this is the best player i ever bought

SUPER EASY TO HOOK UP!!

I am not too electronic savy but I had this out of the box and hooked up playing a dvd in less that five minutes. The picture is great, it looks great....I just love it!!

Works well oldie but goodie

Great Product

Plays all kinds of discs except DVD-RW and DVD+R/RW. Its also copies your DVD to VCR if the disc isn't protected. I have tried a lot of other DVD-VCR combos and this is the best.

Very nice product

The player is very nice to look at, with a nicely subdued blue glow to the digital display. It's surprisingly lightweight and easy to carry and position. The gold connectors are nice too. Quality is excellent with both the DVD and VHS. Recording looks good. Colors seem perfect. Audio is top notch. Dialogue, music, and the bass really kick in nicely. Monster cables or something equal increase the quality something fierce, so I recommend picking those up. The VHS is noticably less crisp than DVD, but that's pretty much a given with anything. I'm sure the remote and on-screen menus could be made more user-friendly, but I'm not complaining. Some form of audioscopes would be welcome to go along with the music. Overall, no real complaints. I like the multitude of features. It compliments my little home theater setup nicely.

Just great

I've had this model for about a year and a half and it has been great - not one problem whatsoever - I think any "negative" reviews must be due to user error, because any monkey could properly set this up - very simple to use. DVD is great, never a skip - VCR is fine. Remote is ok, simply a matter of R-E-A-D-I-N-G the manual. Highly recommend this product.

Well Featured and attractive for the price....

When compared to other name brand Dual Decks, this Toshiba beats them hands down on price/feature. Component out hook up was a plus and the VCR worked great the few times that I have used it. Toshiba always ranks very high on the Consumer Reports brand reliabilty charts, so I am very confident this unit will last.

High quality and very reliable

I've had this unit for several years and have played hundreds of DVD's and VHS tapes over that time period. I typically do not like combo units fully expecting one aspect to crap out rendering the dual functionality useless however this unit has been a great surprise. Have never had any difficulties with it and would consider another one when it does give out.

I couldn't live without this

People tried to talk me out of this. I'll always have lots of VHS tapes I'll want to keep and watch. And now I love DVD. With no space at home, this is a great space saving device that avoids the prospect of having to rehook wires and stack machines. No problems at all with this machine. I can't live without this.
