SUV trailer hitch manufacturers mount the power plug too close ...
SUV trailer hitch manufacturers mount the power plug too close to the receiver which makes it difficult to use a normal lock either way you install it one way the pin hits the plug when trying to remove it and the other way the key it difficult to insert because it hits the plug. With this item the key insert is not facing the power plug.

Perfect, so far.
This product was packaged very well and arrived in excellent condition. And, at this moment, it is working perfectly. 5/8" fits perfectly. It is easy to access lock. Lock fits very well and easily attaches and comes off. And it is a great item for security. And it is just what we need for this area. I recommend this product for anyone and everyone.

A lock designed for Fort Knox!
I purchased this hitch receiver lock for a long distance drive I was doing with a hitch receiver bike rack. This is a very sturdy lock and seems to be very durable to the elements. I have had it in my hitch now since I bought it off amazon about a month ago. The two different sized pins came in handy. My bike hauler required a smaller pin than the 5/8" pin and the other one fit the task perfectly. The rubber cover that covers the lock is good to keep the dust and mud out and hopefully it will protect the lock from salt during the winter. I went through some mud with my SUV and I went to unlock the pin and it had no mud at all on the key hole while my entire vehicle was covered. The lock seems to be constructed very well and the key is very solid and large enough that it won't be lost easily like my previous one. This lock is easily worth twice this price if it was sold at a retail store and I would pay that price for it if I was in a pinch. I will give an update of the lock once I see how it holds up during a Michigan winter. If your looking for a receiver hitch lock, buy this one!

Two sizes one lock, very convenient.
I have taken my cargo carrier out and left it overnight in the hotel parking lot with this lock, I still have it as of today. I also have taken my bike rack out and left it outside of a restaurant for a few hours with this lock, and I still have it as of today. I'm not sure whether anybody has tried to steal it, but the lock itself is a thief stopper. I love the fact that it has two different sizes, because my cargo carrier and bike rack uses two different sizes, it is quite convenient that I don't have to buy another one and carry another set of keys, which will be lost , I'm pretty certain about it considering the fate of my other keys.

Perfect for the job at hand!
There's not a lot to rave about concerning a Receiver Lock. I bought two - one for mounting my Rack-N-Lock bicycle carrier to my car and a second to lock the bikes onto the carrier. They work fine and appear to be very much "waterproof". My only enhancement was to use a permanent marker to color lock faces and keys to match. (The keys were different for my two locks and, per Murphy's Law, I never got the right key the first time.)

it looks like this will be just what I needed
So far, it looks like this will be just what I needed. Around here, anything not pretty much welded to your truck is going to be stolen, even your hitch cover. The swivel head on the lock is very handy. We have a locking receiver pin on our car that doesn't have the swivel feature and it's more of a pain to get at. If this one holds up well I'll likely buy another one for the car just to have that feature. I've read some of the negative reviews on this product and I'm pretty surprised by them, but I went ahead and made the purchase. As of yet, I've got no reason to doubt it will be a great product and give it any less than 5 stars.

Absolutely worth the money! A must have in some areas or on long range trips!
I use this to lock my bike rack to the car and then lock my bikes to the bike rack. The lock comes with 2 keys, keep them safe!!! It also is a much quicker way to secure your bike rack or hitch packer. The ones I have come with a threaded pin with a lock nut. First off, this really isn't much in the way of security, secondly, it was a real pain to try and put it on and take it off whenever I wanted to. The lock is very easy to use. when you want to attach the lock, stick the key into it, then press the pin into the lock and it snaps closed. This is handy as you cannot lock it if you do not have the key on you. If you have it on and lose the key, you have a lot of steel to cut through. To take it off, insert the key, turn and pull the lock off. I have 2 on my jeep. on for the hitch extender to get past my tire, the other for the bike rack. I've had the first one for 3 or 4 years and I have no rust or complaints. I did etch an "A" and "B" onto each lock and their respective keys alleviating that frustration of using the wrong key.

This one is the one to get.
Well made compared to many of the ones on the market, and has weather resistant cover over the keyhole which should be mandatory on anything like this. One suggestion is to keep it lubed with a water displacing lubricant or it won't last long if you travel in rain and/or snowy environments. It sucks if the lock stops working and you have to cut one of these off because the key won't work. Also, check the water resistant cover frequently during use. Of all the ones on the market- this one is the one to get.

Good for the price.
My old hitch lock was all worn out and when I bought this I thought it was one pack. Turns out I bought three but it came in handy as a friend needed one about a week after these arrived! It’s easier to use than my old lock and seems to hold up to the quality of a master lock. Shipping was fast and quality is good.

Does it work with Yakima bike rack- YES
I bought this lock for use with my Yakima DoubleDown 4 bike rack. The bike rack comes with a proprietary 'anti wobble' screw hitch bolt, and the additional purchase Yakima branded lock is $30. This works, but it LOCKs onto the 2nd cutout spot (see my finger in the attached pic). You can not "snap" the locked lock into place. You must use the key to open up the cam and close it down to catch the cutout spot. But for $10, this MasterLoc will keep honest people honest (read other reviews regarding how thieves simply dismantle the rack and steal 75% of your bike rack -- you can buy the missing portion as a replacement part). And it comes w/2 different width hitch bolts for your other hitch-mount toys.
