My main reason for purchasing this kit was to paint my calipers in order to combat rust. I decided on this one based on reviews. As I am upgrading the brakes, this was the perfect time to do the painting as well. I completely removed the calipers as they were in poor condition although functioning still fine, disassembled them before cleaning them thoroughly with a wire brush and sand paper. I followed the instructions supplied with the kit, but added a step after cleaning with brake parts cleaner by wiping the calipers down with alcohol, what still removed a considerable amount of dirt. The painting was straight forward and they turned out OK. I don't blame the paint for the less than perfect result but rather the guy doing the prep and holding the brush. If I had to do it again I would sand down the calipers better and probably go with spray paint. The kit supplies a can of brake parts cleaner of which I always have a generous amount on hand, what goes for the supplied brush as well. Buying these items with the kit added to the cost of the it and it would definitely been cheaper going the spray caliper paint route, although the epoxy may hold up better. Time will tell how well the paint will protect the calipers, but they look considerably better than they did before.

I really like this product. I took off all four wheels, vehicle on jack stands. This will allow you to put a coat from caliper to caliper all th way around, each one taking about 15 min, which the recommended between coat times. So by the time your done with all four, start the second and so on. Four coats was plenty for me. By the way, I had half my paint left, so those that worry about not enough, I don't know what they are painting. I also after about six hours after the final paint coat, applied Brembo decals to the calipers. I then to the high temp clear caliper coat, sold here as well, and laid four coats over the decals. The paint is glossy enough on its own. The clear coat was only for the decals. Immediately put all four wheels back on. Let it set until the next day. I have had countless complements and queries about them already. It was very easy. Just buy a small wire brush and clean them well with the included caliper cleaner, (very hassle free). The total time including the six hour wait time between paint and decal clear coat was 10 hours. From first lug nut off, to all four wheel back on the ground. Highly recommended.

This is a complete kit - contained everything I needed to put 3 coats on my calipers. I could have applied a 4th but saw no need to do so. There is no need to remove the calipers - but removing them might make for a quicker (and easier) paint job. I recently replaced my rotors, discs, and brake lines and just didn't feel like taking them off again. Total time 4.5 hours including getting all four corners of my car up, cleaning the calipers, painting them, putting my wheels back on and lowering the car. I had more than enough of the cleaning solvent. I do recommend using Scotch Brite pads or equivalent to prepare the surface for better paint adhesion - as well as possibly providing a deeper cleaning - depending on the condition and existing finish on the calipers Great job G2!

Got this for my sons new car and debated on getting the spray or the brush on and rolled the dice on this kit. Comes with about a 1/8th of a pint of paint and some activator, brake dust cleaner and a small brush. Brake dust cleaner is about 4 bucks and the brush is worth maybe 2 bucks tops so you are paying about 48 bucks for a 1/8th of a pint of paint and some activator. BUT.....it works and its all in one kit so there is that. Clean up your calipers good with the cleaner and a wire brush, activate the paint and start brushing it on. You will have enough paint to do 3 heavy coats on all calipers...dont worry....I even had some left over. It will harden about 5 to 6 hours so after you add the activator, get to it and get it done. It does a good job of self leveling and filling in the roughness of the caliper itself. Really cleans them up and a nice sporty look to the car. Im sure if I looked hard enough I could find the paint and activator cheaper and buy my own break dust cleaner and brush...but it is what it is....if you are looking for a quick way to clean up your calipers and dont mind the cost.....this kit is great.

A fellow car freak told me to use the spray paint competitor, but the thought of paint particles floating around my garage full of cars was not appealing to me. As others have noted, planning is important if you are going to do all 4 calipers while the paint is still useable. Multiple coats are not needed but recommended, so having all 4 wheels off and prepped is critical. Working in a rotation pattern was perfect as the 1st caliper was ready for a second coat just as I had finished the 4th caliper first coat. Make sure your garage or work area is at least 50 degrees. The brush provided was high enough quality not to leave stray bristles behind. The finish you see in the pics is only 2 coats and it turned out amazing. All 4 Supras now have calipers that pop thanks to this product

Much easier than I thought it would be. Read the reviews and watched the videos, done my homework prior to starting. Used a wire brush, a dermal tool, and two cans of brake cleaner to get everything nice and clean. Bought a good brush and took my time painting. Lite and even layers, put about 5 coats on all together. Let everything dry over night before removing the paint off the letters, used chap stick on the letters before painting. Used a dermal wire brush to remove the paint on the letters. Turned out better than I thought and way cheaper than getting the baked on calipers. Mounted new slotted rotors to show off the new brake job.

Best thing you can do for your calipers. Works much better than any spray-on kind. However, even if you spend a lot of time cleaning them up, there can still be some spots on your calipers that will chip easier than others unless they're fully bead-blasted (who's going to do that, though?). They stuck much better to calipers that I really "ground down" with a screwdriver to get a nice shine to them rather than the fronts that I just wire-brushed. Note: when applying, dab on with a sponge-brush, and then use a nice bristled brush for second and third coats to get a smooth finish. I was able to apply 3 coats to the visible parts of the calipers and brackets (front and rear) and still had a bunch left over that I then used to apply a coat to all of the non-visible (when assembled) surfaces.

I used this kit on the brakes of my 2018 GMC Canyon Denali. Overall the kit is well thought out and does a great job. I applied three coats and there was plenty of paint left over and I could have applied several more coats. The only negative is the paint brush provided is poor quality. Go to Home Depot and get better ones. I ended up using two brushes. I have had brake calipers powder coated with fantastic results but this is a great DIY alternative. Bill

This system worked perfectly. I was originally planning to get my brake calipers powder coated, but I had some time over the holidays so I went for it. I watched a few YouTube videos and opted for a two part process where I painted the front calipers first and then the rear because I couldn’t put all 4 up. I did this by splitting the paint and reactor 60/40 since my front calipers are larger. It worked perfectly. But before the painting, take your time in the cleaning of the calipers and masking off the area. It will save you in the end. The brush that came with the system worked fine and I had only a few bristles come off. Have a tweezer handy. I needed a second brush that I bought from Home Depot. Other than that the product is superb. I gave it about a day and a half to dry but after one full day is fine. Applied my decals a few days later and I’m extremely pleased with the results.

After reading the reviews, I decided to buy this product and apply it to my C-Series MB sedan. I was impressed with the entire kit, instructions and results! Set aside a Saturday...set your self for success and spend the 3-4 hours cleaning your calipers, especially if you have never cleaned them before. With proper preparation, I was able to easily follow the application instructions and as you can see from the photo, the results are awesome! I applied roughly 4-5 coats. Take your time, there is plenty of paint in this kit, for multiple coats! Many washes later, the results are still great! Awesome product and highly recommended!
