I have large hands, and surprised at how comfortable it is to use this cutter. It's not big enough that women w/small hands would find it unwieldy or bulky - the design is just really nice. I like that I don't have to consciously open/close the blade for safety, just squeezing the handle exposes the blade, and releasing covers the blade. Doesn't get any simpler than that. Of course you can lock the blade open, but I'm a klutz, so i opt for safety. With the original blade, I've assembled a queen quilt top involving 9 pieces of sashing, 4 border strips and a forever binding strip (haha), 42 blocks made from 672 squares & half-triangles - so its done a LOT LOT LOT of cutting, and the initial blade is still going strong. Well priced, quality product - you won't go wrong.

I had a simple straight OLFA that was really old but it still cut pretty good. But I wanted the new Pinking Blade and it only fit with this style OLFA. OMG so worth it. I know some people received the white package, sucks, I got luck and received the legit yellow. Maybe depends on shipper, PRIME? I don't have a lot of money but with my sewing needs and material I was cutting I really wanted the pinking blade, so I took the chance. SO GLADE I DID. It cuts so beautifully, so worth taking the chance, the price was to good to be true, so glade it wasn't. Sorry to all those who received the fraud ones, but OLFA is such a great product and the price is unbeatable that it is worth the risk. It went through 4 layers of flannel with ease. Try it. Worth it. Love the safety feature and the handle is so ergonomic. Had to cut 26 items out of fleece it made my job soooo easy and fast. Thank you Amazon and OLFA.

I bought this because my pizza wheel and my box cutter lived in the same drawer, fell in love, and wanted to adopt. Baby is sharp, so don't be stupid and touch the blade with your finger to see "just how sharp" when you pull it out of the package and click the safety button to make it go-live. I did not do this, but my friend, who purchased the Fiskars version of this tool, did, and he bled all over the Goodwill coat he intended to turn into cycling caps. Go ahead and order some replacement blades now, because you're going to use the h*ll outta this.

Excellent fabric cutter! I've used this on standard fabrics for sewing and for leather up to about 1/16th of an inch thick with nothing but clean results. I like how it retracts the blade automatically when not in use. Of course, you have the option to lock the blade open if desired. The thumb grooves (jimping it's called on knives) at the recess on the back of the blade offer good traction when you need to apply some pressure. I highly recommend Dahle 10673 Vantage Cutting Mat, 24" x 36", Black Dahle vantage cutting mats. I picked up a 12x18 and 24x36 on Amazon and they are fantastic.

I recently started getting into sewing (machine sewing-I’ve been hand sewing for forever) after inheriting my husband's great grandmother’s sewing machine. In trying to not buy all.the.things right away, I thought a rotary cutter was in the “would be nice, but not necessary” category. Couldn’t I just use a good pair of scissors? Then I actually tried it...not as simple as it looks! In addition, one of my first projects involved flannel and terry cloth. Cutting the first set of pieces (one piece of each) made my hands ache and took me 30-45 minutes. I couldn’t have done much more due to the hand fatigue (I have bad hands anyway). I decided to check Amazon’s prices on rotary cutters, as the cheapest one at Joann’s was at least $20-$25. Imagine my thrill at finding this one for just over $10! It came today, and I decided to see how much faster I could cut my pieces. I got the last two pieces of flannel and two pieces of terry marked, cut, and folded in about 15 minutes! It took very little pressure, and the cuts were precise, easy, and fast. And no hand fatigue! I was concerned about needing to hold the handle to keep the blade engaged, but it only takes a light grip, and because it’s so much faster, I was done long before it would have been an issue. I like that there’s a lock button to keep it either open or closed, it’s a nice safety feature. Overall, this is an amazing price on a fantastic tool. I highly recommend!

I use this rotary cutter to cut fleece when making car seat ponchos. I have found that this works very well and allows me to make a nice, straight, quick cut. I have been able to cut through 4 layers of fleece with this. However, I did have to push very hard to get it to cut through all 4 layers (works wonderful with 2 layers, though!). I have used it quite a bit and the blade does not seem to have dulled at all. I also like that you can lock the blade to prevent accidents. I would recommend getting a cutting mat with this as you will damage anything that is under the blade (such as a table)

I really like this. I have every permutation of rotary cutters, but this one works perfect for left handers. The cutter screw does NOT unscrew as you cut. Sooooo nice. Also, the blade is always protected when you set the cutter down due to the way the handle is made. Nice protection against nicks on the blade. But, the blade can only use olfa cutters with special notches. That's a slight disappointment because I cannot use my existing inventory from other manufacturers. Not a big deal if you don't have a stash of unused blades.

I bought this for a friend with arthritis in her hands, who sews beautiful doll clothes. She wouldn't buy one for herself, tethered to the good 'ol scissors. So I took a risk and purchased these for her after much researching. She was hesitant, didn't look too happy with me, but as good friends are she humored me and used them. NOW SHE IS HOOKED AND WONT GO BACK TO SCISSORS! Her hands are less pained, and she says they cut fabric like a lazer to a diamond.

I got this rotary cutter for my husband to use for trimming photos. (He was always borrowing my Olfa cutter and then when I'd want to use it the blade would chew my fabric!) This Olfa from amazon is every bit as good as the one I'd purchased from Joanne's Fabrics. It has a little "hood" over the blade lock to prevent the blade from inadvertently being "unlocked"....some of the reviewers complained about this feature, but I sort of liked it since my rotary cutters do a lot of traveling with me. I almost gave my husband my old cutter so I could keep this one for that reason. My husband has already used this cutter a lot and really likes that the blade is activated when the handle is gripped and then retracts readily. (The blade that came with this cutter is very sharp, too.)
