FABULOUS pan!!!!! NON-stick when used PROPERLY!!!!!
I was hesitant to buy this pan when I read some of the negative reviews... but after looking for 3 months for a suitable replacement 5 quart sauce pan that is a TRUE 5 quart pan, had a STAINLESS lid, AND would NOT break the bank once our stainless pan finally was busted beyond repair. I held my breath & ordered this one. Can I say we LOVE it... I mean LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! It is NON-STICK without the toxic chemicals found in teflon, ceramic, etc. AND we do NOT have to baby it to take care of it- WIN WIN!! In order to get a stainless pan to be non-stick you must use it CORRECTLY though, so don't review this pan whining that everything sticks to it when you didn't educate yourself how to use it PROPERLY. Heat the pan for 2-4 minutes over medium to high heat (it varies upon YOUR specific stove, burner size & speed, etc.), you can drop a few drops of water into the pan to test that it is heated up PROPERLY.. the water should GLIDE across the pan like an ice skater on ice.. if the water glides, then you are good to go... add a bit of oil, then your food, & it should be non-stick. There are some things that stick no matter what of if I OVERHEAT the pan, but almost everything we have cooked in this pan has NOT stuck to the pan. We LOVE it!! To clean it up, put it into the dishwasher or handwash it. If there happens to be food stuck to it or your oil gets caked on, add some hot water & a tad of dish soap, and let it soak for 15-30 minutes. It should clean up very easily after that. I have only had to use something a bit more abrasive ONCE so far (as SOS pad) & that is because it was oil that had kind of baked into the bottom in one area. With very little elbow grease, it scrubbed right out & looked brand new again. We use this pan about 4-5 days per week...sometimes 6-7.. for at least one meal though some days we use it for 2 or 3 meals. It works & works well! I would love to buy another pan down the line so we can cook even faster for our large family. Oh & this pan is a TRUE 5 1/2 quart pan, unlike our last that claimed to be 5 quarts but only held just over 4 quarts. GREAT pan!! I do RECOMMEND it!!

Cuisinart 733-30H Saute Pan - Excellent
I bought this pan in Nov. 2017 and wanted to post a review now that I have used it for a while. I enjoy cooking fried chicken with this big beautiful pan. The diameter/bottom is 11". The height is 3" from countertop to top edge of pan. The inside cooking depth/height is about 1 .5" which is up to the underside of the rivets. This sounds tiny but with an 11" diameter this is a huge area to fill up with food. I have a gas stove, largest burner creates about a 6" diameter flame. Since the pan evenly distributes the heat, I've had no problem with 'hot spots' or having to move food around to get to a hotter surface area for it to cook. - - - - - 1st. Use medium setting to pre-heat pan. Test to see if pan is ready for use. Wet a spoon/whatever and put a 'small drop' of water into the pan. If it has 'boiling water' appearance, pan is ready. 2nd. 'Lightly, lightly' butter/oil pan like if you're cooking eggs. If something like hamburger won't need to. For fried chicken I pour in olive oil to cover bottom surface only of pan and wait for that to heat up. I know pan is ready because I put a tiny piece of food into pan near the 'side'/not center area. Should hear sizzle sound. If not, pan is not hot enough. Let it heat up longer. 3rd. Once the tiny piece of food sizzles, then put food to be cooked into the pan. Once you lay a piece of food into the pan you can't move it at all. It has to stay exactly where it is at. The food has to do a process of browning/caramelizing' on the underside before flipping or moving it. Meat will stick to the pan but will release when this process has completed. - - - - - While chicken is frying I put a large bowl of water into the microwave and heat it up. When done using pan, I wipe out the oil and then pour in the heated water. Moving it around with a spatula, I can release 99.9% of anything that has stuck to the bottom or sides of the pan. Then later or next morning, I'll pour out the water and hand wash the pan. I dry it carefully around the rivets and the lip/top area of the pan. It is said to get a shiny new pan look, clean this with 'Bar Keepers Friend'. I just bought that and haven't used it yet but with so many recommendations all should go well. - - - - - Do search on "videos how to cook with stainless steel" - there are lots of them for all kinds of food / and cleanup. Here's an article on how to cook with stainless steel. http://www.thecookwareadvisor.com/the-five-secrets-to-cooking-with-stainless-steel/ I would buy this pan again and would recommend it to a friend. Also since this pan ships from and is sold by Amazon their return policy for most items is within 30 days of receipt of shipment. > https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?ref_=v_sp_return_help&nodeId=15015721 Pan has a Lifetime Warranty but some people have had a difficult time getting it honored. https://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/f0/f0fb8271-9646-46dd-8726-8a74734b7482.pdf

cleans up easily with --IF you even need to scrub hard
The top review here is from 2003. 12 years later, I bought this because I was tired of teflon that goes downhill within a year and you just throw it out. I was very skeptical. That skepticism is gone after 2 months of use of this pan. I almost spent 8 TIMES as much on a "luxury" pan. Don't bother!! This pan is really awesome-- it cooks evenly, cleans up easily with Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ--IF you even need to scrub hard. As others said-- soak it a while, and most of the food releases easily. We have only used Bar Keepers Friend on the pan ONCE in 2 months of 3~5 times per week usage. That one time was some seriously scorched food-- and it was still a minimal effort to get it looking like it just came out of the box. I can not recommend this pan more highly-- Especially for the price!

Go-to frying pan for large quantities - 5-1/2 qt.
We got this large pan because we were tired of making meals for four, and always having the food we were cooking in our large 12" frying pan flipping out onto the stovetop while we stirred. The vertical sides also help contain the food. We've used this for a month now and love it. If you read through the instructions that come with it, you'll avoid a lot of the problems some of the other reviewers report. The large, flat, heavy aluminum-encapsulated base distributes heat evenly, even though our electric element has a hot spot. The bottom conducts heat so well, that you do have to use slightly lower heat settings than you might in order to keep food from burning on. But that doesn't slow the cooking at all. And the sung-fitting lid is perfect for covered cooking. The pan and lid handles never get too hot to hold with bare hands. Clean-up is a breeze, we just use a green Scotch pad and it comes clean with little effort. You can also wash it in the dish washer. We have had no quality issues at all, this is a great piece of kitchen equipment for a reasonable price.

Wonderful value
Function: We love this pan. It filled a serious hole in our kitchen supplies and now handles all our large meals. We do a lot of fish frying, stir frying, “one pot” meals, and the like in this pan. I love love the large flat space and even heat distribution. Especially for thin fish, this has been great. I also love being able to transfer from stovetop to oven for many of our go-to recipes. Prior to owning this pan, my husband did all the frying and I thought it was because I didn’t know how to do a good job, but it turns out I’d just never had a non-temperamental pan. Bonus: its large size cuts down on the amount of oil that jumps out of the pan and all over the stove and counter when my husband cooks! Cleaning: It does NOT function like a coated, non-stick pan but if you follow the instructions for both cooking and cleaning, your food will not stick and it’s very easy to clean. I despise dishes but I’m always happy to clean this because it usually handles the whole meal prep, so even though I have to hand wash it, I have less to do than most other nights. I use a dish wand (the kind that you fill with soap so you can hand wash without filling the sink) and did feel the need to switch to the non-scratch kind as I worried the regular pads were too abrasive. **If you’ve grown up with coated pots and pans and have never known anything else, do yourself a favor and read the instructions before you start cooking or you will not be happy with this pan.** Value: I bought this as a gift for my husband, who had planned to buy me a much more expensive pan like this, and almost every time we use it he comments how glad he is that I got him this inexpensive option first. We’ve been using it regularly for close to a year and it still looks like new.

My new favorite pan!
I was a bit worried because this pan was such a good price-but when it arrived I was very impressed with the heft and quality of this p an. It has quickly become my favorite pan in our kitchen! It is easy to clean, and cooks food evenly. Plus you don't have to worry about any toxic fumes since it is stainless steel (really important if you have birds in the house!). I recommend this for anyone who has a stove and a kitchen!

Couldn’t be happier, this is a great Sauté Pan
This is a great sauté pan that offers a ton of versatility in the kitchen. I was happily surprised when I first got the pan, you can just feel the quality when you pick it up. And for the price, it’s an incredible buy.

Glass vs. Induction, there is a major difference
This pan is awesome. Heavy but not too heavy..beautiful mirrored finish. Even heating with the aluminum base and a sturdy tight fitting stainless steel lid. I like that this pan is oven safe to 550 and can be used under the broiler. Very handy when making dishes like baked ziti or sautéed chicken breasts you want to finish in the oven. 12 inch, 5.5 Qt size makes it a very large, deep sided pan (3in) you do not have to worry about it holding enough food. Its extremely heavy duty and the additional handle makes it easier to lift. Dishwasher safe. That being said, it CAN NOT be used on an induction stove. Glass, electric and gas are fine! Induction cooktops are completely different than glass to be clear. Water will boil very quickly (90 seconds) on Induction stovetops. Also since the heat is in the pan, the burner will not have remaining residual heat once the pan is removed. Make sure you know both your cooktop type AND the pan you are using BEFORE you buy. Induction cookware will adhere a magnet to the pan cooking surface that touches the burner, if the magnet doesn't stick, its NOT for use on Induction cooktops. Word to the wise.

I've used this pan nearly daily for the last 4 years to feed my family of 6. It's held up well and is my all time favorite pan. It's huge, cooks well, cleans nice, and it's extremely versatile.

Perfect and HUGE 5 QUART Saute Pan
This is a HUGE Pan! It has a beautiful mirrored finish to the pan as well as to it's metal lid. For it's size, you'd expect to pay at least $200 or more. I bought a 3 qt saute pan from Made In costing $131 bucks & it didn't have a mirrored finish; the pan was stolen off my porch (thank goodness my bank refunded me). I took that refund & purchased this 5 qt saute pan from Amazon, that cost less AND was larger than that pan from Made In!! This was an EXCELLENT purchase!!! Thank you, Amazon!!!!
