Last time I had one was 30 years ago when I was a kid. I got the orange one this time in case anyone wanted to know as you have no choice of color during ordering. From my past experience the durability is good until you hit a tree or a hard surface then the rubber starts to break apart on the edges. This toy has been around for years and I remember it is always a lot of fun. Once you get the hang of it with accuracy then you could go for longer distance and it does fly far. I recommend using this on grass, on a hard surface it will damage easily on the edges. Also, stay away from trees, you were losing one that way.

My 5 year old daughter recently played with a cheap plastic “ring” frisbee at the beach recently and she loved it. Since it wasn’t ours I bought a nicer one on amazon. This frisbee is rubber coated and it is thin which is perfect for a child. These are easier to grip than a regular frisbee so it is much easier to learn to throw. She loves that it is a ring so to catch it she just puts her arm through the middle like we are playing ring toss. Not only is it easy, but this thing flies REALLY FAR! I am sure you will love this as much as we do!

I was quite excited when this frisbee was delivered. Unfortunately it was followed by a few of consecutive rain. After that we had the best evening of the year.... so it seemed. After about 10 minutes of adrenaline pumping action, a bystander wanted to give it a toss. He went to throw it and mistakenly winged it at about 25 mph and it took off like a rocket headed to Mars. I chased it down thinking to myself "I can get this before it goes too far". I chased it down to find out it flew into the lake and sunk. I will be buying again and remember to play further from the lake.

This is a great ring! Once you get your hands on the comfortable, flexible silicone body, you'll want to throw it. Children of all ages and even grown men cannot resist chucking it as far as they can. These big rings sail FAAAAR! And they are a tad prone to getting stuck in high and sometimes funny places. (Believe me, these will end up in the trees and on roofs but they are easy to get down with a broom stick because of their ring shape.) A boy at cub scouts had one of these that everyone was playing with last week. My son decided to spend his hard earned allowance money on Amazon to order one, hoping it wouldn't be pink. :) He was thrilled when a yellow ring arrived. It has a VERY rice, silicone-like, soft rubbery grip and is fun to throw! Kids fight over these rings so I'm thinking of ordering several for birthday gifts and cousin Christmas gifts. You can't beat a gift for under ten that kids actually want to play outside with! Consider spending a little more and buying the 13 inch ring. It flies farther and better than the 10 inch rings did. However, if you don't have a wide open play space, the 10 inch rings might be better because they play more like a Frisbee and don't get hung up in trees quite as easily. UPDATE: I am now buying our THIRD ring! These make awesome gifts for boys in the 8 to 11 range, as my son is frequently swarmed by boys wanting to play with his. But be aware that if you throw it too far and loose sight of it, you won't get it back. It will be stolen by the first kid who comes across it. We had this happen at a party where the ring ended up sailing over a house and landing far behind it in an empty field right at dark. It was snatched before daylight. Hence me having to buy our third. (Since it was probably the roving neighborhood teenagers who picked it up late that night, I am going to say this is a good toy for fussy 16 and 17 year-olds, too!) It has been a favorite gift at birthday parties, followed by thank yous from the moms who are grateful for any toy that gets their video game addicted boys outside. I am thrilled to have found such a good gift for under $10. You can't go wrong with this ring! Update March 2017: I have now ordered nearly 10 of these rings in the last 5 months for birthday gifts for 9 and 10 year old boys and without fail, it has been an instant hit. The boys are always eager to show how FAR they can throw the ring and then are shocked when it sails two hundred yards or more. They puff out their chests as their friends exclaim "WOOOAH!" while the ring whizzes one or two streets over and then the birthday boy swaggers off to fetch the ring with every other boy tagging along, begging for a turn to throw it next. Children now double check with my son to ensure that he's going to get them an Aerobie ring for their birthday. I keep at least one on-hand for last minute birthday party invites. • COLORS • Out of all the rings we have ordered, only 1 has been pink. We have received 2 orange, 1 pink and all the rest have been yellow. Trying to get a big pink ring for a girl's birthday party coming up in May is proving challenging since we keep getting shipped yellow!

I'm only 10 and this product is awesome for me. It flew very far and it was very accurate. Mine came in pink and purple. Too bad you can't pick your color. Just as long as you avoid trees, you are good to go. Overall, it's a good product. Ok, time for an update. I played even more with it and it still a good product. It flies very fast, and I could throw it about 435 feet off of a 10 year old's (Me) throw before it got stuck in a tree. I've mastered the tree situation, but the wind takes control of 50% of a throw. The distance is spectacular with the wind, but if you throw in to the wind, it is basically a boomerang. The material is very strong but light and overall it's pretty good, a quality product. Update time, people. I played with it even more, and it is great. When my friend and I were tossing it around, it hit a tree at a flaming speed. I thought it would break, but it's too tough for that. The crazy thing is, it flies nice and easy toward you, then it does a weird maneuver. I could talk forever, but I'll sum it up in 1 sentence: Really fast, far, throws, extremely durable, yet unbelievably light, easy to throw, and fun. I am happy about the purchase. ☺☻

Simply the BEST frisbee EVER made! I took my two young boys down to our community pool a couple of weeks ago and there was a young couple there and they had one of these frisbees. The young man was so gracious as to indulge my two little boys and was throwing the frisbee to them and playing with them. My boys are 6 and 8 and they just loved it because it was so easy to catch and to throw. I went the next day to Dick's to try and and buy it for my boys but they were sold out and so I was excited to find it on Amazon. Since it has arrived we have taken it daily to our community pool to play with and have played it with it in our backyard. Just two things I want to point out about this frisbee - first it does NOT float. The sound couple mentioned they lost their first one in the ocean not realizing it would sink. My boys have enjoyed diving to get this frisbee when it sinks in the pool but just heads up it will not float (even though you would certainly think it would) AND it will go far and fast. We were playing with it in our backyard and even though my sons wouldn't be able to throw a traditional frisbee so far that it would go over the fence this one certainly does. It is part of what makes it so great and so easy for my boys but heads up before you lose it over a fence or in the ocean because once you get this you will not want to lose it. A must have for any young family!

We saw folks playing with this on the beach while on vacation in Florida and immediately ordered one for ourselves. When we made it down to our NC beach, we couldn't wait to try it out. We were not at all disappointed. Forget all you know about a typical Frisbee. This thing will go twice as far, if not more, than any Frisbee and it's much easier to throw. Have fun!!

Huge fan of Aerobies - it's easy to throw, can go really far, is less likely to get caught by the wind than a regular frisbee, is fun to catch on your arm like a ring, and the rubber is soft enough to minimize the ouch factor if you miss. Particularly good for people who aren't super coordinated. I cannot seem to control the direction of a normal disc/frisbee and end up more often than not with them landing on my face vs. hand, but can actually play an unembarrassing game of catch with an Aerobie. Wish you could pick your own color, but I could only find them in the "color may vary" listing type. Ended up with the hot pink, which is really bright and easy to see against sky and ground.

This does fly very far and fast, so takes some practice to throw accurately and catch. It flies smoothly but tends to turn to one side. It is made of rubber on a metal ring. Printed on the ring are bending instructions to change that, but it doesn't seem to help much. Still, with a little practice it isn't too hard to get it near a receiver; although it moves fast so when you miss a little it is much harder to chase down than a 175g ultimate disc. It also takes practice to catch as it is streamlined and hits harder than a plastic disc. It you are looking for a good first high-quality disc to play with, go with the 175g Ultra-Star, but if you want something for long distance throwing, this is a great extra disc.

My dog absolutely loves this flying ring or disc. It's easy to throw and pretty easy for him to catch. They don't do too well when you run over them with the lawnmower, though, so that's why we had to finally replace the other one. It stays outside in the yard most of the year and holds up pretty well considering the workout it gets. The dog is pretty good at not chewing on it, though. I'd recommend this for kids or pets or whoever. If you throw it hard these things will go for a really long distance, too. Seems like they go a lot further than a regular frisbee.
