I carry a lot of stuff in my pockets, so I appreciate any streamlining. The Zippo slim does need to be filled more often than the larger Zippo, but once you develop the habit of how often it needs another little shot of fluid for your level of use, you're set. Reliable, reasonably windproof lights from one of the most dependable names on the planet. The solid brass is nice, tho I do wish they hadn't stamped "Solid Brass" on it. But the protective lacquer has worn off mine now and it's starting to get the look and feel and character of brass, which I dearly love. If you love a good thing well-executed, if you love years and years of dependable use, you'll smile every time you flip open the top and spin the wheel. You can feel the quality. The precision. It's a Zippo.

I have owned many different styles of Zippo over the past 30 years and it has been my experience that the Solid Brass Zippo is Zippo's most reliable lighter. I don't know why being solid brass makes a difference, but the solid brass lighter doesn't feel as cheap as others in the Zippo line. When you roll the wheel to light it, the solid brass Zippo has a more tactile feel to it. I've had problems with other non-brass Zippos being less than 100% when it comes to lighting every time. Why is there a difference, I don't know, but for me, there just has been. For me, it's Solid Brass Zippo or bust. Unless someone can show me a non-solid brass one that can perform as well, this is the only lighter I will buy.

You can go just about anywhere in the world and people will recognize the iconic "click" of a zippo lighter. Their durability and dependability are unmatched and backed up by a lifetime warranty! I dont even smoke and wont leave the house without it. All of this is made even better with the high polished brass finish and lid that is stamped "SOLID BRASS". Through the years Ive owned several different zippos and this is by far my favorite. Its been carried for several weeks now and has already started to get an awesome patina that will only get better with time! This was originally purchased so I could run the Thunderbird Butane Insert in it (reviewed here https://www.amazon.com/review/R23FROSLYMZ7WD/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm) but it turned out to be junk so I sent it back and put the regular insert in it.

Purchased the armor series plain brass finish. This is a lighter to pass down to your kids. Same quality I have come to know and expect from a legacy lighter manufacturer. Great case, fit and finish is spot on. Brass does dull out within a few carries but I think it gives it a nice vintage look, and it gets lots of comments. Not as many as my Navy Zippo but almost. Good lighter, good price. If you dont have a Zippo you have an inferior lighter my friend.

THIS IS BY FAR, MY BEST ZIPPO PURCHASE EVER! THE CLASSIC VENETIAN CASINO INSPIRED DESIGN IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. THE DESIGN IS ON THE LIGHTER CASE ITSELF WHICH HAS A HIGH POLISH BRASS FINISH. THE DESIGN IS ON BOTH SIDE (FRONT & BACK) OF THE LIGHTER. THE FRONT SIDE HAS A BLANK SPACE FOR ONE TO ENGRAVE THEIR NAME OR INITIALS WHICH I PERSONALLY FEEL IS COOL. USING IT SINCE A WHILE, AND I MUST SAY - THE BRASS LOOKS TOO GOOD AFTER ITS STARTS TARNISHING. THIS LIGHTER HAS A LOT OF CHARECTER AND WILL SURELY STAND OUT. NOTHING COMES EVEN CLOSE ! A MUST HAVE FOR SERIOUS ZIPPO GUYS. I WOULD GIVE IT 6 STARS ON A SCALE OF 5. THE ULTIMATE . CHEERS

So, I've had this Zippo Armored Brass lighter for about six or seven months now, and I carry it with me just about every day. From riding in my pocket and repeated handling the original high polished shiny brass finish has developed a fine tarnished patina which gives it a vintage appearance, and that is exactly how I like it. It really doesn't get used much, but I like having it in my pocket and packing it around and I do use it every Sunday night when I smoke my weekly cigar. Yeah, I know that true cigar aficionados would roll their eyes at the thought of lighting a fine cigar with anything other than a stick match, but I'm no cigar snob and the Zippo always gets the job done. Today I loaned it to the concrete worker guy that's helping me pour a parking pad and who is cutting me a helluva deal on the project. I guess you could call him a chain smoker, and the first thing this morning he asked me if I had a match. His eyes lit up when I handed him my Zippo and he began to reminisce about when he had a Zippo back when he was in the Army many years ago, and so on. He carried my lighter in his pocket for most of the day. He liked it. He's really treating me right on the cost of this concrete project, and seeing how much he liked my Zippo, and how often he used it to light up a smoke, I thought I'd get him one just like it. As an Amazon Prime buyer I reckon I'll have it for him when we dump the mud in the hole on Wednesday.

Great quality, great price. Can't go wrong here. The armor series is really nice. I have around 10 zippos ranging from the 1940s all the way to recent years that I normally rotate through on a weekly basis; however, I have only used this lighter since I purchased it. as it is my new favorite lighter. Only thing I would change is the insert. I would rather see just a standard steel finish on the insert instead of the brass finish. It wears quickly and looks unsightly compared to some of my other steel inserts that have been used for far longer. The armor case is awesome. Tight hinges and lovely deep sound when it is clicked open and shut. I have sent many lighters into zippo for repair over the years and the friendliness that zippo shows through their warranty program is one of two reasons why I always carry a zippo. The second is that they are still manufactured here in the U.S.

What a surprise, this is far better in person. Workmanship is fantastic. It’s a Zippo What do you expect. PERFECTION!!!!

Bought this along with 2 others as well as the leather ZIPPO Lighter carrying case,(belt pouch) as a Christmas gift for my brother .Absolutely beautiful piece...as is to be expected when purchasing a true ZIPPO, For those of you who are not aware, ZIPPO will stand behind their products until the day finally comes that the Earth is flung out of the solar system...100 years from now, your grandchildren could take this ZIPPO outside and smash it with a hammer....and ZIPPO will gladly either repair or replace the lighter....for free...no questions asked! NOW THAT IN QUALITY AND SERVICE!

ALL Zippos are actually made of brass, except the solid silver and gold models. So when you’re holding a “brass Zippo”, you’re holding unadorned honesty! No chrome, no paint, no plating, no glued-on bits. You can keep it polished or you can let it age and patina gracefully. With brass you can even force a patina if you like using a variety of techniques. Brass can be as low-key or blingy as you like. It’s also easily engraved if you wish. Gotta love Zippos. Simple, useful, rebuildable, adaptable.
