Nice sketchbook
My daughter loves to draw. I need to constantly buy her sketchbooks. This is a nice-sized sketchbook with thick paper. It is not full-paper sized, but half-sheet. I think this is good for her because she doesn't use a full sheet before she goes onto the next. She used pencil on it, and it didn't smear. The eraser didn't tear the page either. It's big enough to hold quite a few drawings before needing another book.

Great Quality Art Book
I got this for my son for school because they are using the bigger art sheets for art now. The book is a quality book, the cover is thick and the pages and nice and thick. The book is spiral bound and the pages are in there really firmly and are definitely not coming out unless you want them out. I cannot find anything to say negative about this book.

Durable and high quality
I love these little sketch books. I used them all through grad school for Landscape Architecture. They held up well in my backpack and on many excursions into the woods for sketching. The paper is a nice weight for sketching and is somewhat workable for materials other than pencil.

Excellent Sketching Paper with Perforated Pages
Superb sketch paper, thick and perforated so that you don't have to rip it out of the spiral binding and make a mess. It's not the whitest paper, but adequate and probably typical of most all sketching paper. I use it for all kinds of notes and freehand drawings. I'm not an artist, only wish I had such talent. It's just a convenient notebook for me. it fits on my desk and I can easily find it when I need it. Otherwise, my notes get lost at the worst possible time. I seem to find the notes after I don't need them anymore. And with the perforated pages, I can dispose of them when I don't need a page anymore.

Perfect sketchbook to take with you ...
I'm now at a point in my life where I have more time than before. I can finally pursue my love of the visual arts. I've always loved pen and ink with watercolor washes. It always amazes me how a court reporter artist can capture the essence of a situation within just a few minutes. While I don't expect to reach that level of skill, I enjoy taking this sketchbook with me and capturing thoughts, ideas, motifs. Combine this with a Sakura Pigma Micron Black pen set and a Sakura Pigma Color Brush pen set and I'm ready to take on those sketches. Some things that set this product apart from other sketchbooks: * First, it costs less than a lot of other sketchbooks. Always a good thing. * Second, it has more pages than many other sketchbooks. * Third, using my Sakura pens, I don't have any bleed through to the next page. * Fourth, the paper is micro-perforated. This allows you to quickly and neatly remove pages. * Fifth, the paper is acid-free. While it might not be archival quality it should last longer. * Finally, it's not just a "cute" size, it's VERY portable. As I said, I take it everywhere. So, I recommend this sketchbook. Your bank account will thank you as well.

Good mini sketchbook for quick doodles
Good standard weight sketch paper with a medium tooth to it. This sketchbook isn't big enough for fully fleshed out artwork, but I like to take this wherever I go to make quick pencil sketches or jot down notes and ideas whenever the mood strikes me. I have used this with graphite, colored pencil, ink, crayon, and watercolor. The paper is not really thick enough for watercolor, and does buckle, but I can't say I didn't expect it to happen.

High quality, well bound notebook with amazing page texture
My absolute *favorite* notebook. Great durability and stock. The texture is fantastic - I've been caught staring and just touching the pages before. Mediums: pen, marker, watercolor. Absolute dream for pen. Marker works and blends well, but use a spare sheet between pages to prevent bleed. Watercolor wrinkles slightly as to be expected, but it doesn't damage the paper. Ordered a Canson watercolor book for larger watercolor pieces and the quality holds up, too.

Nice Convenient Pad to Have
This pad is contains 100 quality pages, as you'd expect from Canson. The spirals are nice and large for strength and easy page turning. The pages are perforated for easy page removal. I didn't realize I had ordered a small pad (5.5x8.5) at the time but I've come to appreciate its size for easy toting and convenience when sketching. I take it with me at times where I wouldn't take a larger book and sometimes use it to plan out larger drawings.

Great Quality Sketch Pad for Dry Media
Have used these sketch pads for many years. Heavyweight 65 pound paper with nice smooth fine tooth surface for drawing with dry media such as graphite pencil, colored pencil, pastels, Conté crayon, charcoal, Sanguine, and possibly some ink pens, although I have never used ink on this particular paper. NOT FOR WATERCOLOR or other liquid media. Acid free paper minimizes yellowing over time. Media erases well from this paper (I use Pink Pearl). Sturdy, heavy double wire spiral binding makes turning pages easy and keeps them flat. Micro-perforated pages facilitates page removal in case you want to remove and frame your masterpiece (I'd recommend pre-creasing the perforation before tearing to ensure it separates as designed). Ultra-fine Sharpie with very light pressure can be used but may partially bleed through to the back of the sheet. Thicker Sharpies or application of normal writing pressure will bleed onto next page. Pencil, charcoal and pastels will smudge when pages contact one another or from normal handling, so I'd recommend a workable spray fixative like Krylon Workable Fixatif 1306 to protect your artwork. I used cheap hair spray (Aqua Net) until they changed the formula and included more water which now wrinkles the pages. Comparable to Strathmore 400 Series sketch pads except the Canson sketch pad has slightly heavier weight paper (65 pound vs. 60 pound) and is a little less expensive. Happy drawing!

Great for kids too!
My 5 year old daughter loves to draw and we often bring this to restaurants when we eat out to keep her occupied until food arrives. We also use it on longer car trips. We've been doing this for over a year and have gone through 2 of these already and working on a third. She loves it and we do too. Every once in a while we rip out one of her drawings to post on the wall. Sometimes we rip out a page for her friends to draw as well. Very versatile, great product!
