This literally saved our vacation!!! We bought this on a whim just hoping for the best and I can say this did everything it was supposed to and more!!! I would recommend this to anyone who has broken something and wants to swim. My husband broke his foot a month before we were going to Punta Cana with our daughter and some friends. We were so bummed and almost canceled the trip. My husband then decided to make the best of it so we got a knee scooter which was so much better than crutches and that worked well to get around the huge resort. Then we thought about swimming and I googled cast covers and this came up. Watched a video on it and we thought what the heck. Worth a shot and it was very inexpensive. He used this in the pool and in the ocean!! It worked wonderfully and kept his cast clean and dry the whole week. He used it every day!! Best thing we did was get this!! Please see pic of him in the pool with this on! Can't say enough good things about this product!! : )

I took this in the ocean on a paddle board while wearing my boot and stayed dry. I could feel the seal give a little if I tried to move through the water too quickly in a direction that forced water into the seal, but considering I logged several hours in the water over the course of a week and my boot stayed dry I have no complaints. I'd recommend to the manufacturer making the bottom of the cover flat with a heavier surface (or another product) which would allow you to walk around with it. I'm 6'1" 230 lbs and was able to get this over a walking boot and did not feel it cut off circulation.

I broke my foot six days before our family beach vacation. I was put in the walking boot / aircast and would not be able to get in the sand / water, etc. I purchased this (large 1/2 leg) and it worked perfectly!! I wore it 6-9 hours per day for 8 days in a row and it was still going strong, no tears or rips or holes and it kept my boot completely sand and water free. I was very careful when putting on and taking off the cover, but with some mindfulness, I had no issues with tearing or anything. It was a complete savior for the vacation. You can completely submerge with no issues as well. I highly recommend this product!

People - you need to leave at least 4" or more of the top of the boot to adhere to the top of your leg/skin. It's not going to work unless it can create a suction-tight seal to prevent the water from seeping down into your ankle/foot. I found this product to work perfectly. Before I trimmed it, I made sure it had at least that much extra at the top. I tried it on my other foot first. I then put my foot in that had the surgery, pumped the air out of it using their built-in squeeze bulb and showered. Perfectly dry afterwards. Yesterday, I went in the swimming pool for 45-minutes per the boot instructions. This is to keep you from sustaining any vascular damage. Again, my affected leg and foot was dry. I do not have a cast - just a very large wound that was stitched, bandaged, and wrapped. I didn't kick or splash - I wouldn't recommend that. Just consider it enough relief to be able to get in with your friends.

This product is unbelievable. Drug store models are a complete waste of time and money. I bought this for my dad for Father's Day. My dad was in the process of losing weight and injured his leg. A hematoma led to wound that is still in the healing process due to also being diabetic. He cannot exercise and again is at 350+ in weight. Swimming works for him and he really enjoys it. He has a pool at his home but has been unable to use it due to wound. What seems like a simple little apparatus has moved mountain in my book. The fact that my dad can do something besides sit in s chair and can actually do something he loves is priceless. This thing has brought him back to life. His wound Dr has also asked him to bring the product to his next appt as she is very interested in it for other patients and for herself (she actually has a wound on fee leg too). I honestly thought this was going to be another fail especially because of his size and the low cost but I was completely wrong. This product is priceless considering the physical and emotional benefits it has had for my dad! Thank you so much for this product!!!!

After problems using plastic bags and special tape (soaked one cast and got a second one damp), I tried this product. So glad I did! Given the cost of replacing a cast, this was a very affordable purchase. I only use mine for showering. It's a strong, thick latex rubber and I can't imagine trying to get it on by myself. My husband stretches it over my cast, and even though he regularly works with his hands, he said it's still a workout. Once you suck out all of the air, it's easy to see that the seal is still intact throughout use -- if air can't get in, neither can water. It's tight, but not uncomfortable. After my shower, I fold it over a hanger and let it dry. Observations & Recommendations: Good for showers. Might be okay in a pool or spa, but I wouldn't risk it. You can only leave it on for 45 minutes anyway, and that might be pushing it because it's very tight (and it's supposed to be). Photos show someone surfing -- ridiculous! There's no way I would want this in sand & saltwater. Besides, rubbing it against a surfboard (and even the force of the surf itself) would cause the seal to break away from the skin and open it up to the water. Don't do it.

Our son broke his foot at summer camp, three weeks before we went to the Caribbean. We went on vacation, wheelchair and all! This saved our trip! I wrapped the cast with an ace bandage (to avoid sharp edges from where he has worn out the cast due to crawling), and then put the boot on and sucked the air out. He was able to swim in the pool and our resort had one of those sand beach chairs so he could get in and out of the ocean. He missed the smaller version by a half inch, so we went with the adult. There was a lot of room in there, but it was ok for him. After about three weeks of use, the area by the white nozzle began to wear a little and some dampness would come in, but had he not crawled in it, it probably could have been avoided. He probably used it at least 25 times before it started to wear down.

My boyfriend cut his foot and had to get stitches 3 days before we left for Jamaica. Seeing this thought i would give it a shot so he could enjoy his vacation too. This was the best purchase for the whole trip. Very durable, went cliff diving, snorkeling, just lounging at swim up bar, never lost suction once. We were very active on our trip and it did get a little hot so his foot would sweat causing moisture inside his boot (stitches were under his toe couldn’t bend his foot). But washed it every night. Looks a little goofy but definitely worth it to be able to swim or walk in sand without getting Contaminated water in his open wound. Definitely would purchase again if needed.

I’ve had other clear leg bags that failed causing infection. This blue rubber bootis amazing. Daily showering and swimming safely CAN be achieved! I’m 6’2” tall and wear a size 9.5 ladies shoe. The large size had plenty of room for a full cast and then some. You will need an extra set of hands to stretch the opening around a cast but once over the ankle it pulls right up. I like the air removal system for swimming, otherwise your leg floats up. Great product and well worth the price.

I am currently 7 weeks into 8 weeks of a non-weight bearing cast. I had surgery on my foot and ankle that required a cast below the knee for 8 weeks followed by 2 weeks in a walking boot. This cover has literally saved my sanity! I have always relied on working out as a means to deal with stress and the thought of doing next to nothing for 8 weeks was making me crazy. Since 1 week post-op I have been using this cover 5-6 days a week for 30-35 mins of lap swimming in addition to using it daily for showers. I did have some problems in the beginning with small leaks probably from around my knee. My husband came up with the idea to add a shammy at the top of the cast to help seal the cover and provide a buffer if water did leak in. Since we added the shammy I haven't had a single problem and my cast has stayed completely dry. I would highly recommend this to anyone in a cast for any length of time. It is durable and well worth it!
