Very Cool Toy for Little Minds
Critical thinking skills in use every time my granddaughter loads or unloads the little family from this house and it's many doors. I LOVE that the set of keys is attached so no lost keys/keychain. She carries it around and makes everyone open a door, explaining that you have to match the door and key number so do it THE RIGHT WAY WITH THE RIGHT KEY or else with a 3yo eye roll. ha. Well made - good value. Buy this one.

A year later and it's still popular.
The Melissa and Doug take-along wooden doorbell house has been a big hit with the grandchildren for over a year now. The house (which has a handle and be easily carried) has four doors. Each door is numbered and can be locked or unlocked with a numbered key. The keys are firmly attached to a cord which is in turn attached to the handle. Each of the doorbells has a different ring tone. Four tiny dolls come with the set. After a year, they look a bit the worse for wear but are still intact. This house has been a great resource for imaginative play.

Highly recommended toy
This was initially given as a present from Grandma to my daughter at age 3, and it has been played with for the past 2 years and by my son, age 2. The quality holds up, and has suffered through elements of being taken outside and played with by many hands. It works their fine motor skill, colors, and sensory, and provides a good amount of focus time. Each door has its own doorbell and key to unlock. I love it because it can also become a travel toy which the kids can carry themselves. Recently, I have purchased as birthday gift for another child, and recommended it to a friend for her grandchildren, which she reported back was a hit. She stated her grandchildren have many toys, but this ranked at the top for them.

Keeps them busy for hours!
My almost 2 year old son absolutely loves this toy. He is obsessed with keys and locks, so we decided to purchase this item and it has not disappointed us. He loves to unlock all of the doors and put the dolls in and out of the house. The locks are all made with different shaped locks, so it makes it a little more challenging for the child, which is great to keep them busy. No joke, he can sit there for hours and play with this. The dolls are made each with a different outfit. The colors are vibrant and cute. The only complaint I have is that the paint on the doors will get scratched due to use, but because this item is made from thick and sturdy cardboard, I don't think there is much you can do about that. The handle on the top of the house is very handy for travel (we brought ours on a family vacation and it kept the kids busy when were in the hotel). I would definitely recommend this item to anyone with small children!

Fantastic multifunctional toy that promotes open-ended play.
My 2.5yo son loves this Melissa and Doug Take-A-Long Dollhouse. He loves ringing our front doorbell and he has a toy car where the trunk can be opened with a key that just fixates him, so when I found this toy I was really excited and hopeful that he'd enjoy it. This has quickly become a favorite go to toy. There is one designated key for each of the four doors and they must be placed into the lock facing the proper direction, each key is numbered 1 through 4 matching the corresponding door. Each doorbell has a different shape and sound and the volume is really only loud enough be heard if your right next to the Dollhouse, ie. the one playing with the toy. Which is so nice in comparison to all the large pushbutton, light up, obnoxiously loud toys on market. There are four wooden/cloth dolls that can be placed behind each door or in whatever combination you like. It was difficult for him at first, but once I showed him how to match the number on the key with the number the door he caught right on. He also had bit of trouble realizing the key needed to be facing the proper direction. After the first few attempts with a bit of help he picked right up on it. This toy has made him focus on his finger dexterity and number recognition. Which he picked up on almost instantly, quicker than the months of nursery rhyme number songs. (Which were great for number memorization, but not so much for recognition). This is also a great tool to teach object permanence and so much other open-ended play, ie. When grown-ups leave they come back or don't talk strangers, or always say who's there before answering the front door. He also hides his mini superheroes in the Dollhouse or whatever else wants to lock away at that moment. ( A word of advice, if you can't seem find your car keys, check the dollhouse). I would definitely recommend this toy for any child who has an interest in how things work. My 4yo tried the toy few times, but gets bored with it easily, so it is not for every child.

Great Buy!
My son loves this toy! After having seen it on the YouTube Kids app, he's been intrigued on how the demonstrator unlocks the specific doors with their respective numbered keys. The toy is very hands-on and hones the child's dexterity. My toddler enjoys tinkering with the keys, can identify the numbered keys in respect to their numbered (and colored) doors, he remembers the names of the dolls from the YouTube video. To each her own, but I don't mind watching "educational" videos on YouTube Kids with him. He was able to memorize numbers up to twenty, colors, and the alphabet. The toy needs two AAA batteries for the doorbells, it doesn't come with batteries. Worth the price, well-made product. :)

This product is a great toy for my 2 year old to get the ...
This product is a great toy for my 2 year old to get the hand eye coordination down. She is also learning to match the numbers on the Keys to the numbers on the door. And match the people to the doors. Each door makes a different sound which she also likes. My friend had bought for his son and my daughter loved it so much I had to get her one. My 2 year old loves this house you will not be disappointed.

Great educational toy!
This is a great educational toy. It's made from wood and has vibrant colors. It has four doors. Each door has: -different color -designated number from 1 to 4 -different shape and doorbell sound - different lock with it's own key Each key has a number on it from 1 to 4. There are 4 dolls in whom the color of their outfits match the coresponding door color. My two year old just got this toy and so far loving it. He names the numbers and colors of the different doors as he is trying to open them. He needs help with opening some of them and afew he can do himself. He really tries working on opening and closing these dooors !!! He loves the different doorbells. Its fascinating how much fun it is for him to press them over and over again. The little dolls are very cute.Great for pretend play. This toy keept his attention for a long time as well as teaching him about coordination, matching colors and numbers. Opening and closing the doors with the key can be a bit of work at the start but our child is already making progress.

Fun, with pictures and doorbell. I added my own mod.
Great toy for fine motor skills. I bought this for my 2 year old. Loves the doorbells and birds and cat on pictures. He puts the little people in their rooms too. The keys are a little advanced for his age, I wish they made them bigger and less complicated with the different shapes. I ended up drilling holes into each door and adding it’s own ribbon. I encourage doing it as well if you get this product. Hopefully the next design will have each key by its own door. Overall I’m satisfied but would have probably went with the other Melissa and Doug key toy that has the three doors with vehicles. They looked more age appropriate.

Great "complex" toy to keep your toddler busy
Our little boss doesn't have the longest attention span so we're always on the look out for toys that we can "use" to keep him busy/distract him when the situation arises (e.g. cutting his hair, feeding him, cleaning his runny nose when he's sick, brushing him, guests are over, etc.). This little dollhouse has lots to offer; you've got the (different) key and lock on all sides, a little doll with matching colour outfit inside each locked door, numbers on key and door, and a doorbell next to each door with a different chime. Plus it looks like a little house with a chimney. This keeps him busy alright (well, at least for a decent amount of time). It's also a bonus that he won't figure out the locks/keys thing until he's older so it might prove its use even later on. The quality is the usual Melissa & Doug built. It's typically mostly wood and metal so it says some durability/style, but it's just barely so (the cuts/trims and overall craftsmanship are lacking. E.g. metal parts are thin and they didn't even cut in straight lines for the wooden pieces) so that it's still affordable. Don't get me wrong; for the price, what you get is reasonable yet there is room for some finer touches, but it's completely ok given this is a toy and will take a beating no matter how well it's made. So anyway, we bought like 4 of these for our kid and friend's kids. This and the M&D Wooden Latches Board are our go to "misdirection toys"... at least for a little while they were.
