difference.....very smart design.
bout time someone started thinking about design of measuring cups. sturdy plastic, measures in oz and ml and the angled interior lip allows you to read the measurement from above while pouring in the liquid in lieu of having to hold it up or bend down to look from the side.......sometimes its the little things that make all the difference. someone was thinking here folks.

Great little gadget
My friends and I had a night at Dream Dinners, a place where you go and put together supplied ingredients for dinners to take home. They had these neat, little measuring cups instead of the traditional measuring spoons. We all commented on how we liked them and how easy they were to use. I bought these to give as gifts to my friends who were with me that night and for myself. I really enjoy using it. It is great for measuring small amounts of liquids instead of using measuring spoons and it is easy to clean afterwards. Hardly takes up any space in a drawer either. Love it.

I use these for making drinks...
Once upon a time, I was at one of these new 'craft bars' where they make 'craft cocktail' (which is just a fancy way of saying 'old school cocktails')... and I saw all the bartenders were using these fun little measuring cups. In my head I was taken to my own kitchen where I'm trying to make a New York Sour using a Tablespoon to measure everything out... pretty dumb, but it works in a pinch. So I do my research and find out that these measuring cups give me exactly 4 TBSP that I need to make my drink... so pour once in a cup vs pour 4 times into a tablespoon. Additionally, 4 Tbsp of whiskey is only the first part, I can also measure out the rest of my drink with the same cup and get exact parts. While I only needed one, I ordered up 3, because.. why not? they are cute and stack nicely in my silverware drawer, so I have easy access anytime! i'm sure they'd work great for cooking and baking as well, but let's be honestly, they are way more handy for making drinks. PS - 1 ounce equals 2 Tbsp, for your cocktail making adventures! Cheers~

BRILLIANTLY DESIGNED !!
It is so Utterly SATISFYING to use a Product (and I am CONSTANTLY using a Variety of Oxo’s Outstanding Products!!) that are Conspicuously Designed for Brilliant Usability!! No more bending over & straining my eyes just to read (the OTHER product’s) _STUPIDLY_ illegible markings: the Oxo measuring cups are wondrously clear & legible. Yet Another problem I've had with NON-Oxo measuring cups which boggles the mind with their IDIOCY:: How is it even POSSIBLE that the OTHER companies would design spouts that fail to pour without spilling?! Please Permit me to supply the answer to that question:: They DON'T "design" them -- they merely cobble together something that APPEARS to be a measuring cup, but is NOT a measuring cup. That situation reminds me of a wonderful interchange that reputedly occurred when King Charles VII mockingly asked Joan of Arc: "What do you call a baker who removes bread from the oven before it is done?" I LOVE Joan's Reply: "Not a baker."

Treat gently for years of use
I'm always cooking for no more than one or two people, and most recipes are written for four to six servings, so I usually cut recipes in half. When a recipe calls for a tablespoon of a liquid ingredient (common in Asian recipes!) it's difficult (and messy) to accurately measure 1.5 teaspoons. That's why I ordered the OXO 1/4 cup measurer. I'm sure I'll use it frequently. On to its durability: this is a plastic measuring cup, and like ALL my plastic food prep tools, I will be hand washing it, and not putting it in the dishwasher. Why? Because dishwashing detergent is far too harsh and will, over time, fade the markings and eventually, cause pitting and scratches on the surface of the plastic (making it appear cloudy). I expect with gentle cleaning (and handling; I don't expect it to survive many accidental drops on my very hard ceramic tile kitchen floor), this cute little cup should last quite a long time.
