we've spent hours of end less fun learning and playing together with this system! arrived in perfect condition with everything needed for myself to set it up! looking forward to using it fors years and kids to come:)

great educational toy,your child will love it.

my son loved this toy although hes still too little to actually play the games ,hes 2 years. its really for like it states 3 and up,but thats alright im not sorry i bought it. he sstill loves lookihng at the cartoons just like his shows and still goes nuts to want to play with this game. its a game ba bies will grow into. a good investment and very easy to hook up. i advist to get an extra joy stick it only comes s with one ,and the power pack otherwise youll spend a fortune in batteries.

Daughter really likes this one!

My four year old daughter got this for Christmas and really enjoys it. It's very simple for her to use, she can set it up in the DVD player herself and has no problems changing the sheets when she wants to do a different game. The only problem I had was getting it to work with one of our DVD players. None of the access codes work for our Sony DVD/VCR combination and when I use the manual search, it turns off the TV - but does nothing with the DVD player. Thankfully we have two players!

Helps me evaluate my child's attention span & knowledge

My 2 and a half year old is playing the Barney DVD interactv while I'm doing computer work - I can hear when he answers a question correctly and when he needs help. I am astounded at the questions he gets right - it not only tells me that he can follow directions, but that he has a wider understanding of the world around him then I had ever realized - he doesn't quite talk in sentences yet, so I never know if what I say is completely understood- but when Barney says "Pick the balloons that are the color of the sky" - and he chooses correctly, I know that he knows his colors- AND he understands what the sky is and recalls correctly that it is blue. At first I was disappointed by the reaction time between when you touch a button and the tv recognizes it - there is a small time lag - but Robbie doesn't seem to notice or care. Great toy. Robbie plays with it for at least a half hour at a time - good attention span

They love it!

This is one of those rainy day toys for us. The kids don't play with it every day, but when they do, they love it. We've set it up with about four different DVD players around the house and never have any problems with it working. The kids usually use it with the TV in the bedroom. They sit all the way across the room in bed. I'm surprised it works from there because of the sheets and the angle of the DVD player from where they are, but it does; and when they occasionally have difficulty, they just try and move the sheets out of the way or pick up the InteracTv so that it points more directly to the DVD player. My kids are 5 and 7 now and the 7 year-old still plays with it, even though it`s far too simple for him. We've had it since he was about 4 years old. My daughter was about 2 when she started playing it. The DVD's feature episodes right out of the TV series. You know how Dora asks questions and the kids have to shout the answers back to the TV? Well, now the kids get to answer them! The answers are presented inside shapes on the screen. If the correct answer is in the square, for instance, the children press the Square on their InteracTv unit. They must choose the correct answer to move on. The children may choose to play games only or do the episode or they may skip forward and back. I thought at first the idea of choosing the correct answer by picking the corresponding shape might be a difficult concept for kids; but from watching my kids, the average 3 year-old should have no problem. My 7 year-old recently asked for me to buy more game packs, so I went online to get Spongebob. We own about 4 other game packs and the kids play with all of them. This is a terrific educational toy for preschoolers.

Great product for the money!

I just got this as a Christmas gift for my little boy. When I looked at the product in the store I was amazed that for under $35 it came with over 100 interactive questions and included 3 different shows and cards of Spongebob, Dora and Elmo to start out with. My husband and I did a test run with it to see what we thought of it before I made a decision to buy any extra dvd's to go along with it for Christmas. The setup took about 15 mins. we had several different codes to try out with our dvd player, but once we got the right code it was simple from there. We tried out the 3 different cards that came with the Interact Tv. The first card we tried was the Elmos World and it starts out just as if you were watching Sesame Street and then you get a chance to answer questions on the cards- its simple to use! Its a fun interactive way to teach your children. The controller was far off from our dvd player and it worked fine. I did'nt even have it pointed directly at the dvd player and each time I pushed a button on the interact tv controller it worked. My husband did'nt like the interact tv as much as I did. He likes the Vsmile much better- as do I, but the Interact Tv is a little cheaper and would be great to take to Grandmas house since it has 3 different codes you can store in the interact tv controller for 3 different tvs- smart idea for Fisher Price! The controller is simple to use, just touch the cards on the controller. The questions is simple for children 3 and up. All in all for $35 I think its worth every penny. A surprise to me when I opened up the package to try it out, I found a nice hard plastic case to hold the dvd and the cards that came with the system. That was a nice extra that came with this product. Its a great way to let your child sit and watch tv without them just sitting there, they actually get to answer questions and learn at the same time. A great product for winter time during snow days or days to Grandmas house.

A break you can feel good about!!!!!

I researched this item a great deal before purchasing it. My daughter is 2 going on 3 in a few months, and she likes all of the nickalodeon cartoons and watches them often. But I wanted her to have someting a little more interactive, instead of just dead tv time. This system is super easy, she can practically do it herself. Sometimes I need to help her through something or if she doesn't understand the question she tells me she needs help and i can just rephrase it for her and then she is agian on her way. It is a great break to get a little done and not worry about what she's in or what shes up too. She plays the games over and over again. We have only had the game disc it comes with and the Barney's Birthday party. Both are great for her age and I think they helped as starters to get her used to what she was supposed to do. For her birthday in March I am planning on buying a few more to go along with it. They come with their own hard case to store it in, what a reliever. That's part of the game for my daughter, putting them back in the case and on the shelf when she's done. Great toy, great price!!!!!!! Very educational!!!!!
