Frozen raw food + Puppy Kong = Puppy Heaven
Frozen raw food + Puppy Kong = one happy and occupied baby girl. She's 4 months old. Great for short errands where I leave her in the crate for a couple hours. Great for those times I just need a break from the relentless puppy watching. Great keeping her busy if I bring her to work. Great for long car rides. Keeps my baby girl happy for a good hour straight. It's also warm and basically already summer here in CA, so the frozen Kong has worked so well this past week. ***Also been great for soothing her inflamed gums due to teething! Best of all is the price. The big name stores sell this at much higher cost. I basically got two from Amazon for the price of one at the big name store. So while she's chomping on one, I can have another one in the process of freezing, keeps a great rotation going.

Greatest dog toy of all time
The puppy Kong and classic Kong are the greatest dog toys of all time. If you don't have one, I don't know how you survive the puppy days! I have 8 of the various Kong toys in my freezer and give one to my puppy every time I leave the house or need a moment's peace. You can use them as snacks or feed all of their meals in them. There are YouTube videos and online instructions with endless possibilities for filling these. If you are in a hurry, plug the small end with peanut butter, fill it with kibble, add a little water or broth, then plug the big end with peanut butter and freeze it! It will keep your puppy busy for 30 minutes. I like to use chicken and canned 100% pumpkin for a lower calorie treat. Oatmeal, mashed sweet potatoes, lean beef, carrots, bananas, strawberries, anything that is safe for dogs to eat will work. If you don't have time to freeze it, just put a few treats in and let the puppy work on that. It's one of the only toys I will leave with my puppy when I can't supervise her. She even likes to play with it empty. Just a great toy. Every puppy should have at least one!

but I will in case there are other clueless puppy parents like me. My little one is a Maltese and ...
Thank god for Kong toys! Really, nothing else needs to be said, but I will in case there are other clueless puppy parents like me. My little one is a Maltese and was 7.5 wks and 1.5 lb when I started using the puppy Kong in the extra-small size and he did great with it. He's tiny so he's pretty easy to handle, but every now and then he gets the puppy "crazies": zooming around, unable to focus because he's so excited, playing too hard and unruly...and he's smart: puppies are like sponges so it's important to teach good habits. I'm currently using the Kongs to help calm him down. I fill it with the softened kibble we're transitioning him over to (and eventually to dry kibble) and place him in his kennel with a Kong. It forces him to calm down as he focuses on getting all the kibble out (sometimes he gets it all, sometimes he doesn't...and sometimes, he squeaks a little bit if he can't get everything, but he keeps at it!). In about 15 min, I have a calm puppy that's ready for the next activity or for sleep. I do plan on keeping Kongs in my arsenal for his lifetime--there are so many methods and fillers (easy internet search to find options). I know he's a prissy breed, but prissy breeds need to learn settle down and be able to have focused, independent play just as much as more robust breeds, so I'm thankful to have some Kongs to help him do that.

Amazing!
Our 17-week old puppy has never loved a toy so much! We adopted her from the Humane Society at 8-weeks old and her teething/mouthiness (biting our hands, clothing and feet) was a nightmare. I should have caved in and bought this KONG toy then instead of waiting until now. The pics show a good estimate of the size of the toy--I purchased the medium puppy toy size. Our pup's breed is Catahoula Leopard Dog mix--according to the Humane Society wherewe adopted her. She should grow to about 40lbs. At her age now, (a little over 4 months old) the medium puppy size is perfect. Overall, it's a great product! I only wish I could have requested a color preference.

Kong is the bomb.
Prefect for a busy puppy! For an Australian Shepard puppy, the medium may have been too small, but by the time she's too old for the puppy version, I'll get a bigger size. There are tons of Kong treat recipes. Our current favorite includes crumbled up Milk Bone treats, puppy food kibbles, chicken jerky treats and then seal it with cheez wiz. A friend of mine recommended stuffing the Kong with shredded chicken and other treats, then sticking the Kong in the freezer. Supposedly the frozen food makes it more of a puzzle. I'm going to try that when I have the larger size. I have washed this on the top shelf of my dish washer, haven't noticed any problems with the integrity of the Kong. Great buy!

I have always loved kong toys
I have always loved kong toys. I purchased this for my Chihuahua terrier puppy, and this is one of his favourite toys. It is durable and bite-resistant, which makes it the perfect ball since I can leave him alone without worrying about him chewing it up. When he is acting especially curious (and therefore prone to find paper to shred), I fill this toy with peanut butter or small puppy treats and it keeps him busy until walk time. I also like that this ball bounces in unpredictable directions, which make for more interesting games of fetch.

I am horrible at reading dimensions
5 stars - It is a KONG and it does exactly what you would think. But.... I am horrible at reading dimensions, just like I'm sure 99% of you are. So here is a picture of the small KONG for puppies. (If you have a larger puppy, do NOT get the small, he will choke on it). I have attached pictures with a regular sized gift card for comparison.

She's a chihuahua and it's the perfect size for her
My puppy Dobbie got her KONG in the mail yesterday and she loves it! She's a chihuahua and it's the perfect size for her. It arrived early and is exactly as described.
