My best shipping tape experience after much searching
My best shipping tape experience after much searching. I package a lot of products and this tape has by far been the best solution. First, I started with dollar store tape which was of course terrible. Then I found some relatively cheap "duck tape" brand packing tape which I assumed would have solved my problems being a big tape brand. Nope. My workshop is cold in winter and that tape would not stick well in that atmosphere and would just curl off the box often. I then upgraded to the more expensive "duck" brand tape that was thicker. That didn't solve it either. I then switched to a less expensive "packaging" tape from Scotch. It was better but not solving the problem entirely. After researching, I learned there is actually a difference between PACKAGING (packing) tape and SHIPPING tape. This shipping tape sticks to my cold dusty boxes and doesn't curl off. I use a tape gun which if I get the pressure correct it goes on one handed. I do for a double check run my hands over the tape to make sure no bubbles or non-contact spots exist. What a difference this tape makes. I did see some reviews noting that it was not sticky. I used over 100 rolls of this over multiple purchases throughout 2016 and did not experience this issue at all. The only thing to watch for is if you are using a tape gun and tear it off, make sure it is a clean cut pressed down firmly. For some reason if you have a bunched up tape end on your box, it makes that entire strip of tape susceptible to pulling off.

Thick tape that sticks to everything
It’s just tape. Not much can be said about tape right? Not this tape, it’s awesome tape. I do lots of shipping from home so I have tried all kinds of tape. The official post office tape, gorilla tape, regular tape, the yellow tape and none of them can compare to this tape. It’s thick and once you apply it to you package it won’t come off without ripping the package or the envelope. I use a handheld tape dispenser and it’s easy to load too. The only negative I would say the tape has is sometimes it hard to get it started. But this only applies to the first pull of the tape. There is a little piece of paper or film so that you know where the tape starts. But it takes a little picking at to get that loose so that you can get the first pull of tape going. It would be nice if the end or the start wasn’t attached so you could easly pull on it. But that’s my only complaint about the tape. Other then that it works great on packages, envelopes, plastic bags, or any other material your package might consist of. Plus I feel you use less tape. I only do 1 dowm and 1 across and I’ve never had lost an item yet while shipping. If the box is heavy I admit that I will do 2 down and 2 across but that’s it.

I learned the hard way why it's better to purchase a well known brand
When my wife and i moved from Florida to New York, we packed up all of our boxes using generic tape that we purchased at Staples. Although it was during the cool season in Florida, we discovered that every box we had packed, the tape was falling off. That's when I first started using Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape. After reinforcing all of the cartons, we were delighted to see that the Scotch brand tape remained firmly on each box. I've noticed a lot of the early reviews of this product where the reviewer states that this tape doesn't stick. While this may have been the case a few years ago, I can tell you that it sticks without issue now. Every item that I send out is sealed with this tape. It works perfectly every time, and under all weather conditions. The bottom line is that you get what you pay for. This shipping tape performs flawlessly and deserves a 5 star rating.

Scotch is the best tape for a move
Scotch tape is the tape to use in a move. I've moved a lot, approximately 30 times, and worked as a mover but found nothing else that held up as well. You should lay the first line of tape down on the box perpendicular to the opening, then evenly across the opening. Follow up with smoothing down the tape for a good adhesion contact and there you go-- a secure box. I only go once across the top, unless the box is an odd one, bulging top for example, again smooth the tape good adhesion. You'll see moving companies using that thin, cheap tan tape. They go through a lot of it because its cheap, doesn't hold as well and snaps when they pull on it. I value my things more and pack them myself and then let the hired "muscle" move them while I supervise. Yes, you can do this and it will save you grief time and money. Tape left over? Save it for those packages we all send out.

The best shipping tape
If you do a lot of shipping, especially returning online orders, then you'll know how important it is to have good shipping tape. I tried to be cheap and get the ones from 99 cent store. Big mistake! They practically don't have any adhesion! I had to come back to Scotch. And to be honest, when they're on sale, especially with subscribe and save, and almost the same price as the cheap no brand ones. So far Scotch tapes are the best in industry, and I use these every week, and they work wonderful!

Best durability and strength of any othe packing tape on the market!
When I purchase anything tape related, the only brand I will buy is Scotch. If there is one thing I can't stand, it's crummy quality tape. Bring on the HD shipping tape from Scotch! I routinely ship things from my small business that are heavy, so having a quality and strong shipping tape for the boxes are a must. There is no doubt in my mind that my packages arrive safely and securely when I'm using this tape. This tape also saves me time because I only need to use one strip of tape rather than 2 or 3 runs of tape with a lesser quality and thickness alternative. This package of 6 rolls is neatly packed in a shrink wrap and it makes it very easy to get a new roll. The tape is noticeably thicker than it's traditional counterpart but still cuts easy with scissors or a packing tape dispenser. Just because I'm a guy and like playing little jokes on people, I used this tape to wrap some Christmas presents this year. Needles to say, it took a while for people to open them!

This is an anti-review of the cheap tape...
Don't bother with the cheap stuff. I've been using the 3M tape for years. I used to ship regularly for eBay and learned my lesson early on. More recently, I boxed up a return shipment using some cheap packing tape laying around. Cheap = thin and not sticky. It was a chore getting the cheap stuff to feed into a dispenser. After continual tears, I gave up and pulled what I needed off the roll. Every time I cut it, it was aggravating trying to find the nearly invisible end and peel it off the roll. Fast forward to the UPS drop-off, and the cheap tape was already lifting off the box in numerous places. Argh. Stick with the good stuff. I know 3M isn't the only game in town, but it's my go-to brand.

My favorite go-to tape, at better price than big box stores
6 rolls at the same price of a single role from the local supermarket (and half the distance of tape), makes this an awesome value. I've checked virtually every big box store and never found another deal on quality shipping/packing tape. The tape is thick and strong. Two strips hold a box for mailing across the country. The tape holds my printed shipping labels on and doesn't wrinkle, so the Tracking # barcodes always scan. It's my favorite go-to tape!

WONDERFUL TAPE! EXTRA STICKY!
This Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping tape has stronger adhesive than any packing tape I have bought in a local store. I ran out of this tape after 2 yrs so my husband went to Lowe’s and bought some Duck’s brand. There was no comparison so I’m back to order another 2 years worth. Besides closing up boxes for mailing or storage, I also use it to get dog hair off of clothing, etc. I’ve even used it on our long haired dog after brushing him and he doesn’t object. Also, the adhesive does not come off on blankets or clothing or dog. This tape works much better than those extra sticky rollers that are sold in pet stores. I just opened up a large box that holds our Christmas tree and the tape had held perfectly despite the box being stood on end for storage. In the past, using other packaging tape resulted in some of the tape not adhering for the full year. Also, the tape didn’t strip any of the cardboard off when I pulled the tape off.

The best packaging tape out there.
Don't waste your time with the .99 cent store rolls. Buy the real deal and you won't be sorry. I learned this lesson the hard way. I used to buy the cheap no-name rolls and they would be difficult to start the roll or my favorite frustrating tactic..the roll stops dispensing tape and then you have use the finger nail to figure out where the roll stopped and then start it again. NO MORE. This stuff sticks well ( almost too well) and doesn't break midway through the roll. Recently boxed up over 40 boxes and the tape held well and does what tape is supposed to do...not frustrate you. Amazon offers it in several amounts, look carefully there is a sweet spot for a certain amount of rolls vs price.
