use along with the OEM-style gasket to ensure that the water pump wont leak along the gasket-perhaps ruining the engine. one half-ounce tube will do one water pump, no more-or a thermostat and water housing. don't expect to get more than that. it's a silver-grey paste that you put on the block-then put the gasket on-install the pump next with a coating of silicone seal on that, torque with an inch/pound wrench and let it set. don't re-torque once its an hour old. this might be good if a gasket is unavailable for a car-it will seal properly without a gasket-do research on the Net on how.

Works
Water pump install...no leaks...it works. Follow directions exactly! Do not apply and immediately install (tighten down)- follow directions...let it get tacky (sticky) before tightening bolts.

Worked great
I love this product, I didn’t realize the tube was so small though. Check before buying of how many ounces you need to ask and what size.Works well, spreads out evenly, seals well. Tube is very small. For a small block ford Windsor there are two full gaskets, one for the pump to backing plate, other for the backing plate to timing cover. You will need two tubes.

An awesome tool to have in the arsenal 😉
Fast shipping, this is great to have around in the garage. If you're into doing your own work like me, this can save you time in ordering parts online. There's a couple things that you can use this for if you don't have the correct gasket on hand. The pictures should help you in judging the size. You should be able to complete an engine rebuild with just one tube.. and have some left over. Thanks for the smooth transaction.

Great product as always
I use this anytime I do certain water pumps, and as always it's never let me down and has sealed perfectly. I always prefer to have the peace of mind in using a good product to make sure my seal is perfect rather than risk it and have to do the job over again.

When i replaced a waterpump in my 2002 Dodge Ram i used this to put around the Gasket of the pump, it works very well and theres definetly enough to do a waterpump and the thermostat. Its been a couple months and no leaks and no problems. Worked well

Awesome Stuff! Just what my washer pump needed.
It's exactly what I needed to properly seal the new pump I installed in my washer. I tried regular silicone at first and failed miserably. This is a situation of just getting the right part for the job. It's a small tube but more than enough to handle the job that I needed. Most importantly my new pump can pump without spitting water all over the place now. :) Well worth the dough and I can't recommend it enough.

I'm very glad I used this, and would recommend
I used exactly one tube of this when installing a new water pump, in conjunction with it's included rubber ring gasket. It was the perfect amount, and I will likely use this every time I install a water pump. After reading the many opinions on the interwebs, I wasn't 100% sure about using this in conjunction with a rubber gasket, but decided to give it a shot. Upon removal of the factory water pump w/rubber gasket, I discovered the obvious residue of an RTV silicone substance, so I'm glad I purchased and used the Permatex 22071.

Works great!
Used this stuff in place of a traditional gasket for the thermostat housing on my 1987 Plymouth Gran Fury with a 318. The material was easy to work with right out of the tube and went on in a small bead easily. I assembled the housing to the manifold, finger tightened the bolts, came back an hour later and tightened them up to spec. 24 hours later I flushed and filled my coolant and ran the car for a couple hours straight on a hot day and all was well - not a drop of leakage. I had my doubts about going "new school" on an old school engine but it worked very well.
