My cat brought home an orphan chipmunk at 2 weeks of age and I have raised it. He can now safely run all over the house with 4 dogs and a cat. Thought this might be too big or too heavy for him but it's actually perfect. I have had no issues with the lid coming off.

My younger siblings' hamster likes this thing a lot. so far it has not been broken. And in a way, it is funny seen the hamster in it, since once he knows he is inside it, he runs like crazy. We know he is not trying to scape because we have left him be with out the ball and all it does is sniff where he is going, walk for a sort time, then starts to sniff again. This turn out to be great too since he got big to the point that he no longer fit on the wheel on his cage. We have to let him out since the cage is small too.

I purchase a new ball for our hamster every 3-4 months. She runs in it nightly around our house. There have been a few times she's escaped by the cover coming off, so we always reinforce it with 2 little pieces of scotch tape. We have hard wood floors so, over time the ball gets scratched up and dull looking, so that's normally when we replace it. We're not picky about the color, so we always order from Amazon.

I bought this for my son's robo dwarf hamster. He loves the extra room to run around. Always supervise your pet when they are in the ball. One time the clasp wasn't secured on fully & the little guy almost got out. The ball offers uninhibited movement. When he runs into something, he simply changes course. Unfortunately, he is attracted to strong smells--like my son's shoes!

Before the exercise ball, Hammy was pretty skittish running about the apartment, with us having a dog and all. But now from the safety of the Exercise ball, he roams about the house with abandon. The dog however, thinks of ball as a toy with a chewy center, and loves chasing it around the house also. It keeps them both occupied pretty well.

My hamster didn't escape from it while I was doing dishes, so I'm happy with it. The first time I use it I watched her to make sure she wasn't trying to eat the plastic, and it was all good. Make sure your hams are fed well!

This is my favorite hamster exercise ball! I bought another brand recently at a local pet shop to replace this one and it didn’t latch tightly and my hamster got out of it easily 3-4 times within a week. So I returned that one and reordered this one which I had had previously. It latches very tightly and allows the hamster to run, run, run for exercise and be out of his cage to enjoy time with our family.

This is a pretty sturdy hamster ball that is more than sufficient for it's intended use. As an add-on-item the cost was really reasonable, about half of retail, and it arrived on time and as packaged in stores. I initially tried to find one that wouldn't leak if the little guy went pee while running around, but it just isn't that easy to find one that seemed like it would both work and be okay for the animal. My daughter and I put the hamster in this 7 inch ball and he ran around our kitchen and living room like a nut. It was lots of fun. I recommend this product. It is well made, easy to use (and clean) and we have enjoyed it.

I ordered two of these for my daughters hamsters. I ordered two pink ones but ended up with one pink and one blue luckily one of my daughters said she liked the blue so we kept it. They are good size and much cheaper then what you can buy them for in the store I priced them at the pet stores as well as at Walmart. I have been happy with this purchase.

Our hammies loooove these balls. I have two Syrian females, one standard and one teddy bear, and they both fit well in these and just run, run, run! My kids (age 5 and 7) love watching them roll around and so do I. The hammies get fantastic exercise and seem to love exploring the house. They quickly learned that if I hold the ball up to their open cage door they can climb right in on their own, and it is telling that they do so almost every time. The more they have used the balls the better they have gotten at steering them. We got them for Xmas 2015 when they were young, and they are already great at navigating. At first my youngest female was hesitant to get in and hesitant to roll, but now she is a pro. Just be careful to put a barrier in front of any stairs and don't let them get stuck on a heating or cooling grate. The glow in the dark feature seems not particularly useful, but the balls are easy to see-through and both we and the hammies like that. The lids slide and click into place; we have only had a lid come off once, and that was when I let my kid put the lid on. I recommend having an adult put the lid on. Because of other reviews, I used scotch tape on the lids at first, but now I don't bother. The balls wash up very easily in the sink with a little soapy warm water and are holding up well, even with my kids' not-too-careful handling. Two thumbs up!
