I can’t believe I never thought of purchasing fabric scissors like this before; they’re genius. I’ve used them to cut through denim, pleather, fleece, canvas, upholstery fabric, cotton, felt, and memory foam. These bad boys will cut through anything and everything (probably a finger too I imagine - they’re very sharp and point so watch out). The handle has silicone grips and is very comfortable to hold; because of its design it is best used for cutting fabrics on tables without worrying about lifting the fabric or your hand getting in the way. There’s a safety clip of the side to keep the scissors closed; the scissors are spring-loaded, so they’re default mode is “open.” 100% recommend these scissors to crafters, sewers, hobbyists, or anyone just looking for a sweet pair of scissors. At the time of my purchase they were cheaper than those carries by my local sewing supply store so I’d consider them a steal. Would def buy again!

I have two more of these scissors. I have arthritis so they help a lot. I wanted a third one for my travel bag. The new ones come in a white/orange color which I am not fond of as I don't know if it will retain the color after so much use. The picture on line shows the grey color. I think for my future purchases I would enquire from the shipper to make sure I get the one I wanted. I have these scissors for a number of years, they are EXCELLENT in performance. I am a quilter and I use these scissors a lot. I gave it 5 stars for their performance. Also Fiscars, the company that makes them stand behind their product from my past experience. I recommend these scissors.

I love Fiskar's brand scissors. I know that the artistic types out there like obscure brands that are hard to find, but they're all wrong and I don't know why they put up the front. I wish these were cheaper but you get what you pay for. These not only last a long time, but are easy to sharpen and the spring action works very well. My old pair lasted for years and were eventually stolen, these have been a wonderful replacement (though they are so popular they are bound to be stolen again at some point). I wouldn't use them for fabric, but for crafts and paper projects these can't be beat and are good for people with medical issues in their hands. They take a lot of pressure off while cutting. And, even though I don't recommend using them for fabric, lots of people who quilt and have arthritis do and swear by them. Fiskars does at least one thing right and they do it well in all their products: they make damn good cutting utensils.

Absolutely fantastic as far as I'm concerned!!! This is my second pair in 2 months but with the price I don't mind! My other ones still work fairly well, but always wanna have a backup pair! Then again, the AMAZING material I use them for cutting will give any shears a run for their money!! The slices must be PERFECT and in one swift action to shraid my AMAZING leggings for my Etsy shop uMuseMe to come out just right, so I'm excruciatingly particular! Regular cutting on regular fabrics and I think they'll last really long! Very gentle on your hands! They may have a problem with real thick, leather like material because the plastic grip can slip to the side with that kind of force. Hope tha helped?

We bought a pair of these for my grandmother who has very bad arthritis. The scissors are spring loaded, so you don't have to open and close them manually. When you're finished, you use the thumb button to lock them closed. It makes cutting so much easier, especially if you have any issues with your wrist or hands.

I bought these because while watching a video on costume making, the presenter said, "You will WANT these, because (having good tools) makes ALLLLL the difference." I sew. I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which is a connective tissue disorder. Simply put, it means I am MUCH more prone to getting repetitive injuries and arthritis in my hands. If I have to do a big project that involves a lot of cutting, that means a lot of pain. These scissors are AMAZING for alleviating that stress. I completed a HUGE project - my son's Halloween costume - with no hand issues. And the difference between these an regular scissors? There is just ZERO comparison. None. These were so worth the price I paid for them and then some. I highly recommend, especially for hands prone to injuries. Oh, and they cut really well, too! I almost forgot that part. But they do!

Only took a minute to become accustomed to the unique action of these Easy Action shears. Even though I've read that these are meant for use on fabrics, they're easy to use on paper, too, though I don't know if that will cause any problems in the future. My hands don't hurt after extended use the way they did when using regular scissors. Though not everyone can afford the extra cost, (as a former teacher I wouldn't expect my students to pay more, not even for sewing) they fit my budget and are well worthwhile. The lock is easy to use, but not too obvious to a preschooler who was eyeing it. The white/orange color combo (think creamsicle!) helps it stand out in a pile of fabric or paper.

The scissors work well and I definitely like the spring action as it does give my hand a break. I have thumb joint arthritis and this is type of scissor was recommended by the occupational therapist. I am glad to have them.

Fiskar scissors are a staple for my sewing notions. These are so easy to pick up and begin to use after setting them down. There are no messy holes to stick fingers into to begin to cut. They are very sharp and easy to use. They maintain your sharpness after years of use. As a seamstress I reserve all of my sewing scissors for cutting fabric only. I never use them for any use other than that. They have far surpassed any expectations I have had of them. The price on Amazon for these scissors is spectacular.

I've used Fiskar's spring-loaded shears for several years. I'm a sewing teacher and doll pattern-maker, which means I cut a lot of fabric! These shears are excellent for sewing, especially if you have arthritis in your hands, or are worried about repetitive strain injury. They're spring-loaded, which means they pop open on their own when you unlock them. All you have to do is close them to cut your fabric, and with every stroke, they'll re-open automatically. Easy peasy! (Just remember to lock them when you're done cutting, to avoid injury.) Just to be clear, these are fabric shears, not regular, everyday scissors. They're specially shaped for cutting fabric without lifting it off the table. The handles are slightly padded, so they're comfortable to hold, and the grip is wide enough that it doesn't pinch your fingers, the way some scissors do. I always recommend these shears to my students, and it's one way that I can judge how serious a student is about taking classes. If they're willing to pay a little extra for the "good" shears, I know they're dedicated. If not, they'll buy a cheap pair of shears, which are difficult to cut with. Last week, I borrowed one of my students' brand-new pair of shears to demonstrate proper cutting technique and was startled by how much easier they were to cut with than mine! Apparently, mine had grown dull and it happened so slowly, I didn't even notice. It would have been difficult to get to the shop to get them sharpened, so I simply ordered a new pair. It was the exact same Amazon listing as the first pair I bought several years ago, but the shears I received were different. Instead of being gray and black, with a small orange lock, they're bright orange and white, which is rather hideous. Even my students have commented on how ugly the new shears are! That's disappointing, especially since the photo in the description still shows the old gray and black version. (Or it did at the time of my purchase.) Even so, I cannot complain. These are excellent shears for cutting fabrics of all types, from heavy denim to fragile chiffon, and everything in between. I use them daily, and I will keep returning to buy them every time I need a new pair. I won't even consider other shears! I might even buy an extra pair to keep on hand in case anything happens to mine. They last a long time, too! I had my first pair of shears for at least seven years, without any problems. The only reason I replaced them is because they were growing dull. But if you have a sewing shop nearby, you can simply get yours sharpened once a year, and they'll last a lifetime! I was going to deduct a star for the awful color of my new pair, but that's superficial and I really shouldn't allow the color to bother me. All things considered, these are a GREAT pair of sewing shears! Spring-loaded, comfort grip, super sharp---all you could ask for in a pair of sewing shears. Five stars and highly recommended to anyone who sews, quilts, or needs to cut fabric for any reason. (Note: They aren't suitable for clipping, notching, or trimming seam allowances, or for clipping threads. They're just too large---you run the risk of accidentally cutting your main fabric. For jobs like that, I recommend a pair of 4-inch scissors, like the "lightweight embroidery scissors" made by Gingher.)
