Great puzzle for preschooler
My 3-year-old and I really like working on this puzzle together. (She can't do it alone. I expect a 4-year-old could. The recommended 6-9 age seems too old.) I think the size of a floor puzzle gives her more of a sense of accomplishment than a standard sized puzzle. The pieces link nicely so that you get a bit of the next person as you go around the circle. (The last piece of the American boy links into the Chinese girl so you know which character to look for next.) The pictures of kids from other countries gives a segue to the concept of people from other parts of the world. And they list the country names, so you don't have to feel like an idiot. ;) Melissa & Doug never let me down. This is another good, quality toy.

Great puzzle to introduce geography and culture
I love this puzzle! Saw it in a classroom I worked in and had to buy one for myself. The flags and cultural clothing are a great way to introduce geography to preschoolers. I have used it to draw our own flags on notecards and find the countries on a globe. The round continual nature of the puzzle helps even three year olds look at the box and see which child comes next. The bright colors of the clothing helps children to focus and put together one person at a time. Love Love this puzzle!

Favorite Gift Out of Dozens
Recommended age says 6 and above, but we gave this as a birthday present to our 3 year old granddaughter. Although she had tons of other presents, this is the one she begged to open, and couldn't wait to get to work putting it together. She loves puzzles, and this one really got her attention. With just a minimum amount of help (most of it was not needed, and in fact, the adult helping may have slowed things down a bit) she had it together in short order, and, to our surprise, took it apart and immediately started over. It is well made, with large pieces that are easy for a young child to handle. The puzzle is colorful, and the nice thing about it is that it will be educational as she gets older and learns more about the various children represented. Great for parents as it's size will keep parts from being lost. Melissa and Doug seem to know just what children really want. Wish we all had that ability.

Good quiet time activity. Often involving great conversation about people, countries, world...
great big pieces. big puzzle on the floor. my 4.5 yo enjoys this. we got this when she was 2.5 yo. It's not something she plays with everyday, but it's certainly something she enjoys. It's a nice quiet activity we can do together sometimes (usually when the younger one is napping). It always leads to great conversation. I like that some of the countries represented have men wearing "dresses" as that helps lead the conversation about how not everyone has/follows the same rules. There are different cultures/societal norms etc...

Such a great and fun learning tool for kids!
This is a really fun puzzle for preschoolers and even younger kids (one of mine is 2.5yo). The puzzle is huge and is meant to be assembled on the floor, which the kids love, but the pieces are also large and easy to put together. Both my kids are able to do it together, though it's easier for my 5yo, and they both have fun and enjoy that it can be done on the floor, and is circular! What a fun puzzle. I love the conversation starter that the puzzle is. We can talk about all the different countries and clothing and ethnicities in an approachable way for children. High-quality pieces that go together easily and won't fall apart. The box is also sturdy. I highly recommend this puzzle, especially for the price!

Kids love it
The circular design adds a bit more challenge to my four-year-old students but they loved it and were very much satisfied after completing this puzzle! They also had fun observing the different clothing of each child in the picture.

My kids love it!
What a neat puzzle! My children (ages 2 and 4) have really been getting into puzzles the past few months, and this one is a fantastic addition to their collection. I love that it's round, and poses a little extra challenge for them. I also love that it teaches diversity, and that we can talk about different countries and how people dress differently and may participate in different activities in other countries. The pieces are a perfect size for little fingers. After three times with help, my 4-year old can now put the puzzle together by himself, which makes him very proud! It's also held up well to repeated use. Another neat thing about the puzzle is that each "character" piece has a little corner with the outfit of the person next to them, so if you're working on Denmark, you can see you'll need Germany next, etc. Overall, highly recommended for all puzzle lovers!

Perfect for four -year-olds! More challenging than rectangular puzzles, and a great conversation starter.
My daughter purchased this for her preschool classroom, and she says that it is great! Puzzles are really good for teaching fine motor skills, and forming the neural connections needed to build later math and problem-solving skills. This is a more challenging puzzle for little ones, as it is round, instead of the usual rectangle. This makes it really unique, too! My daughter has a few of her 4 year old preschoolers who are ready for this puzzle, but others who do not yet have the skills, and will use this puzzle later in the school year. She really likes that this puzzle includes a variety of people pictured, allowing her to also have discussions with her preschoolers about celebrating differences, and finding similarities. A larger version of this that included more people, would be a great additional puzzle!

Challenging but still fun
This shape puzzle is a little more challenging for my granddaughter, but she enjoyed it. The colors are very bright and the pieces are sturdy and easy for small hands to manipulate.

Lovely
What a wonderful puzzle! Sturdy, durable, and with a meaningful picture. It teaches preschoolers about flags, traditional costumes, and geography. Who could ask for anything more!
