Years of fun!
A friend gave this to my daughter five years ago, when she was three. She's eight now, and when friends visit they still regularly get this set out and play with it. My two-year-old likes it too. It's extremely durable -- I don't think we have any other toy that has seen so much use and stayed in completely new condition. Plus it holds the kids interest much better than a lot of other toys, because you can do so many things with it, including: * pretending to cook * pretending to be the chef * pretending to have a pizza meal * feeding parents * using the velcro to stick the pieces together in artistic new arrangements * fit the pizza slices together into a circle * passively learning about fractions as you divide the pizza in half, quarters, eighths, etc. * the wooden pizza cutter makes a satisfying "slice" through the velcro * putting everything back into the nice wooden box (the contents fit in comfortably) * you can play by yourself * you can use it with a mob of friends -- there are enough pieces to share with everybody Plus I like that it is made of mostly wood, not plastic. And I like it because pizza is a relatively healthy food compared to most of the sugary foods out there -- this set even has mushrooms and bell peppers as toppings. But the bottom line is how much this grabs and holds the interest of so many kids -- because of that I think it's one of the all-time best toys my kids have ever had. (I don't work for the Melissa and Doug company -- I'm just a satisfied customer.)

Unique and fun!
This is one of my all-time favorite toys that my kids have ever had. It is so well-used that a lot of the paint is chipping off the pieces, but it has been used very harshly by multiple kids over the past 8 years so I don't blame it. It is such a "different" type of kitchen toy, and we have purchased at least 6 of these to give as gifts. Kids love putting different toppings on the pizza and then cutting it apart and doling it out to anyone around. Once again Melissa and Doug has hit it out of the park with this toy. This is the type of toy to put away and save for grandkids to use years from now!

Great Imaginative Play
I got this for my 4 year-old grandson for Christmas, and I've recently had the opportunity to visit and see him playing with it firsthand. He LOVES it. He is "making pizza" several times a day and has even picked up that his uncle doesn't like mushrooms and leaves those off his slice! The toy is exceptionally well made; no stickers that will peel off and no rough edges. The velcro that attaches the toppings to the pizza is also very sturdy. The serving pieces are nice surprise. Very realistic and built well for small hands. One of the things I found ingenious was that the pizza pieces velcro together in the pan, so when it child "slices" the pizza, there is some resistance which really adds to the imaginative play! I would not hesitate to purchase this again. I love Melissa and Doug toys and was thrilled to see their quality has not deteriorated like so many other things these days. There ARE a lot of pieces, but so what? That's part of having kids. At least they are quality, sturdy pieces!

Great toy as always from Melissa & Doug
I like Melissa & Doug products and this pizza kit does not disappoint. My daughter loves it and we can use it for fun and learning. I made some order cards with my Word program and printed them on cardstock. This way I can have her make me pizzas and get some counting and sorting in while we have fun.

Fun and Educational
This gift went over big time! My two-year-old grandson is obsessed with it. He loves sorting the toppings, getting everybody's pizza order, making their Pizza, and cutting it. The velcro places are really nice so it makes you feel like you're really cutting the slices apart. Also the toppings velcro on and off. It's made of sturdy wood and very realistic looking.

Nephew Plays Constantly!
I gave this toy to my nephew (2.5 years old) for Christmas last week. He absolutely LOVES it! He has a toy very similar, made by Melissa & Doug, so as he took the wrapping off, he knew it was something he'd enjoy. He tore off the paper with earnest! Ever since, he has enjoyed creating pizza slices for us. It is a very interactive toy that seems to require he have willing subjects to "taste" the pizza - and might not be as fun for a child playing alone. The ingredients are red/green peppers, mushrooms, and pepperoni. I'm only a fan of the pepperoni, but he would eat anything, and he was thrilled it had the other ingredients. It would be nice to have more variety, but for a young one and for the purpose he is pleased - so I am too. The box came with a pizza platter as well, and I noticed a review where someone mentioned a pizza fast-food place might give you a pizza box for the child to play with as well if you mention how fun this game is for them. The pizza platter it includes in ours, is green, and the perfect size. It also came with a pizza cutter/slicer & spatula. He knows how to stack the ingredients on the pizza, put the pizza together, and cut it all apart. Definitely a great teaching tool for kids, in understanding how to use a pizza slicer, without any risk. ;) On a side note, there are a LOT of pieces. If you're worried about the child losing things, or a big mess/scattered toys, this is probably not the toy for you. But if they're neat, and old enough to pick up their toys (keep things together), it's great fun. Overall, I highly recommend - but also continue to look for additional ingredients I might be able to get for it?

Superb Product
This item was given several years ago to a three-year old boy who absolutely loved it! Although he is now interested in a phenomenal range of things from alligators to volcanos, he still plays with this pizza party set. Interestingly, at a recent birthday party where amazing (real) food was served, children from eleven to four years of age were having a blast playing with this well-loved and rather worn set. Typical of products from Melissa and Doug, the pieces are solid (no junk wood here!), and have Velcro strips to hold everything in place. Highly recommended for many years of active use and enjoyment.

Makes a great gift
Our two grandchildren have enjoyed playing with this pizza set more than any other toys that we have in our home for when they come to visit. I just bought a second one as a gift and play to buy additional ones when I need a fun, sturdy gift that I know children will enjoy.

fun and teaches sorting
I'm a teacher and I bought this for my pre-primary class, ages 3-6. They love to make pizzas and when they are done they sort the mushrooms, pepperoni, and bell peppers into the handy compartments. I like that it teaches sorting, aids in imaginative play, and that they enjoy playing with it. It also seems sturdy and durable.

Your'e pizza's up!!!
I'll have two slices, please, one with mushrooms and peppers and one with just pepperoni!!!!!! Kidls just LOVE this Melissa and Doug pizza play food. It's great because it had all that the adults use to make a pizza. The plate, the pizza, the slicer, the server, and the condiments. Such a great toy for an addition to kids kitchen play set. Only thing I wish Melissa and Doug would do is put a lid on the nice container it comes in. This way it would be so much easier to store. I would not recommend to under 3 unless you put away the condiments until they were older. All in all a great play set. There are a lot of different ones out there, and I like this one the best.
