Excellent set for photo oils used to paint black and white photos. My daughter's favorite Christmas gift. I only found this at one other online store for $30 more. Love it!!
Marshall's is the only paint that I found suggested in every book I've purchased on how to paint on photos. In today's artistic way of altering everything on the computer, this allows an artist to go back to their head and their hands and play. Gripping photo media better than other paints, with more translucency in order to look more realistic than oil paint, these paints allow you to add color details to a black and white photo so that certain parts "pop" artistically. (Think a black and white photo of a child holding a pumpkin with the pumpkin colored in orange.) When the artist does it, rather than a computer, it feels far more of a creation and an art form. It's not just for black and white photos. You can create really fantastic artistic images and patterns over a photo to make a mixed media work...not just coloring within the lines, mind you, but expanding the work. This allows you to take old family photos and make art pieces and create works that are unique and makes the viewer stop and want to view rather than glance and pass it by And the kit comes with more than just the paint: all you need, including instructions, on learning to paint on photographs.
these photo oils are so amazing! first i got them when i was developing prints in the darkroom, but now i use them on my polaroids and they look so dreamy! i wish i could put a photo example up here. they are super easy to use,,,,you just blend until you get the look you want. they honestly turn your photos into another world so happy with the results!!!
