• 2-IN-1 FUNCTIONALITY: Logs on the ground? Simply detach the saw from the pole to convert the unit from a pole saw into a chainsaw. No tools required!
  • LONG REACH: Designed with a shaft extendable up to 10-feet for high branches. With operator height considered, the pole saw can cut limbs 10-feet to 15-feet overhead.
  • ELECTRIC POWERED: An 8-amp electric motor instantly starts to drive the chain over the low-kickback 10-inch bar and chain.
  • ADJUSTABLE: A telescoping design paired with flip and lock clamps allow the operator to quickly adjust the length of the pole saw so that trimming trees of varying heights isn’t a hassle.
  • PRUNE IN COMFORT: Chainsaw has non-slip grip to enhance comfort and an Anti-rotation pole for stability during use.
  • NOTE: Bar and chain oil may seep from unit when not in use. Remember to loosen the saw chain with the tool-free tensioner if it was adjusted during operation.

Does a wonderful job, easy to use, good safeguards, rugged. Very top-heavy (to be expected, I guess) but a nice design on the pole. My only gripe is the way the saw attaches to the handle--a thumbscrew (which is OK) and a tiny crenellated washer (very easy to drop or lose).

A really good saw. Much better than the ones I see in hardware stores. Not that I could find any at all after the hurricane, which is why I looked on Amazon, but I really abused this little saw getting all of the downed trees chopped up and trimming the ones still standing. The saw ate it all up !!! I did make it a 12-inch saw because I had the bar and chain from my old saw so that helped a bit. I will probably buy another one just so I have a spare. With my luck, they will discontinue this great saw.

I bought this Remington pole saw a few years ago and it has worked very well for pruning trees around the house. I generally find it quite easy to use, although with the pole fully extended it is fairly top heavy and you sometimes need to use a lot of upper body strength to work with it, but overall not that tough. This really is a homeowner grade tool with a lot of plastic parts, but I think as long as you keep that in mind, it should be up to the task at hand. The saw comes with a low kickback chain that has cut well in branches up to several inches in diameter. Resharpening the small chain only takes a few minutes, but replacement chains are also readily available from Oregon and relatively inexpensive. The chain oiler is a manual type that requires you to pump the bulb on the oil reservoir cap in between cuts to keep the bar and chain lubed.I noticed that the 10" bar doesn't have a guide sprocket at the tip like most bars normally do, which would probably help reduce wear and increase the life of the bar. The saw is detachable from the extension pole and can be used like regular chain saw, which I think is a handy feature even though I don't often use it that way. Overall I've been pretty happy with this pole saw. It has worked well and has done everything I have needed it to do.

Very surprised at how well this sa W has performed. It has a very good reach with the extension and though it's made to cut smaller limbs I have cut 15 or 20 10" to 18" full sized trees with no problem. The only problem I have seen is the saw dust chips get stuck in the housing, it needs bigger holes in the bottom for them to fall out. Have used full sized gas saws many times and this cuts right up there with the best of them.

I got this as a gift for my dad, he can't stop gushing about how awesome it is. He is 72 now and he says it is very easy to use and handle. He has no problem cutting big branches off of trees in this hot Miami Heat because this machine makes it so easy for him. He loves to cut down coconuts, papaya, and mangoes off of his trees with this as well. Before getting this, he would just let the birds get to all the mangoes and be sad and complained about it to me often Hahaha. Great purchase.

I've used this saw for several hours which is sufficient to give me an opinion as to its effectiveness and value. It's easy to set up, just use the wingnut clamp to secure it to the pole and off you go, no tools required. It stays put as does the extention of the pole. One easy to use clip on the pole allows you to move the extention in or out and lock it. It stays locked. Use it off the pole to trim off limbs from felled trees or easy to reach stuff. I've found many uses for the saw without the pole that makes to yard work go easy. It's safer than a gas chain saw and lighter. It is durable, it hasn't failed me. I maintain my machines and keep them ready to work, but I don't baby this saw or any piece of machinery. This saw does what it's supposed to without complaint. I pinched the chain in a limb (operator error!) and had to free it with another saw, but the Remington went right back to working without throwing a chain, bending, or breaking. Anyway you ...slice... it, using a chain saw to cut trees is tough on machinery. This saw has chewed through pine, oak, and cherry quickly and easily. When it's at full extention it's a little unwieldy because, afterall, you have a weight on one end of a pole and it will tend to be top heavy. But it is light enough to manuver and keep where you want it to cut and I haven't found its balance to be a problem. It does leak chain oil. In the yard, who cares? In the garage, it can be messy. But also tells you in the manual that it will leak the chain oil and recommends that you empty the oil resevoir when you store the saw. It holds about 3 ounces of motor oil and draining the oil is a ten second operation. Not a problem. When in use, one push of the oiler cap before eash cut and it's happy. It has an aggressive chain tooth layout which helps to slice through even big limbs. It's a ten inch saw, if you need to cut 14+ inch limbs/trees, you'll need a heavier chainsaw that's designed for that purpose. If you use this saw for its designed use, you won't have any difficulty pruning or taking off fairly meaty limbs from a safe position. I recommend it.

I received my Remington Pole Saw two days ago based on the larger number of five star reviews. I understand the frustration by those who gave the item a poor rating based on their reviews. I, on the other hand, used mine for the first time this morning. First chain saw I have ever owned so I took my time reading through the owners manual two or three times. To read this manual is imperative. I would definitely say read and follow ALL safety instructions. Without reading these instructions, a person can be severely injured. With respect to using this machine -- I would agree that with the pole extended -- it is a little difficult to handle due to the weight of the chainsaw on the other end. It was heavy for me to handle so I initially rested the chain saw on the limb I wanted to cut until I was able to brace myself with my feet at which time I pulled the saw back off the limb, got the saw up to full speed (as recommended in the user manual) before contacting the limb to make the cut. This worked well for me. The saw worked flawlessly for me so far. My job was not a large one so I can't say how it would work if it was to be used for hours. My job was to cut oak tree limbs back off my house. I was done in about 30 minutes. I used 40 weight Castrol oil as recommended for temperatures above 75 degrees. Made sure to oil the chain frequently in order to not get the chain too hot. Would like to hear from anyone as to how often and how much the chain should be oiled. The owner's manual states to oil before every cut on the larger limbs(two inches and above). I estimate that it would have costs me at least $100 to have this done by a professional so I figure I already got my money back. Everything going forward will be freebies. I didn't have any oil issues as stated in some reviews. I did pour the oil that was over back into my oil container for next time as stated in the owners manual. I don't recommend this machine for really heavy jobs, but for small jobs of keeping limbs off your house -- I would highly recommend this machine. I figure if I have to throw this one away after another one or two uses -- I will have gotten my money's worth, but I think this machine will work well for me for quite some time to come since I will probably only use it once or twice a year for light limb trimming. As a final thought I would say to try to do a reasonably good job of cleaning your chain saw up, particularly if you're going to set it up for a while before using it again. This will be important in keeping it in good running condition. Lastly, be very careful to keep your extension cord clear of your cutting area. It would be very easy to cut through a limb possibly with the extension cord very near your cutting area. Any helpful comments to this review will be welcomed.

I've used this to take down a 30' hemlock, 30' hazlenut, and 30' flowering plumb. Readily cut through 16" diameter limbs. I keep the chain properly lubed and tensioned and have not had any problems whatsoever. The neighbors are really surprised what I can do with this little saw. So much better than messing with a 2-cycle, and the extension pole is a huge safety benefit.

Beware oil leak hazard! The manual oiler on this chainsaw is bulb pressure fed AND.... GRAVITY fed. This means.... that while the chainsaw is stored it leaks oil. (non stop) I put a Pig Blanket under mine while stored. (problem solved) New Pig Mat Universal Oil Absorbent Shop Roll 15"X50' NOTE: do not store the chainsaw blade up or the oil will leak into the motor. (if the tank is full) This saw draws some current. I am an engineer and if allowed.... demand.... that a 10 gauge extension cord be used for ALL cords over 25 foot. I actually measured the voltage drop in my main breaker panel while using this saw. That which makes this saw work as well as it does is a major current draw. Mine draws 8 amps with a 10 amp surge. I finally used my saw today and it does a really fine job. Best part of all, spare parts are available. Oh !!!! and get yourself these. Oregon Chain Saw Scrench 16mm x 11mm 57-001 for chain tightening. AND one of these for filling the oil tank ACM Economy Wash Bottle, LDPE, Squeeze Bottle Medical Label Tattoo (500ml / 16oz / 1 Bottle) AND one of these for capping off the wash bottle spout. 80 Piece Vacuum Cap Assortment. (one of the caps fits the wash bottle spout perfectly and prevents leaks) AND some oil obviously. Oregon 54-026 Chain Saw Bar And Chain Oil. Please note, I borrowed the neighbors Sun Joe saw before I bought this one. Without going into detail.... I would not own a Sun Joe "auto everything" pole saw because it fell apart just after warranty expired. Neighbor does not use it at all anymore.

I bought this in 2014, first off, it's only $100. So I expect 100 dollar performance. I'm a professional woodworker and own both professional stihl and husky saws. Probably not the typical buyer of this. Anyways when I bought it, I was on crutches from an injury and needed to trim branches over the area my camper is parked before a storm was forecast. This did the job no problem. In the five years since, I use it 3 or 4x a year pruning trees and more often than not thick brush, it allows me to stick the pole in there and avoid ticks, the bane of my existence. Then i use the tractor to dump it into the burn pile. But, it can do large limbs too, this 12" diameter limb with new chain only took a minute.
