Great rotary blade mat, my other one just got old. It was nearly 20 years old, a testament to Olfa quality. Poor packaging. Loose in a big box. Also had a new rotary cutter in there, but I did not know it until i checked on other pkgs pending in my account. Pulled the box out of the recycling. It was thrown in the box, loose, no padding, packaging beat up. Lucky it was a sturdy item, or it would have been smashed to bits. amazon........good idea to wrap small items in bubble wrap and tape to larger items. Also, stuff the box with paper to pad the journey to the customer.

I had an olfa Mat for years as a dedicated seamstress for all my family’s clothing needs. Times changed and I wasn’t making our clothes anymore or crafting so I sold it. Boy do I regret that! A few years after I finally got rid of it I decided to get into leathercrafting. I needed it back. But I was getting into a whole new field and the costs were high so I chose to cut corners, see what I did there?? I went with a popular scissor maker’s brand take on the olfa cutting mat. WOW!! My first cut I knew I’d made a mistake. What the Fisk are you kidding me!! NOT self healing, AT ALL...just a plastic sheet. FFW & I’m finally back to my true love. olfa, I love you!

I especially like that it will measure a FULL 36 x 24 inches plus the edges. My original was not quite that big. I also appreciate that the big logo is Not in the lower right hand corner like on my original large cutting mat. Having the area in the middle with the 1/2 and 1/4 inch marks is a welcome feature. So happy to have this. It was expensive but worth it. I would recommend it.

Saw this Olfa mat at my quilting class and used it for a project. It was recommended we purchase this size by our instructor. I did not realize it was so BIG - plenty of room to do the biggest project. It came securely packaged and I was able to use the cardboard for another project - felt like I really got a bonus! The mat is large and of good quality. It was much cheaper than in the store. I can not wait to start my quilting project using this mat - lots of room to cut. Plus the measuring lines are easy to see and read - you do not have to wear your eyes out trying to read the markings. Very satisfied.

This mat is just perfect! I had looked at several mats before I bought this one, both online and in the stores, but either the price wasn't right or the size wasn't great. I ran across this one on Amazon and it seemed to have everything I was looking for. It's a great quality mat with clear measurements and a good surface for rotary cutting. The size is perfect for my sewing table. It's not flimsy or cheaply made. I read some reviews about the smell of it, but the only smell I noticed was something like plastic for just a few days and it was gone. I certainly wouldn't let that deter me from purchasing another one.

I'm a hobby seamstress and designer, and I don't know how I lived before discovering self-healing mats and rotary cutters. I have this mat and one in a smaller size (18" x 24"), and while I love them both, this size is perfect for almost all of my projects.

I am an Olfa fan from way back, and have been using their mats since I started quilting. They are pricey but worth every penny. You see other mats out there which may be thicker, have more layers, or are less expensive...NOT WORTH IT. And Amazon has the best prices around, not to mention superb customer service.

I've got two of the Fiskars self-healing mats and needed to buy a new mat because they just weren't healing like they were supposed to. They had a lot of rough spots on the mats and it was getting harder and harder to cut with my rotary cutter on those mats. After reading numerous reviews, I decided to buy the OLFA and I've been very happy with it. I've only been using it for about 3 months, but so far it's still as good as new. The cuts made by my rotary cutter do seem to vanish quickly and the mat returns to its new condition. I may need to order a second one and go ahead and replace my other Fiskars mat. I'm very pleased with the OLFA.

Bought this to replace my old mat. I love that the measurements go all the way to the edge of the mat and that there is a line across the middle that measures 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 inches which helps when cutting smaller pieces. I also like the small grid that has marks for even smaller pieces (that smaller grid is not shown in this picture). FYI the mat in the picture here does not match the lines that are on my board. It does not show the same measuring lines that are on mine.

My off brand cutting mat was getting old and nicked up pretty badly. I had heard rave reviews from people about the Olfa mat and as I've been quilting much more as my children have gotten older, I thought it was time to upgrade. This mat is much more absorbent than my old one and the cuts with the rotary cutter heal immediately. It also seems easier to turn the fabric on it but holds it just fine for cutting. My next purchase will be an Olfa rotating mat.
