Great food for older dogs, but you may need to mix it with soft canned food!
I have an 11-year-old pug dog named Babu, and we have always fed him Blue Buffalo dog food since he was a baby. We started him on half-a-cup of Blue Buffalo's Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe twice a day. Pug dogs tend to get fat with their diet and lack of exercise. However, Babu has always been in a good weight range while eating Blue Buffalo food (at around 20-lb). As Babu got older, our veterinarian wanted us to transition Babu to a senior food which has exactly the same ingredients, but less calories. We easily transitioned him to the Senior Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe from Blue Buffalo. Babu has always loved his kibble, but it was starting to get hard on his teeth. He stopped eating at one point because of this, and we had to hand feed him his kibble one-by-one (which took FOREVER)! After getting his teeth cleaned and speaking to the vet, they recommended mixing his food with soft/wet canned food. Luckily, Blue Buffalo also makes canned food, and I purchased the Chicken Dinner with Garden Vegetables. We start feeding Babu quarter-of-a-cup of kibble and mixed it in with the soft/wet canned food. The canned food made the kibble a bit softer and more manageable on Babu's teeth. Luckily, this worked perfectly, and we never had to feed Babu by hand again! He chows down his food like a champion. I want to give a big "thank you" to Blue Buffalo for giving my dog a great life and keeping him healthy for all these years!

Changed over and in a couple of weeks he was eating better and he doesn’t run me out of the house ...
My old buddy is almost 14 and was being very flatulent on the other dog food I was feeding him. Changed over and in a couple of weeks he was eating better and he doesn’t run me out of the house anymore. Wish I had changed the food years ago. Quality dog food and priced less than the other leading brand i was using. Highly recommend this product.

We finally switched her to senior blend food with glucosamine in it and she's been doing great! 13+ years old and still kicking
Our 13 year old boxer started having a very hard time moving around. After napping she had a tough time getting up, she had a tough time getting up stairs, etc. I started supplementing her with glucosamine but we have a very hard time getting her to take pills. The usual tricks don't work for her. We finally switched her to senior blend food with glucosamine in it and she's been doing great! 13+ years old and still kicking!

High Quality Nourisment for Your Fur Baby!
I have a nearly 13 yr. old Golden Retriever who adopted us almost 9 years ago. Every since she decided to make us her family, our Molly has always been enjoying the benefits of Blue Buffalo Dog Food in all of its variety of recipes. She has thrived on this quality food so that now, in her senior years, she is still robust, healthy, with a thick and soft coat of hair. As Blue Buffalo says in their ads, "If you love your pets, feed them like family."

Great for my two old dogs.
I finally found a food that my two older dogs will agree on! :D It also seems to be working well for them. One is 10 (a Newfy) and the other is 16 (English Pointer ++) - and they've been on it for about 8 months now. I think this food may have helped with the excessive shedding I was getting from both of them and they are active and happy dogs. I don't have a reason to switch unless I forget to order and can't find this locally.

Outstanding Quality
Our dog has been fed Blue Buffalo (along with treats and scraps) her whole life. We attribute her health (she's 11) in large part to her diet. We started her on Blue Buffalo at 8 months, moved her to a "lite" mixture as an adult, and now on to this senior mix. She's always loved it. I gave her cosequin chews as she aged, but about 6-9 months ago, she stopped taking them. So cosequin mixed in the food seemed worth a try. She loves it! Nothing makes me happier than seeing her happy and healthy. Blue Buffalo has been a part of that for our dog.

Dog loved food immediately!!
My terrier mix loves it. When it arrived she kept sniffing the bag and once I gave her some, she ate immediately!! Must note she is a fussy eater and surprised me that she liked it! Will continue to use it.

Works great for us!
My dog likes this. She has arthritis and was limping quite allot despite being on medication. Switched her and her slightly younger brother to this and she limps far less. Can't say for sure the food is the reason for the change, because the nature of arthritis is to have periods of remission, but I know I am going to stick with this food for her. I also noticed a reduction in fecal production with this food, for both the chihuahua and the lab. Since I have to pick it up, that is a welcomed side effect. Some folks think that is also a sign of a higher quality food, because the dog is using more of it, rather than just excreting a whole bunch of junk. Previously I had been feeding Natural Balance, but the lab didn't like it. So, before I did research, just to get her to eat, I switched to Pedigree. Both dogs liked it and it was affordable, but this is when the limping started in the lab. I hope this helps some folks.

Very happy customer
Our shelter rescue mixed terrier has been on Blue Buffalo products since we "adopted" him eleven years ago. Our vet diagnosed his stunted growth, scratching and leg biting to the point that they were hairless, as allergies. We immediately put him on Blue Buffalo products because, at the time, BB was the only grain-free pet food available. Thankfully, he immediately grew bigger from his stunted growth and stopped biting and scratching. Although considerably more expensive, even more than 11 yrs ago, he remains a healthy and happy dog. We only have to avoid the lam/rice version because he produces foul SBD farts. It really was the dog!

I have 6 rescue dogs of all ages and breeds. I started with Nurrish and they really liked it. Then noticing they weren’t as excited I went to Betond. My pups liked it but some days they were just disinterested. So I bit the bullet and tried Blue Buffalo. They eat every morsel every feeding. No need to pour Vienna sausage juice over it ( they each get one sausage as a treat). Less waste means worth the extra money. This was a little more expensive but the bag was bigger so that closes the gap. If your pet is your baby, this is the food for you.
