We shopped all over for the perfect bass before finding this one. My boyfriend loves the sound and says it is easier to hit the low notes.

I fell in love with the bass as an instrument and scoured the Internet for the perfect bass to accommodate the specifics I was looking for: -A natural, yet unique look -5 string for the environment I play in -Great intonation -Good tone control This bass delivered these and so much more and I'm overjoyed I chose this as my first bass and I will continue to use it for many years to come! The strings included with it lasted me a good two months and had a warm, yet present tone that was easy to work with. When I restrung it, I actually differed from the traditional 5-string set up and went with the regular 4 and then a high C (on six string basses) instead of the low B. I was worried the nut wouldn't handle it well, but surprisingly it works great and is still my setup to date with super bright light gauge strings and then kicking the low end up on the eq. Overall, I'm in love with this bass no matter how many others I come to possess.

The best bass guitar I have ever owned or played. Has an even tone across all frets. Intonation is spot on, easy action, no buzz from the frets. Remains tuned for several weeks.... and I could go on and on.

This bass is phenomenal. For the price its hard to beat. I know what I like when it comes to basses and this has them all. Satin everything, 35'' scale for the low b, and a good set of electronics. To top it off the flammed maple looks very nice with the gold hardware. Taking all this into consideration I bought the bass without seeing or playing it before hand, and it fully exceded my expectations.

I am very excited about this bass. I love playing it. The only bad thing is that I am not spending any time on my guitars.

The blemish on this 'used' instrument was very minor: otherwise it looked and worked like new. This was a very good deal and the instrument met all expectations.

One of the best Bass guitars ever owned. Very smooth, and this golden edition is very detailed and looks great!!! Great Deal too!!!

I was looking to buy a stiletto extreme 5 but the price of the custom dipped below the price of the extreme so I jumped on it. The bass came setup really well in tune and the intonation spot on the body and the neck are really high quality. The frets are high polished and the ends are finished really nicely. The preamp it's a little noisy but i don't mind. The neck is nice shape and the thing plays fast. The action is nice and low and doesnt buzz if you play it appropriately. I got the natural finish and I love the matte finish of the bass. The to e quality is very good. Well worth the money at full price but a steal if you can get it on sale. It's not a four figure instrument so you can't judge against one but it is really really nice for the money. I think any negative reviews are from people who expect way too much from a mid price range instrument.

Schecter continues to impress with the quality of their instruments and highly competitive pricing. The Stiletto Custom-5 is no exception. The online pictures really do it justice but fail to show the gorgeous wood grain. The added gold-tone hardware kicks this bass into aesthetic bliss. The sound and play is no less pleasing. The pickups deliver clean powerful tones from smooth to growling. The satin finished neck is silky smooth with an out-of-box setup that required only a quick tuning. The body design flows with contoured slopes to keep it comfortable for extended play. I pair this with the TC Electronic BG250 1x15" Bass Combo Amplifier and could not be happier.
