Bought this SSScat to keep a can on my nice dining room table because of kitty claw scratch marks from late night escapades. Now they don't jump on the table. Have a second can at the entrance to our game room because one of the kitties like to pee on carpet and privately. This keeps all the kitties out so there are no more cleanups and because we had to replace that carpet. Not happening again! Bonus: it's funny to watch them get blasted with air the first couple times. It's satisfying if you've been trying to keep them away from something but swear they just snub their nose at you on purpose.

I gave it an "I love it" because it's a great product and does what it's supposed to do. But due to user error, I set it up at night outside of the screened in patio and didn't realize there was a sprig of grass in front of it that kept swaying in the breeze. Needless to say the swaying grass must have triggered the spray all night long and I woke up to an empty can! Ooops. Cons: It is very difficult to connect the spray device to the refill can - a two person job if you don't have the strength to push down while securing the ring. Pro: Scared the heck out of my cats and kept them away from the things I wanted to keep them away from! Like the Christmas tree for example. Have your video camera handy for the first time they experience it. Oh and it's funny to see people's reactions to it too.

This worked well in a house with 5 cats. I had to get more for other rooms and friends. It's a little pricey for refills, but not that bad. It's sensor is very sensitive. The actual sensor trigger spot it much further than it says it is. You have to work with it a little, so it's not going off everytime you walk by a doorway, but still goes off when the cat comes in the vicinity of the SSScat! It stopped my cats from attacking my plants, all of them were afraid of it. Eventually, I didn't need to get any refills, because they completely left the plants alone, even when it ran out. Just sitting there was a deterrant. I can't recommend this enough! I was finally able to raise plants indoors! Warning: you can still end up with turned over plants because this does scare the cats a bit, so when they jump up on the plant's table, they scurry away and knock them over sometimes, while jumping off. They dumped my plants about 4 times, before they learned to stay away, but it did work great after that!

This works great. Our cat likes to get up at 4:30 a.m. and start meowing for attention. Sure cats are nocturnal but we aren't and getting up that early just to pet him is no fun. We put it outside of our bedroom door and once he sets it off he will go back to the living room until we wake up. For a while he became conditioned to stay away from the can just by looking at it but after a while he figured out that it was worth testing to see if it was really switched on or not so we do have to buy the refills on occasion. Well worth the investment though. It even works for small dogs. We have a Min-Pin and when he needs training to stay away from something this works great.

First time pet owner...2 kittens....OMG I spent a fortune buying 5 of these kits but I have no regrets. My cats love to chew on some expensive HDMI cables. You set up one of these kits in front of anything you don't want your cat to touch. If they are waking me at 6am they get removed from the bedroom, door gets closed with one of these cans outside the door (to keep them from rattling it). After a bit you don't even have to activate the cans because the cats will not get near it. It does NOT hurt your cat/kitten - it just scares the bejesus out of them. I have a couple set up behind my TV sets, and in front of a plant I don't want them to eat (for the plant's benefit and the health of the cats). You can put this in front of furniture you don't want ripped to threads. I think these are way more effective than a water bottle because you don't have to be in the room for them to have a gentle reminder to stay away from certain things. I do not think they would be good for dogs though because I dog will probably have a tendency to fight back and bite the can. I can't speak for the dog owners, though. This is a must have for any cat owner who wants at least a little control in their home! :-)

So I have this cat...... His name is Leonard and he lives to destroy my stuff. No seriously. I think the devil sent him. He will knock a cup off any counter he sees. He knocks EVERYTHING off my vanity table. makeup, jewelry, perfume, you name it. I have a desk full if electronics that he thinks is his personal playground. I never realized how sharp electronics components are until I got a cat. I have bulletin boards on the wall that he takes pride in destroying. I'm really not sure how he ever figured out the bulletin board thing but, that was when I began to suspect he was satan's minion. I was at my wit's end when I decided to try SSScat deterrent spray. I have to admit, there is a bit of trial and error involved in placing the can just right. You want to deter the cat, without peeing your own pants every time you enter the room. So in the beginning, SSSCat is a "festival of fun" for everyone involved. Who will be trained first? You or the cat? Can you catch it on tape? If so, either of you could be you tube stars. One key thing, and I can't stress this enough, is not to stand between the cat and the door when this thing goes off. Mayhem will ensue. Stitches could be involved. Oh the joy...... But seriously, SSSCat really works. Set it up, stand back and let it do it's thing. It's the only thing that worked for me. It works so well, the cat sees the empty can and stays away. Although I made a joke of "getting to know" this device. It is safe, humane and effective. Worth every penny.

I cannot review the actual unit as one of my friends ordered it for me on their Prime account because I needed help ASAP! I have 2 cats--one could care less about the Christmas tree. The other "newbie" was about to cause me to have a melt down because she was infatuated with the tree. After trying all-natural remedies like orange scent, pine cones, etc etc, I opted for the SSScat. Best....thing....ever! When I first popped the can on and flipped the on switch, I waved my hand infront of the sensor, and "pssshhhh!!!" Let me say that the sound alone got both the kitties attention across the room. I thought "there is hope yet!". As I laid in bed later that night, I heard from the other end of the house "psssshhh!!!!", followed by the sound of kitty feet scurrying as quickly as their could get going across the hardwood floor. Never again has my tree been touched. Side note, it is HILARIOUS when a guest walks by and goes off. That is honestly why I need refills--I set it off every time I reach back to plug in the tree. Do not get a can of air--you need the unit with the sensor, plus this is much much more powerful.

Just doesn't get any better. My bad little cat pays no dang attention to "No!" or "Don't" or anything else. Does whatever she pleases and only runs and leaves her misbehavior when I get "almost close enough" to be a hazard. Counter surfing and terrible theft and wolfing of all kinds of inappropriate things (loaves of bread, bags of pretzels, including the plastic, etc) that a cat w/ an easily upset stomach should not be touching were a daily event. Nothing was working. I got one of these. I set it up. Walked out of the room. Bad kitten up onto counter and SSSSSSssssttttt! Airborne!! Gone!! I have only one warning: Be verrrry careful what you have near the cat's obvious landing point/interaction with Ssscatt point. I left an unsealed pint bottle of soy sauce on the counter in that danger zone. Kitten's reaction to the SSSScatttt! was very, very galvanic and violent and resulted in *hours* of cleaning soy sauce off walls, cabinets, ceilings, and deep inside recessed lighting cans in said ceilings. I had no idea how far soy sauce could fly. I am so grateful that I had been lazy after dinner, and not lazy after, let's say a pancake breakfast in which the syrup was left in the same position.... I've used this can on the kitchen counters and on the dining room table. The effect is lasting. I actually haven't turned it on in 2 weeks in either room and the bad kitten is still avoiding those zones completely. I intend to reset it this week just to make sure, but it pretty much took 3 awful experiences per surface (3 different counters in the kitchen and the dining room table) and we're done. This is after almost 4 months of me running through the house trying to "catch her" which was totally unsuccessful.

i love this thing! its great for keeping both cats and dogs away from certain areas. right now the kitty is sick (poor baby) and has to be confined to a room until he's better. this keeps him from tearing down the door and carpet trying to get out. also stops his crying all night at the door, as he's just decided it's not worth it. (i also got him the sentry cat calming collar, works a charm). keeps the dogs out of most areas too. place something behind it to keep it upright, as in the beginning the pressure in the can can cause it to fall over when it goes off. worth the money. buy a backup spray can online. doesnt come with batteries. buy 4 AAA batteries for each unit. it scares the bejesus out of me when i forget its there, lol!

Awesome!!! My cat is stubborn and was opening the sliding glass door to the patio and kept taking off! We have coyotes and snakes in the woods behind our house and others cats have turned up missing. This sprayer works awesome! The cat will not go near the door and he doesn't sit there and whine at the door anymore either! It's mostly air with a tiny bit of water most that sprays out but it is a sufficient deterrent! I highly recommend! Thank you for making a great product to keep out furry friends / family members safe! We love it! I haven't had to chase the cat around the neighborhood in my bathrobe anymore! I like to sit on the patio and have my coffee in the morning and now I can do that with the cat staying in the house. :-D I'd give 10 stars if I could. Make sure when u put the can on the base you slide the ring down to lock the can in place. It took me a minute or 2 to figure that out but it was well worth the effort.
