Consistent workhorse
Purchased in August 2010. Finally died April 2016. Worked faithfully for weekly steaming. I always used distilled water. I found steamer more convenient than setting up ironing board and waiting for iron to heat up. Takes up less space and heats more quickly. I hate ironing, and this let me work in short increments. Always felt like I had to iron EVERYTHING when I finally got out the iron. My only complaints--weight of the clothing sometimes causes steamer to lean forward when steaming--full tank of water not enough to offset it. No brakes on the wheels--rolled around the tile floor in my laundry room. Placed it on a small folded towel to help. Eventually began a "wave loop" where it steamed, then output dropped to next to nothing. Wait a few seconds and steam began again. Loop continued. Checked manual and discovered I was supposed to clean inside with vinegar periodically--had never done. First attempt made no difference. Second attempt killed the steamer. No complaints about its performance until the end. Definitely got my money's worth from this product.

It works and it is much easier and better results than ironing!
I hate ironing, but there are some garments that no matter how I wash or dry always need ironing. My pile was always huge and stayed there for a long time until I finally had to get to it. Then, a month ago, my iron broke. It was not heating anymore and I had to get a new one... Started looking on amazon for one with good ratings, but then I stumble across the fabric steamer.... Looked it up for reviews and videos on you tube to see if it was worth it. Purchased the handheld one and it was terrible. I had to fill with water after steaming half the shirt, and not to mention the terrible burning smell that was coming from the unit. Returned it. More research on steamers/iron... Then, set on this unit. All I gotta say is WOW! This thing works. Leaves my clothes so nice, better than my ironing... It's easy to use, sturdy enough for the price point and the best part is that the wrinkles does not come back after the clothes are steamed and hanged for a while. I steamed my huge pile of clothes - that was waiting to be ironed for over a month - and did it so fast! Love love love it! I went to the closet and looked for the clothes that needed some steaming and voila! Done... Now no more pile of clothes waiting for ironing... Now, regarding durability I can't say anything yet, as I just got it. I do use distilled water because here we have hard water. I'll update if something goes wrong with this unit.

Great Value- Love it!
I bought this steamer because I love thrift store shopping. Anyone who's been to a thrift store may already know that you can expect a strange odor from anything and everything you bring home. Since I "upcycle" most of the things I buy, I wanted to kill two birds with one stone; eliminate odors as well as pressing the fabric for easy deconstruction. My steamer came about a month ago and I've used it a handful of times for about 40 min to an hour every time. I am very pleased with the construction, all of the pieces and parts look well made and are fully functional. The foam pad was squished pretty badly in the box but it popped back to life in about 5 days. I must admit, I the steam definitely helps the thrift store stank but does not remove it completely, it almost seems to go away and then once the garment is cool again it comes back very slightly. I did have concerns before making my purchase, one review said that the steamer squirts hot water randomly and could wet the garment or burn the operator. Within about 10 minutes of using the steamer I figured out what happens. With the buildup of steam and condensation coating the rubber tube after using the steamer for a few minutes, this water will travel to the lowest point and sit there. The continuous pressure from the steam still being made by the machine will push the hot water out the hose with enough buildup. To remedy the situation, one just needs to make the hose straight again every few minutes by lifting the steam head high up, allowing the water buildup to drop back down into the tank. The steamer makes a noise before it shoots water out so it's easy to anticipate. SCIENCE. As far as taking wrinkles out of fabric, it works great. I would recommend this for anyone who has regular household needs. I really only need to use it about twice a week for maybe an hour. Although it would work for a shop or for someone with higher volume of steaming to do, the item was clearly designed for clothing, the range of motion allowed by the hose and extension cord are not extensive- you really can't hang something longer than the extendo-holdy pole. Overall, a great product, the only thing I might change about it is weighting the base more because as you steam, your tank becomes lighter and lighter and very thick heavy fabrics may not be held up by it anymore.

Took me six years to break this steamer
I had an older version of this steamer for years. I treated it horribly. I fed it water directly from the faucet. I cleaned it out far less frequently than I should have. I violently yanked the cord out of the wall on a regular basis. And still, it persevered - with everyday use - for SIX YEARS. It passed quietly a few days ago. I think the heating mechanism must have given out. Or it was clogged. All I know is my usual trouble-shooting tactic of turning it off and then on again didn't fix the issue. I went so far as to empty it out and refill it - and when that didn't work, I decided I'd see what the new model was going for. It was affordable enough that I figured I'd spare myself the hours of frustration I'd undoubtedly spend fixing it/ breaking it further. But the point is that I didn't hesitate to buy this steamer again. So far this updated model works just like my trusty old version. This one even protects you from the hot tube (the old version didn't have a wrapped tube, which made it kind of dangerous but also trying not to touch it was an oddly satisfying challenge). I'll treat this one a bit better. If it doesn't live up to its predecessor, I'll come back and report.

Really worth it if you hate ironing!
I cant believe it took me so long to purchase this steamer! It has literally already paid for itself in the amount of money I've saved from dry cleaning. I was spending over $100 every month to two months on dry cleaning just to have them press his clothes. My husband loves polo shirts, so I'm always behind ironing his work shirts and polo shirts. I've had a full basket of un-ironed clothes for as long as I can remember because he goes through so many and I HATE ironing. It works wonderfully on both his work button down shirts, and his polo shirts. It doesn't work that well for the dress pants because you still need the crease which requires the iron, but I don't mind doing that so much. His closet has never been so full of clothes. I like that it doesn't have the built in hanger because I just use the hanger I'm going to hang it up in, so there is no transferring. I've been using distilled water for the tank. I also had a problem with the screw on the tank, and I contacted customer service and they sent a replacement right away. I'm giving it 5 stars just because of the amount of time I've saved and because I don't have to iron so much anymore!

Bought it 4 years ago. It's still going strong after recently cleaning it out
I bought this steamer in 2013 from Amazon. It was really great the first couple years. I only steam clothes once or twice a week and it worked well for me. Sometimes the black hanger connection falls off but not often. For the last couple years it doesn't produce much steam. I was about to throw it out until I read a review of this steamer in which the reviewer recommended opening it up and cleaning it out. I don't know why I didn't think of it. I tried to clean it out before by dumping the water and opening the drain hole with no luck. So I decided that I didn't have anything to lose. I removed the bottom, took off the tubing and yep... it was completely clogged with sediment. I use filtered water most of the time but not always. It was packed. So it stopped working well because it couldn't get the water from the reservoir. I used a little silicon caulking left over from a different project to reseal the tubes. After putting it back together it's going strong. I just saved myself $50 since I didn't have to buy another steamer and peace of mind that I won't be adding to this item to the city trash heap!

Paid for itself after a month of use, no more dry cleaning or pressing!
Use this every week. Recommend that you use distilled water. I used tap and sediment built up in the water area. Easy to clean out if this problem arises. Bought this instead of the smaller hand held one. Has paid for itself very quickly. Used to take my mens dress shirts into the dry cleaner to press every week ($2/ shirt) and it was getting expensive. Tried to iron my shirts but failed miserably. This steamer is very easy to use and steams my shirts flawlessly.

instant warm up!
This steamer works really fast and efficiency is the main quality of this kind of steam ironing. to assemble upon opening box is really easy and no need for tools or strong person to do it... The pros: 1.- heats up within a minute. 2.- head is not too wide but enough to get it inside large sleeves or pants. 3.- long lasting tank of water to steam at least 20 regular size pieces without need to refill tank. 4.- Small footprint that will fit any corner of closet or laundry room. 5.- Cord and plug are very sturdy and feels safe to keep it plugged at all times, even if you accidentally pulled the unit away from wall outlet. 6.-Good quality for the price when your budget is "on watch". The Cons: A.- wheels are so easy to roll that will move the whole unit with any touch or light pull. B.- Hose will be too hot during steaming that will burn your hand or arm if not careful. C.- hose headrest hook is on the tip or pole that will make unit so unstable if you want to go fast when using it. It would be a good idea to place the hook in the middle on a side bar. ( but that would be a re-design from the steamer maker)

Worked great on wedding dress
I've never had a steamer before. I bought this to steam my daughter's wedding dress. I watched several you tube videos and read many of the amazon reviews. Most helpful tips were 1) to steam from inside out using the weight of the fabric to help the dewrinkling process and 2) to put a thin white sock over the head of the steamer to catch any droplets of water that might come out. I did both of these and the wedding dress turned out great. I even did one of the bridesmaid's dresses at the last minute. I took the removable brush off for the satin dresses. - The steamer works great on my sweaters and knit shirts. On my husbands woven cotton dress shirts, it works OK on the flat parts, but doesn't give a crisp collar. I think it would be faster to iron his shirts.- Just for kicks I tried some cleaning applications, even though it is not it's stated purpose. I put a heavy cotton athletic sock over the head of the steamer, sprayed some all purpose cleaner on my tile, and used the sock covered steamer to go over it. The sock was very dirty after a few passes, but who knows if it would have been the same if I had just wiped up the spray without the steamer. I like to think the steam helped. - I just ran the steamer, with the brush attached, over a cloth couch. It did a nice job of making the nap go in the same direction. And maybe the steam helped disinfect.

Works great, I use it almost every day
Works great, I use it almost every day. It cannot handle heavily wrinkled 100% cotton or linen fabrics very easily, but it works great for light to medium wrinkles in most fabrics. Only use my iron now for table linens. I steam all my laundry now and it helps me to wear almost all of my wardrobe now since I can easily just de-wrinkle individual items in less than 2 minutes in the morning before putting them on. With a traditional iron, I would have to set up the ironing board and wait for the iron to get hot which never worked in my small space. But with this all I have to do it turn it on, and in a few minutes it is ready to go. Wrinkles are worked out quickly for most lightweight fabrics and knits. It is easy to use. I will caution that it gets VERY hot so be careful. Make sure fingers are not in the way of the nozzle. Blistered myself a few times when I used it.
