My 7'x10' utility trailer uses a 2" ball, and I like to be able to use my lawn tractor to be able to move it around the yard. I had been using a 1 7/8" ball because it was all that I could find locally with a small enough shaft to fit in the hole on my lawn tractor (John Deere L110), but the trailer would occasionally slip off of the ball since it was the wrong size. This 2" ball with a small 3/4" shaft does the job perfectly, and Curt products have always served me well. Just be aware though that the shaft is smaller than standard for a class 3 hitch and has a reduced capacity, so it is probably not what you want to put on your truck or car draw bar.

It looks great and so was the price, plus I couldn't find it anywhere else I looked local. I have my tow dolly in the back shelter but when I want to use the dolly, it has to be brought around to the front. The dolly weighs 600+ lbs and pulling by hand just wasn't working out and getting help every time isn't ideal either. So I created a mount for the riding lawn mower and mounted that CURT 40003 ball on it. The CURT 40003 2" ball with a 3/4" shank was just perfect.

The CURT 40003 Chrome Trailer Hitch Ball fits fine into my Curt hitch mount. It needs to be torqued to 160 ft. lbs. In order to torque it that much, I put it into the mount sideways and put my large crescent wrench onto the ball flat and made sure the end of the wrench was touching the ground so I didn't have to hold it. Then I proceeded to tighten the nut to 160 ft. lbs.

This is a good hitch ball that has a shank size of 3/4 inch. You can't beat the price! Will need a couple of washers for spacers to prevent nut from threading onto the unthreaded shank portion for most lawn mower style hitch plates. Looks great and has two flats on the lower part of the ball that allow you hold it for tightening.

I own a number of hitch balls, most of them rusty old messes after years of use. With a new truck and nearly new boat it was time for a new hitch ball. This one looks good and is certainly strong enough for my needs (trailers up to 4,000 lb). I've had a Curt hitch carrier for 2 years and it is strong, durable.

This was exactly what I needed for my Tractor. I wanted to use the tractor to move my small utility trailer. The 3/4 diameter bolt fit the tractor well. I would have used this on my truck without a second thought. Seems like a good quality item.

Good ball. Great price. Cheaper in cost than HF. Same quality. Its a 2" 2500 lb rated ball. Has a 3/4 shank thats 1 3/4 long with a 1 1/4 hex nut. Installed on my quad to tow around our small trailer. Ball is heaver then the quad can take.

Not much to say. It's a ball hitch. Bought here for convenience of not having to travel to store and saved a few cents.

Price is great. Brand new ball less than 10 bucks. Trustworthy brand, no worries about quality.

If you are new to hauling you have to grease this or it will squeak like crazy. This is normal but I had no idea why it was squeaking originally.
