A Raised toilet seat that will ease some pain.

This is what you need for those surgeries that make it difficult to get up and down from a sitting position. This Carex E-Z lock raised toilet seat with the raised handle arms is working perfectly for me. I'll start with the Pros. Pros: It has a sturdy construction, fits my elongated toilet, the handles are in a good position for pushing yourself up, the seat is raised high, the adjustment to tighten the seat in place works well. For the price (47 bucks) very well worth it and it will last a very long time for when you need it again. With this seat, you do not need to take off the original toilet seat and lid that is already on your toilet. Leave your old seat on and just place the E-Z seat onto the bowl and tighten the adjustment. With some raised toilet seat extensions you have to remove the original seat and lid and attach to the riser. But not this one. No extra steps or work. Cons: The seat is hard. But lets face it, it wasn't made to sit there very long. It's made to do your business and get out of there. And guys, you'll just have to tuck it between your legs if your sitting there and have to pee. This is a great item to have on hand when needed for yourself or family member. Furthermore I would also recommend for comfort after surgery is a Hip Kit. Even if you did not have hip surgery, a hip kit can help you with the painful job of getting yourself dressed. Type in Hip Kit in the product search box or area take a look at the items that help you get your socks on, 24" metal shoe horn , help to lift your leg, a 32" grabber to pick up things you drop and are unable to bend and pick up and hook to help pull your pants and a long handled sponge for washing your back or back side.

It does its job so you can do yours

My ex-wife is disabled and has back issues. This is simple to put on or take off. Stable enough for the toilet. It is NOT for say holding on to when getting out of the shower, but for getting on or off the can it is study. Easy to clean. When you have to make a deposit at Smells Fargo, you can do so with the confidence you can get on and off with no problem and less pain. You won't fall on your butt, just sit on it. High enough that if you drop some big mudd, the splash won't hit you where you feel most vulnerable.

A Good Value For The Money

I bought this for my brother who had a stroke. He has one of the older low toilets. He was having trouble getting up and down from the toilet so I bought this unit because it is higher than most. Five inches as opposed to 3 1/2 inches. He got it and says it is great.

I bought this for my 98 yr old mother-in-law. She had been forced to use a porta potty because of the height. She loves this on her regular toilet now. She has no problem sitting down or getting up because of the arms on each side. It gives her a feeling of more independence and I don't have to empty a porta potty anymore. YAY! Also it arrived VERY fast!

Fits secure to my oblong toilet.

I had an accident and was not able to use my leg. I was looking for something stable to use on my oblong toilet and wanted the side handles to help my stand up safer. The seat fits great on the oblong bowl and is very secure. We did nave to remove the regular toilet seat, but will be able to put that back on when we don't beef the raised seat anymore. Unfortunately, we had to remove the handles because they interfered with the door to our small bathroom.

it's perfect, however if your bowl is elongated

Bought a second one of these for the other toilet. it's perfect, however if your bowl is elongated, it doesn't sit as secure as on a round bowl. Only a small defect! This thing saves our backs since my Aunt can now lift herself off the toilet.

Such a blessing for my dad.

We bought this for my dad and installed it on a handicap size toilet. Before the installation he had fallen in the bathroom three times. Had trouble getting on and off the seat. Since we installed the raised seat, he is able to get up and down by himself. I must mention, on our handicap toilet, it raises it too high for me. I am 5’5” and my feet don’t touch the floor. It fits my dad perfectly, he is 6’2”. Results may differ on a regular toilet. But for us, we love it. It’s a lifesaver.

just what I needed

I had hip replacement surgery and would not have been able to get up off my toilet without this raised seat. It was about an inch higher than I needed it to be. I think it would be perfect for someone 5'9" or taller. It attached very securely to my toilet. It was easy to uninstall to thoroughly clean, then reattach.

Somewhat hard to stabilize

I finally got this raised toilet seat to fit our American Standard toilet. At first, it did not secure without a wobbly feel. Once you get it to clamp properly it does fit ok and has a sturdy feel to it when you use both handles to lower yourself down. It is very high which fits my husband who is 6ft tall, but might be an issue for those who are shorter. This item is not returnable!

Makes a huge difference in toilet accessibility

Unfortunately, I had to return this before it was delivered as my mother was rushed into the hospital. I have the same kind that I purchased when I broke my shoulder and have been very pleased with it. Fortunately, I only needed one handle, as it was a bit snug for convenient wiping while sitting.
