I adopted my first kitten and was told she was 6 weeks old, but the kitten would not stop suckling on everyone's shirt! I decided to purchase this milk replacement just incase she was younger than I was told/weaned too early. I've used it for over a week now and my kitten loves it! She has had absolutely no problem with drinking it from a bowl. I mixed it by hand with warm water. She has done very well, and there is no constipation or diarrhea like others mentioned. Just follow the directions on the can! Overall, we are all very pleased with the product. Update: After using this product for two months, and now weaning my beautiful Katniss from it, here is proof that she is alive, well, and continuously getting into mischief!

We rescued an abandoned kitty, and although we have raised kittens before (we rescued a pregnant mamma) - we have not bottle fed an abandoned kitty before. We bought this PetAg Kitten Milk Replacer, powdered formula, out of desperation and after a quick look on the internet! Our little kitty (now named Pumpkin) - was only a few days old, still with his umbilical cord attached. He took to this KMR without any trouble at all. We took him to a vet for a check up and to make sure we were doing things right. He weighed 4.3 oz at a few days old. At about one week, he weighed 8.5 oz At 2 weeks, he now weighs 11.8 oz. He is healthy and growing well. Yes, he feeds about every 3 hours around the clock, but his eyes are now open and clear, his fur is soft & healthy, his pads, mouth & nose, a healthy pink. This formula seems best made up fresh each feed, although we do put some in the fridge for overnight use (I am just home from major surgery). His poops are soft but formed, and he urinates copiously at each feed. All good signs he is in good health. We did try the liquid version of this KMR, and although Pumpkin took that without complaint, it did make his stools much looser. So we switched back to the powdered version and he has settled once again in that department :-) We were novices to trying to bottle feed a tiny kitten. But so far, with the help of this KMR, we are all doing well & the vet is happy with his progress. I totally recommend this!

I was really worried from some of the reviews that this KMR would be impossible to mix because of clumping. I am assuming that the reason they do not recommend using a blender to mix this is so that air isn't whipped into the formula possibly causing painful gas & bloating in the kittens. Having used many freeze dried and dehydrated foods in my lifetime, I am very familar with frustrating clumping & lumping when trying to reconstitute a powdered product, like powdered milk, or powdered cheese. One way that doesn't use a blender that I find the most helpful is to make a slurry - so instead of mixing all the water with the dry product all at once, you just add a little bit of (warm) water to the powder, stir with a small whisk to create a smooth "slurry", then slowly wisk in more water until it is all incorporated. I used this method with the KMR and it worked like a charm! I had no lumps, clumps, or bumps! When I was mixing this up for my postpartum "Queen", another one of my cats who loves all things dairy, was meowing at me to let him have some. So it must smell good to some cats! I gave him a small saucer and after examining it for a few seconds he drank it all up. I then gave some to my exhausted mama kitty who just birthed 6 kittens, but wasn't ready to leave them yet to eat, or drink. (And I couldn't get her to drink any plain water presented to her in the kittening box.) But the KMR she was interested in right away and drank right up! She seemed very happy to have it as well. Because of intense curiosity, I tasted the KMR formula and it tasted very similar to dehydrated whole milk. It was very mild tasting and smooth, not pasty, or weird, and it actually tasted better than every dried milk product I've ever tasted! So that's really saying something! Overall I am very pleased with this KMR powder. It is way more nutritious and easier to make than the homemade diy kitten formula using Karo corn syrup & powdered cow's milk that I used on 4 orphaned kittens in 1991. I think the price is reasonable too.

I have a very sick, adult cat. He is FeLV+, diabetic, and has been struggling with parasitic anemia. Getting him to eat is the biggest part of our fight, followed only by getting all his medications in him and coping with the side effects. I had hoped that he would eat wet cat food with this KMR mixed into it, but no such luck. Nor would he drink it on its own. But, this product includes pre and pro-biotics that he needs, plus the vitamins. fats and protein. I have been squirting 2 to 3 mls of KMR down his throat twice a day for two weeks now. He is feeling so much better, I think it is totally worth it. He is back to jumping around, sleeping comfortably (no gasping) and swatting at my other cat. His quality of life is the most important thing for us, and this seems to have made a huge difference. I highly recommend it as a supplement for a sick cat.

Please check my other feedback to see that I'm a real person. I see many complaints about lumps after mixing with a spoon or by shaking it. I use a small whisk and a stainless steel bowl and have NO problems with lumps at all. I don't know if the stainless bowl makes a difference too - maybe a glass bowl with a whisk would work as well. Ren was found by our trash cans a month ago in 105 degree weather and was severely dehydrated. She was about 5 weeks old and weighed just over 10 ounces. Though she could eat wet food I also gave her this milk a few times a day and she loves it so much she'll still getting it at 9 weeks old. She's now 2 pounds and healthy! Hope this is helpful for those having that problem.

We rescued an abandoned kitten. When she was found, her belly was concave and her ribs protruding. It was heart breaking but we were determined to nurse her back to health. We got her this milk and gave it to her on its own and then began mixing it into her kitten food so she was getting the necessary nutrients that she had lacked before. She slowly put on weight and has been great ever since!!

I purchased this not for kittens but for my old cat who is 16 and was losing weight due to a waning appetite. He is not sick, he is just getting older and needs more coaxing to eat. I seem to need to provide more variety and this powdered kitten milk has come in handy. I have found that for my cat, that if I take a scoop of the powder and mix in just enough water to make it the consistency of baby food he loves it. He does not care to drink it as milk though. It works out well for us and my cat continues to hang in there. He has not had any digestive upset from eating this. Thanks for reading my review. If you have questions feel free to contact me though the comments. I always respond as soon as I can :-) Becky Brooks *While I review a good deal of sample products I did pay full price for this food

I've raised two abandoned kittens on this. It works well, they both seemed to like it. Now if I can just get my friends to stop giving me tiny kittens! (I may or may not be joking here.) I mixed this using a protein shake bottle with a whisk ball. I didn't have any clumping issues, using that method, for whatever that is worth. Immersion blender is easy, too.

We rescued two kitties from CL people who clearly had no idea how demanding kittens were. When we got Nairobi and Cortez they were tiny and malnourished...they'd been pulled from their mother far too early. Luckily KMR proved to be exactly what they needed! Both kitties are now thriving and more mischievous than you could ever imagine! They love when it's time for some kitty milk!

I purchased this for our old cat when she lost too much weight due to anemia. She loved this formula and it did the trick. She's put another 2 lbs back on (up from 4 lbs) and looks cute with a milk beard. Surprisingly, she's the only cat in the house that can eat it. The other 3 vomit after drinking it.
