I have a pet squirrel and she chewed up the plastic bottle in zero time! This one is squirrel proof! And she cant get to the parts of it to chew anything...even if she wanted to. The glass has a solid weight to it and the spring system to hold it on the cage makes removing to refill very easy and fast!

I’ve tried 3 other types of water bottles and those didn’t work out. These were the only ones to not have significant leaks, and the little bead doesn’t get stuck in the nozzle. Other ones I’ve tried, I’d have to shake the bead back down. These ones work great! That being said, I do place the nozzle in between two grids in my c&c cage for stability. A zip tie also works. I like that the bottle is clear, and you can see exactly how much water is left. Plus glass is better than plastic!

Lixit is my favorite bottle, albeit a bit more expensive compared to the Living World or Super Pet bottles. It hangs better through cage bars. for those who say their bottles leak, etc. Here is a bit of advice... I use glass bottles on all my rodent cages, as with any water bottle, you must make sure the washer is properly seated to prevent leaking. Use a pointed object like knitting needle to press the washer down evenly if the bottle is leaking. The washers will come loose during refilling, so turn the bottle right-side up over a sink and watch to make sure that the drips slow and then stop. Test the ball-bearing by tapping the end to ensure that water does come out. Do this EVERY time, with EVERY water bottle no matter what brand. I have owned rodents for over 15 years, there is always a chance of getting a water bottle of any kind that will not work properly. Lixit has an excellent track record for me. I was a bit disappointed that the two bottles I ordered from Amazon were missing the floater (the green turtle) though. I plan on writing Lixit and asking for them because it makes it easier to judge water levels when the bottle has a bright float in it.

This is a beautiful water bottle that holds enough to last my male guinea pig almost 2 days without refilling. The glass is high quality and rinses out easily. The bottle neck and spout are slightly larger than our previous smaller plastic water bottle, and the bottle brush goes in easier for cleaning. The water comes out a bit faster, but the ball does a good enough job keeping the water in. I always check the flow by turning it upside down and pushing in the ball before putting it in the cage. Sometimes I need to adjust the rubber ring inside the cap by making sure it's in all the way, but I've never had problems with leaks. I put it in a $4 metal bottle holder that I already had, and it fits perfectly, holding the bottle securely in place. I love it.

I purchased this one after I dropped a couple different brands and broke them. Compared to some of the others I've tried, this product is way SUPERIOR. Unlike many who have issues with the water dribbling out of the spout or difficulty of pets being able to use their bottles, this one has none of those issues. The only thing I wish that came with the Lixit brand was a floating animal trinket to make it easier to see the water line. Luckily I saved mine from the previous container I had.

So far this water bottle is perfect! The seal is super tight and I haven’t noticed it leaking at all. It fits fine in my chew guard water bottle holders (I think they are Kaytee brand), it’s just a little short to use the bungee on the holder. Luckily you can use the bungee that comes with this bottle to secure it to the holder if needed.

I bought this bottle because I wanted my rats to start drinking out of glass instead of plastic. The fist week I had it I kept their old bottle in the cage just incase this one didn't work but the bottle works great. The securing spring works fine for me because my bars are vertical, however, I can see how it would be a problem if your cage bars are horizontal. The bottle came with a pink lid instead of navy and there was no plastic floater in mine.

I love this water bottle! I got this for my two male rats and it's a wonderful size (they drink a lot) and I don't have any fear of them breaking it due to chewing! The spring that is given to hold up the bottle is a bit tricky at first, but if you place it just right on the cage, it is perfect. I have had to move it a few times, but I have found the perfect place to hand it and I can easily slide the bottle in and out to fill or clean. Definitely recommend for rat owners.

This is an excellent water bottle. Reminds me of the ones years ago that worked well and were dependable, unlike the plastic ones being sold all over by the top brands. This bottle never stops working, the vacuum stays, and I don't have to worry about my pet not being able to get water out of it, like the six other plastic bottles I tried from different brands over several weeks. I highly recommend this glass bottle. The tube is wider, and I think that's why it works so well and the water continues to flow when the animal drinks. My pet had to shake the last plastic bottle we tried and he still couldn't get much water out before the tube would dry up. Rarely saw air bubbles coming up with the plastic bottles, but this bottle has excellent water flow. And it doesn't drip at all once the vacuum sets.

Works fantastic for my pet who likes to chew through water bottles (went through 3). Have had no leaking issues or any issues with securing it to the cage with supplied metal spring. I did however set it up so it rests on a crossbar for support.
