Its about time............
Ive always been a real fan of the minidisc design. The size and ruggedness of the media made it ideal for a person on the go. Up til now the players havent followed suit. The models offered were quite fragile in contrast to the minidisc inside. After endless dings and dents to my Aiwa am-f70 I finally found a player that im not afraid to drop on cement while running. If you have ever owned or even used a sports walkman from sony then you should know what to expect from this model. Beyond the design, the ability to record from your computer via a USB port gives Minidisc users a something to cheer about. Although the software is a bit clunky and confusing for those who arent highly computer literate, I expect with some use most anyone can master the art of making a recording from Mp3 files. Although I do like this model quite a bit I do have something to gripe about- NO RECHARGEABLE BATTERY. Big mistake in my opinion.

Mini Disc Rules
I have been a fan of M.D. since it's inception. Sound quality better than MP3's Disc's that are R-W and recording times of over 5 hours per disc. It is the most versatile audio recorder editor on the market. I have several MD players recorders. This one was awesome a heavy duty sports model that was $249.99 new and I got for $74.95. As all of them works perfect sounds great and will bring years of enjoyment.

Fabulous Machine
Absolutely Great! No problems with software at all. Open MG recorded great and easy as did Simple Burner, and finished music sounded great all around. Have not tried LP4 yet but I see no reason why it won't be good also except for small reduction in quality. I would purchase again without question.

you remember that SOUND 'you been looking for?
This walkman has great sound quality. I Like that you can still record from cD's in real time, directly from your player (using fiber optics cable)!

I LOVE my player
I LOVE my player!!! I bought it many years ago. For the reviews I have read that pan this player, I scratch my head wondering why. Maybe you just bought a bad player. My software got ruined several years ago, so I'm wanting to download drivers so I can download a program that will let me see what songs I have on my discs. I don't remember the transfer of songs from my computer to the netmd being difficult, or time consuming. However, I have just two blank mini discs left, and, depending on the songs I already have on the discs, I have several hundred more songs on mp3 players that I would like to transfer to the netmd player. While I see several examples of the mini discs on amazon, I'm not sure which ones I need, because it's been more than 10 years since I bought the discs or the netmd player. Can anyone direct me to the mini discs I would need to buy? This player is very durable. I have 3 mp3 players. I carry them in my pocket at work, and they take a beating, so two of them have gone bad, and I can barely hear the songs on them now. So, when I trade off to my netmd player, I get quality sound. I've dropped it several times at work. We have cement floors, and the netmd player has come out unscathed every time I've dropped it. So, again, can someone tell me what discs I need to buy for the Sony MZ-S1 Sports Net MD MiniDisc Player? It's been so long since I bought them, I'm not sure which ones my player needs. And, for anyone thinking of buying this player, I highly recommend it.
