I wish this came in bigger sizes. That’s the only negative thing I have to say about this ointment. We do not just use it as nipple cream in our home. If the baby’s lips or cheeks get chapped we use it and they are better within hours. Diaper rash or bottom irritation, we use this ointment and it is gone by the next diaper change in most instances and next day for sure. We had a case of terrible rash from antibiotic induced diarrhea...are normal diaper creams weren’t working and she screamed when they were applied. This ointment glided on with ease, easy cleanup, no running to get off and has the monsterous rash cured within a day and a half. As far as my nipples...I used this from the start thanks to a friend’s recommendation and baby shower gift. It soothes instantly, allowed me to get through the first 3 weeks of skin transition that happens with breast feeding and then as a touch up here and there for irritation from pumping at work. I never had a case of thrush, never cracked, and never felt I was allowing my baby to ingest something harmful. This stuff is a staple in our home now. Don’t hesitate, get it! You won’t regret it.

Sooooo much better than the crap they give you in the hospital (lanolin). Don't waste you time trying all the others. I just saved you weeks of soreness. Just get this one already! I wish I had it from the beginning. Sadly, I didn't. It took blisters for me to break down and try this based on the recommendation of other mamas. Why was I so stubborn? Ugh! I'm glad I have this now. I even used it on my baby's face for her baby acne she got around week 3/4. Within 2 days, it was gone. Get this!

Great stuff. It's the consistency of chapstick... think like a jar of Carmex or one of those EOS eggs. Since it's that consistency, I can see this tiny jar lasting at least a year. There is hardly any smell to it. I apply it before bed but if you wait like 5 minutes it would be soaked in enough to put a bra on.

As soon as I was pregnant, I experienced serious nipple pain. We're talking the fabric of my bra felt like razor blades. For right around $10 this instantly soothed them, so was consistent about putting it on after every shower. I'm now 8 months pregnant (and just got my second little tub!) and other nipple changes are happening, but this cream is helping! I'm happy that I've already got a go to cream for nursing to prevent / heal cracking that can happen. And I don't have to worry about my newborn ingesting it since it's not full of harsh chemicals. This is definitely my pregnancy secret weapon that I happily recommend to all my preggo friends. For such a small investment, it makes a big impact in my every day comfort.

This has been a life saver. My daughter was born and was labeled an aggressive eater and we were having latch problems because of it. She destroyed my nipples in a 24 hour period and my lactation consultant gave me the Medela stuff.. it just wasn't helping much and my nipples were scabbed and bleeding. So I took to the internet to look for some magic cure and stumbled across this stuff. Lots of great reviews from bloggers and the reviews on Amazon seemed promising. So I ordered it and waited in anticipation. Once I received it I immediately applied it and felt instant relief! I was surprised and told me husband I could feel relief!! Fast forward a week later and I'm healed up! I still use it because the nips get dry but it's a godsend.

This product is amazing. I had been using Lansinoh religiously since my baby was born (now 3 weeks ago) and have been nursing and pumping (to keep up supply) and my nipple pain/discomfort was turning towards extreme. I was beginning to wonder if I had thrust/yeast infection on my nipples and was debating whether or not to call the doctor but decided to wait until this product arrived and give it a day... wanting to avoid an antibiotic or anything that might disrupt the breastfeeding. After the 2nd or 3rd application of this cream my nipples already were feeling better. The rawness and pain I was feeling is non-existent now. That being said I know this cream isn't a cure or treatment for thrush; which, I clearly didn't have. I also was familiar with the symptoms and had experience with thrush after my 1st child was born. I did look up and check my child and myself to see if any other symptoms were present before deciding to put off the call to the Dr. If you do have symptoms of thrush, or your child, and/or there is any problem with nursing I recommend you call your doctor and lactation consultant immediately. I think all mothers who are nursing should keep this cream on hand. It should be a staple and don't even waste your time or money on lansinoh/lanolin cream. The Motherlove Nipple Cream is a little oily and I have noticed some discoloration on my nursing pads (but it was there after the lanolin oil as well) but that is to be expected. However, once you wipe your finger off after applying your skin is no longer oily which is nice after a 3am nursing session and not have to stumble to the bathroom to wash your hands.

I am a first time mom and I was worried about breastfeeding after hearing horror stories of moms saying their nipples were so sore that they cried during each breastfeeding session. I have been breastfeeding my daughter for one week now and I have to say that this nipple cream is doing wonders since I don't feel any discomfort when breastfeeding. I am using this along with nipple shells ( and not nursing pads) since they allow my nipples to breath between feedings It is also important to note that a proper latch is essential in order to not get sore nipples in the first place

Like many new moms, I experienced a lot of soreness after my first few breastfeeding sessions. My lactation consultant recommended plain olive oil, which I use at night and when I pump. But between daytime feedings I stick to Motherlove. It is a thicker "jelly"-like consistency and feels so nice on dry, sore nipples! It does sortof rub off as a previous reviewer mentioned, but won't anything rub off if you put nursing pads or clothing up against your chest? I was sore for about two days after beginning breastfeeding and since then it has been great. I attribute this success to my keeping my nipples lubricated and moist at all times. My advice: keep a jar of Motherlove - which is small and perfect for purse or diaper bag - at home and one in your on-the-go bag. And one at the office if you work! It really provides relief for new moms and I'm glad I trusted the Amazon reviews. **UPDATE: 9-24-13 I have to brag some more now that I'm nursing a second baby! I have tried a couple of other products (Lansinoh and Earth Mama Angel Baby nipple butter), and Motherlove still takes the cake. The consistency is so perfect and something that other companies can't seem to match. I LOVE the jelly-like consistency of it; not too flaky like Earth Mama Angel Baby, and not too stiff like Lansinoh. Also, I know it looks expensive - about $10 for an ounce, BUT it is SO worth it! This stuff lasts just about forever. I breastfed my first for 8 months and now, on my second baby, I am just now running out of my first jar and came back to order another one and update my review. I am a loyal Motherlove customer!

I love this stuff! It is sooooo much better than lanolin, and has tons of uses! I hate using thick greasy lanolin when this stuff pretty much just melts and soaks in to do an awesome job of moisturizing and softening. I know lanolin is safe for my newborn to ingest, but I feel so much better knowing he's not getting a side of oil with his milk. I have also used this on rashy areas on mine and my daughter's super sensitive skin, and it also works wonders on chapped skin. My 18 month old has allergies and gets super red dry skin around her nose from blowing it so much. This clears it up very quickly and gently, without hurting or burning on that super sensitive painful skin.

It’s funny the items I packed in my hospital bag the second time around....REAL essentials! Not a bunch of onsies or....make up! Hahaha silly first time mom me! Nope, this time around I packed real life postpartum essentials and this balm was one of them! Saved me from the first few weeks of “toughening up” the nips! I’m 7 weeks postpartum and now am nursing and using a breast pump. Works great to soothe and condition the nips. Great that I don’t have to wipe or wash it off every time babe needs to feed. Also helps with making pumping more comfortable.
