Well-made and gets the job done

I gave this as a gift and my father-in-law thought that this lid lifter was so nice, that it is hanging in his kitchen as decoration. Not to say that this isn't practical; he uses it all the time when he cooks with his dutch oven over a campfire. The lid lifter is easy to clean (just wipe it down with a cloth) and it looks as new as the day that I purchased it. It is very well made, and worth the small investment for anyone that does not want to burn themselves using a dutch oven

Great tool!

I don't really know what to say in this review, expect, that this does exactly what you want it to do. Whether you are lifting the lid or carrying the whole dutch oven it keeps your hand away from the heat and securely holds the oven. I also find that it easily allows you to dump the ashes off the top of the lid without the lid collapsing and falling into the fire!

Perfect!

I use this for our camping trips. It comes in super handy to help me lift the lid or the pot of my Dutch oven from the fire pit when I don't think my oven mitts will do. I was a little nervous the first time because it didn't feel like it could be stable using it, but it worked beautifully. The design makes for a little more bulk than ideal since space is at a premium when we pack up the car, but not so much that we wouldn't bring it.

lol I love this thing! Yes it works great as a lid lifter. however I have much more fun stabbing the wood!! Ok yes I'm a nutty old woman but getting that wood where I need it to be was painful. Not now with this and my new heat proof gloves

Great Quality, Fair Price

Quality made product for dutch oven and campfire use.

I would not be able to cook with m 20 ...

I would not be able to cook with m 20 quart cast iron dutch oven without this handy tool. In the past, I've used oven mitts and just lifted the lid. I cannot do that with my ultra large dutch oven. This handy tool makes everything easier.

Works as it should

I got this to use as a lid lifter for a 12" Ozark Trail (outdoor) Dutch Oven. It works just fine on this oven. Like others have said the weight of the lid lifter surprised me but i'm glad they didn't make it in solid cast iron or wrought iron! If they did, moving the lid on and off the pot would be much more of a struggle. I've only used it once so far, but I have no complaints.

Great for outdoor cooking

For anyone with a Dutch oven...its a must! Wish I had gotten one sooner!
