Exceeded My Expectations... Works Beautifully!
I have owned several of these genuine branded "California Car Dusters" over the years and have loved them all! I was hoping they had not changed, when I placed my order for this one. Upon receiving it, the new one did not disappoint! Some other reviewers have mentioned an excess amount of wax and the duster leaving red particles behind. I had neither of these issues. In fact, I was prepared to let it air out on a bed of paper towels, but after the first night, there was no wax on the paper towels, so I decided to give it a try... My truck was VERY dusty after being in my carport in California during the (heavy) fire season. So the dust contained ash and soot as well. The duster performed like a champ! It removed the ugly layer that had settled there, left no streaks nor red particles. I love these dusters because they greatly extend the time I have between washes and makes me feel good about driving my vehicle again! One thing to note, however, is that I ordered the duster with the plastic handle because I prefer the lightweight plastic, but I received the heavy wood handle. This was not a problem in my case because I still had a plastic handle from my old duster and I simply swapped it out. Buy this duster... you won't regret it!

Love it!
Purchased this as gift for a friend for her black car that she parks in an open garage and gets extremely dusty immediately after washing it. She is loving her California Duster! I tried it on my white car and it worked so well I bought one for myself! It comes with a a plastic storage bag which we both liked. TIP: follow the instructions and suggestions here. Before using it the first time shake it out vigorously to loosen the threads and remove the excess red lint that it has when new. Also, allow it to air dry for a few days. I hung mine in various positions and laid it flat on its back as well as face down on a brown grocery bag. The purpose of this is to get rid of any extra coating that is used on the threads that make it so effective for picking up dust. Definitely recommend buying this. It truly keeps my car and my friends clean between car washes!

Perfect for My Jag!
Years ago I had one of these dusters & loved it. Unfortunately, it got lost when we moved. The new duster works as good as the old one did. Right out of the box it swept away the dust and pollen & left my Jaguar looking great. No problem w/lint or waxy streaks. I was expecting it would need a break-in period before it really did the job, but no. The pollen around here in the Spring is very heavy, but the California Duster is up to the task. I attended a car show recently & I lost count as to how many people were using the Duster. I very particular about what touches my car, but the Duster removes dust & leaves it looking like the car was professionally detailed..

It just works
I have had these things for years. Just replaced the one I had for a while and no longer worked. I sat this on paper for a few days prior to use and it works just fine. One peeve, however, is it does leave little red fibers on the car the first couple of uses. Pretty easy to wipe off with a microfiber and I know it will stop after a few uses but it is a little annoying. Other than that...no real complaints

A GOOD BUY
This is the latest purchase in a long line of previous California Duster purchases over the years. They work as intended to remove dust without scratching or marring the surface of the car. I've generally used them for 5-7 years before throwing them out for a new duster. Note: NEVER wash them regardless of the literature. Once washed, they are never the same. Just replace them.

Know how to dust furniture? This is not the same thing - follow the instructions for best results
Works just like the one I bought back when I had my dark metallic blue Chevy pickup. Why would anybody buy a dark metallic color vehicle and then park it outside? So I dusted my truck daily and the California car duster did great at picking up all the junk that fell out of SoCal air. Now we’re working at keeping my wife’s candy red car dust free and the California Car Duster does it. Follow the instructions and keep your ride looking it’s best between washes. This plastic handled unit will save you a bit; unless you’ve got a thing for wood.

Does what it is supposed to do.
Does as it claims. Set it the sun during the day and place it on paper at night for a few days BEFORE using it. Alternatively you could just wrap it in newspaper for a 4-5 days. After that, dust the car lightly and skip the car wash. I live in Arizona and most of my car washing is due to dust so less trips to the car wash.

Removes dust without scratching finish
This is my second California Car Duster and, living on a gravel road, I couldn't survive without it. (unless I wanted to wash my car everyday, which I don't) Being able to remove the dust certainly extends the time between car washes and with two dark colored cars, it's a life saver. After running it over the car, I simply shake it out and tap it against a hard vertical surface (you never see anything coming out but it seems to be the thing to do after dusting:-) ) My first one is dark from the dust but it still works perfectly, go figure! Nice that a product delivers it's promise. Love my California Duster!

Works Great - Excellent Value
The plastic handle (vs the solid wood handle) is very sturdy, probably as strong as the wood. Everything else is exactly as the more expensive classic model. I let it sit for 48 hours on newsprint, which left wax/oil on the newsprint. Then used it. It worked fine immediately, but kept getting better as I used it.

Great product!
I had to retire my old California Duster after 35 years of use because I washed it in hot water and it lost its cleaning ability by stripping off all the wax from the duster. You can wash them, but only in cold water and then allow to air dry. But from my experience, they dirtier they get, the better they clean. Weird, right!? I use this on a black vehicle and it doesn't scratch.
