I purchased this to replace a dry rotted tire that wouldn't hold air. It was much more beneficial (money-wise, time-wise and peace-of-mind wise) to order this tire and rim assembly rather than buying a rubber tire by itself and paying someone to put it on my old and slightly rusted rim. I didn't want to use the plastic spacers that comes with the "universal fit" tire/rim combos....I needed to fit a 6" long axle and this did the trick. The zerk fitting is a bonus..insuring that greasing the bearings and axle is a sure thing. Also, worth noting, the ribbed tread design works much better than knobby tread; it's much easier to make sharp turns with a load, and it rolls smoother. Finally, as an FYI, I am a homeowner that uses my wheelbarrow for almost everything from hauling dirt and flowers, to mixing bags of concrete, to picking up small tree branches & twigs, etc., etc..

Tires were very good quality as expected, and the customer support was beyond expectations!

My father is 90 yrs old and we live on the Florida coast. He is unable to walk and misses the beach. A beach wheelchair is out of our price range at nearly $1000 so I decided to modify a wheelchair myself. I purchased a set of these tires with 5/8” bore, but now realized I will need a second set of tires with a possible larger bore to prevent bogging in the soft sand. I called Marathon and was greeted by an angel named Jill. After explaining my situation, she offered to send replacement bearings for the first set of tires if needed to fit the new bore size at NO CHARGE! I say this with all sincerity, when I’m in the market for another wheelbarrow, it will be a marathon for that reason alone!

Good deal for the price

I bought the wheelbarrow from the Amish hardware about twenty years ago and the tire finally exploded. Since the wheel was rusted I thought it was time to replace the entire thing. This wheel arrived in a couple of days and I put it right on. The wheel quality is at least the equal of the original and the tire is more than adequate for it's intended use. It was even inflated to the proper pressure. It fit perfectly and I was off to the races. The wheelbarrow stays outside leaning up so I'll check back in another twenty years to update this report. I'd buy another if needed.

Get this, not a tube replacement

great value, wish I bought one of these a few years ago instead of a tube replacement that promptly failed. This is easier to install and better quality than a tube. The quality of this tire is way better than the tire that came on my wheel barrow - this one is real rubber, the base tire appears to be plastic. This one even has a grease fitting. Just make sure you get the right diameter Main takeaway, I thought I could buy a new wheelbarrow from a big box for 3x the cost of this, and I could...but it'd have the same poor quality wheel like the one I'm needing to replace. Get this quality tire and wheel and keep the old wheel barrow. I expect this one to last for years and years

Great Replacement Tires

Product was better than the original tires on my salvaged wheel barrow, the sizing information was accurate and complete. Installed the tires in about 10 minutes including using the grease fitting to apply lithium grease to the axle. I did a great deal of price comparison before purchasing these tires and the price was competitive.

QUALITY PRODUCT

I didn’t know there was so many small tires on the market for a simple wheelbarrow, but after looking at 20 or 30 I found the exact fit. It appears to be a very good quality wheel and has the added bonus of a grease fitting, which I immediately gave a shot of grease. I would recommend this wheel without reservation.

Great price and great product

I had a dry rotted tire on my wheel barrow for ages and got tired of having to fill it up everytime I used it. This was too good of a deal to pass up. Tire and hub for less than just the tire on other sites. I did have to cut the axle bracket on my wheel barrow to make it fit since this hub was wider than my previous one. But <5 minutes with a angle grinder and a cutoff wheel and I was back in business.

Great wheel for barrow

Looks to be high quality. Fits as described. Has nice smooth bearings opposed to bushings. Rolls smoooothly. Arrived full of air. Ready to go. Like you, ready to go buy yourself a new tire for your barrow. Please check the distance between the "forks" on your wheel barrow ( well, once you get a wheel, your barrow, will become a Wheel Barrow ) and make sure you are ordering the correct wheel and tire combo.

Quality purchase.

Got the new wheels today and installed them. They are so much better then the original wheels and tires that were on my wheelbarrow. The wheel bearings are a nice feature and makes pushing the wheelbarrow so much easier. The only con I experienced was the grease fittings. They were of low quality. I changed those out with quality fittings and greased it up.

Perfect

Was worried about getting this wheel to fit. But it turned out to be very easy. The axle nuts came off by hand without even needing a wrench. The new wheel/tire works great. The price was below that of local hardware stores. Hope to get 37 years of use from it as I did from the original one that came with the wheelbarrow.
