Please don't let the Negative Reviews sway your decision to purchase this Quality Product! I was initially excited when I found this product to use with my propane torch as a way to tote a 20# tank while burning weeds. I really liked the look of the design, but after reading some of the negative reviews I was hesitant. So I researched for other similar products and found this is the ONLY propane dolly that is (1) US Manufactured (2) All Welded Steel (3) Under $100.00 AND (4) Not Imported and Full of Plastic! Other models are Smaller, Primarily PLASTIC or are Larger and Expensive Commercial-Use models. So I decided to take a chance and order it. Upon opening it up I was really, really pleased with the old school American-manufactured quality! The frame is nicely welded with a good coat of paint and the wheels are of heavy duty steel and rubber with Rugged and Long-Lasting Sleeve-type Bearings. This is the way products used to be made in my Dad's generation,...... Very Reliable. Prior to installing the wheels (Using Common-Sense), I applied a coating of Marine Grease (not Oil), to the axle PRIOR to installing the wheels. It would be a good idea for the Manufacture to should suggest this in the assembly instructions, but it is NOT Necessarily Essential. Even if it squeaks, who cares, the Heavy-Duty Wheels will last and last. Your not towing the thing down the freeway! I am AMAZED and PLEASED that Flame Engineering Inc. offers this dolly for only $59.00 and that Amazon carries it, being such a Simple Solid Quality US Manufactured Product!

I got this dolly to go with the company's VT 2-23 SVC torch (the one with the squeeze valve to switch between pilot and high output). This is very easy to assemble and appears well-made and sturdy. I use it with a 20 lb propane tank. The company indicates it is also suitable for a 40 lb tank. That is probably pushing it. 40 lb would probably be fine for a smooth surface, but possibly not for an uneven area. Some reviewers have complained about the wheels. This has 7" non-pneumatic wheels with a 1/2" axle. My wheels have ball bearings which can be oiled from the side. Some reviewers complained about squeaky wheels and the wheels only having a sleeve bearing. Perhaps this has changed or maybe some of reviewers do not recognize a ball bearing wheel as it can look like only a sleeve. If the bearings are not oiled, they will squeak, particularly if they have been allowed to rust. These are modest plastic tire wheels with metal hubs. For very uneven terrain, I can see someone might want to swap these for wider and larger diameter pneumatic wheels. That could require some modification of the axle to allow for a wider wheel, but it should be doable by changing the inner wheel stop (a new axle should not be required). Some reviewers complained about the push-on retainer cap on the end of the axle to keep the wheel on. I don't like these if they are cheap and weak, but this seems fairly heavy duty. I think it will stay in place, but if it loosens, I would drill the end of the axle and use either a hitch pin or cotter pin. The one complaint I agree with is the less than robust plastic strap and buckle used to secure the tank to the dolly. It is probably adequate for a 20 lb. tank, particularly if it is used only on smooth ground, but certainly not for a taller 40 lb. tank. I added a very heavy duty bungee tie down cord and looped it around the vertical handles of the dolly and hooked the cord to the handles on the propane tank. By have a cord high on the tank, it greatly reduced tank wobble. But other than this minor shortcoming, I would give this dolly high marks for strength and ease of use. The torch holder is also very handy. I may add something that allows storage of the flint striker used to light the torch.

I haven't used it yet for the intended purpose, but I've assembled it in anticipation of spring, and I'm very happy with it. I'm a lady in her late 50's, and it wasn't difficult to assemble. I don't have axle grease, so I used vasoline, and it worked fine. This is essentially a small, one-handed hand truck with a long tongue, so I've also found an alternate use for it. I tried it out for moving medium size planters and it worked. I have a rubbermaid garbage can mover for the really big planters, but I tried out this dolly on an XXL terracotta pot, and it worked great. Rolls along nicely. I think it will be perfect for its intended use of carting around propane tanks.

This is a GREAT product. I almost didn’t buy it given some of the negative reviews. VERY well made, sturdy. Wheels are perfect and high quality. Surprised to get this kind of high quality American made product at this price. Was purpose designed for your weed burning torch and it works perfectly. If you have a weed torch and you’ve been lugging your propane tank around by hand you will be happy with this purchase.

A friend lent my wife her Red Dragon and it solved a long-standing bone of contention in our house. Several years back, my wife bordered the mulched flowerbeds and shrubs surrounding our house with a line of bricks. It is quite attractive. However, I was required to walk the 250 foot perimeter with a weed-whacker to keep the edge trim. This job was too much for one battery on our electric weed whacker, So I was forced to use our always-dripping-oil gas weed-whacker--once or twice a week. But the wife is happy to burn a grass-free zone (about 6 inches wide) in front of the brick border and--voila!--I no longer must use the week-whacker. And she only needs to re-do the burn about once a month. HOWEVER, you need a dolly to carry the Gas cylinder, and I bought the Red Dragon CD-100 Propane Cylinder Dolly, also from Amazon. I gave both 5 stars.

OK, I can’t compare with some of the hysterical reviews, but I agree with them wholeheartedly! This think is awesome! I have a huge paver patio and two 50 pager walkways that have always been a pain to de-weed. Wish I bought this thing 10 years ago!

I loved how well this killed our weed issue along our rock wall. It also did a great job of killing cottonwood suckers. It’s not a cure-all for weed control, but does make up your yard look great for a bit. Roots go deep, so don’t expect weeds to be permanently removed. But if you want your yard looking nice for an event, this is thr tool! And it does seem to erraticate the tree suckers.

This is one of the best products I have found for weed control. I live on a hobby ranch with a large organic garden as well as horses and dogs. So many people around me use preemergents or post emergent chemicals to kill weeds. I don’t want that stuff around. This works great!! Don’t have to worry about the chemicals effecting the animals or garden. Easy to use and super natural and effective.

If you're using the torch with a 20-lb tank you definitely want one of these. I'd hate to tote a 20-lb tank around the property without this cart. Easy to assemble, easy to use, and it provides neat storage for the whole system.

I’m so glad I bought this in spite of poor reviews I saw. It is excellent! I’m partially disabled and have absolutely NO problems managing this little truck even with a full tank. If I had one wish it would be that larger wheels would be attached. That is the only reason I gave 4stars instead of 5 for maneuvering.
