What a perfect item for little ones
This was a Christmas gift for our 20 month old granddaughter. She loves it. They have it in the house, so they did not fill it with sand, instead it is filled with a combination of feed corn and beans. So, it provides a fun table to play in without getting sand all over the house. Frankly using this indoors will make it last a lot longer than if you put it outside and left it there. But it can go outside if you want, and that is what our kids plan to do when summer hits. Then it will get sand. But each fall it will come back in the house and get the corn and beans in place of the sand. The lid "table top" is nice as well because it provides a great place for our granddaughter to have a solid table surface to play on. The height of the sand table is also perfect, it allows her to reach into it without trouble and yet it is tall enough that she can sit down next to it and play in or on it. Great product, great present.

Great purchase!
This is perfect for my sand loving 2 year old! Very sturdy! Perfect height and the cover offers great protection from the rain and our cats! Made with thick, quality plastic!

I run a home daycare and this table works perfectly ...
I run a home daycare and this table works perfectly. I bought two, one to have as a sand table, the other as a dirt/construction table. The lids work to keep out rain. Those complaining about this must have not secured the lid properly. There is a bungee cord on both ends that secure onto a hook. I owned an older version of a similar Step 2 sand table, same type of lid, never an issue.

Perfect as a Sensory Table!
I purchased this to use as a sensory table for my almost two year old and five year old. It's good quality and extremely easy to put together. Perfect height for the younger one. My 5yo is able to play well with it while sitting on her knees. The table is not as deep as I thought it would be, but that's not a huge issue for us. Plenty of room for multiple children to play and explore. We purchased a 2oz pack of water beads (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008W9IGP2/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i03?ie=UTF8&psc=1) for our first sensory experience and the bag filled the table perfectly. So much fun. The kids were occupied for well over an hour and were very annoyed when it was bed time and they had to quit playing!

Sand trap to keeps toddlers occupied
I purchased this for my toddler since I am doing my best to keep him occupied and busy. Anything to prevent the urge to give him screen time. Well this sand table accomplishes that task for like 20 minutes. So I just need something to figure out to do for the rest of the 13 hours. This table seems pretty sturdy and is constantly moved by me without having any signs of instability. I put 25lbs of premium $$$ sand (which is another story) and seems like a good amount. States that it can hold up to 40lbs comfortably but I think any movement of the sand at that amount would cause it to spill over. One of the best features of this sand table is that it has a lid that tightens and secures it. My Wife is scared of sand fleas (which again is another story) and this keeps the boogie man away. I recommend it for a backyard for a toddler.

my almost 3yo daughter and her almost 5yo friend all enjoy this. I put this together pretty quickly although ...
UPDATE: we had some terrible storms come through and when I opened up the sandbox after the yard had dried out there was water sitting in it so my husband drilled a couple tiny holes in the bottom no big deal but this box has done very well up until those storms not holding water and/or drying out with the regular rainshowers we have had ORIGINAL: My 1yo son, my almost 3yo daughter and her almost 5yo friend all enjoy this. I put this together pretty quickly although I did have to "shave" the plastic inside one of the holes for the legs because it was warped but luckily I had a boxcutter nearby so no big deal. Used a 50lb bag of sand no problem and it dires out quickly when it rains. It comes with 2 bear claws, a shovel, a bucket and I can't remember what else but it does come with some cute accessories to get the kiddies started playing and all the included toys fit inside the sandbox with the lid closed. And the top of the lid is a car track how cute is that I am a happy mama thank you!

Good sturdy plastic, comes with lid, no drain but light enough to pour out
Bought this to fill with variety of different sensory items....rice, water beads, pasta, sticks, etc. It is good quality, comes with a lid that stays on great even in our windy backyard. I love that it is one of the few undivided sand/water tables!! Note:. It does not have a drain though it is light enough to pour out if needed

Four years, Houston sun, two HURRICANES, still looks new.
I purchased this four YEARS ago, for our young daughter. It has lived through baking sun, two moves, and two hurricanes and still looks practically new. Even the elastic straps still work. No, the lid doesn’t seal for driving rain, but it does help keep things clean. It holds 50 pounds of sand no problem, makes a great water table, and has zero cracks after all the sun and weight. I am reviewing this because it continues to be such a favorite in our backyard that children from 2 through 13 fight over the space. I am about to purchase a SECOND one and am trying to figure out how to elevate it for taller children, although no one complains about kneeling or leaning over. I fill it with Lakeshore Learning pure white sand.

Great for use as a sensory table
Purchased this to create a second sensory table for my daughter on the Spectrum, and was quite pleasantly surprised by how solid and easily put together it is. Had it assembled in less than five minutes. I also love how securely the lid fits, and that it can double as a table top for other play activities. It's the perfect height for a 2-3 year old to use standing, or for older children to sit/kneel. Large enough to hold a good amount of sand or other sensory items, but small enough not to eat up valuable floor space in our playroom or be a pain to move around if needed. Great buy!

My grandchildren 2 and 4 - LOVE this sand table
My grandchildren 2 and 4 - LOVE this sand table. They played hours and hours and hours with it. Be prepared to buy a few bags of sand however as not much of it seems to stay in the box - they love moving it. But at $4 for 50 poundsd at Home Depot, we are able to replace a lot of sand. The top kept the sand completely dry during a downpour. I am thinking of buying one of these for my own home just becauuse the kids loved it so.
