We have an older RV with an awning that is not automatic, so we have it set out with the arms down. When it got a little windy, the edges of the awning would flap a lot, scaring me that one day it would tear free and go flying. With these installed, I feel much more confident that it isn't going anywhere. It holds them in place, reduces flapping almost completely, and makes it feel more solid in the wind.

Never realized that our awning sagged as much as it does. This does the trick! The length of the straps are a little short, but we made do. This also can be used as a way to hang items from the bar on the side of the awning. Nothing with any real weight, just simple things. Beats using clothes pins on the awnings!

We have an old and worn (and repeatedly patched) awning on our camper. I always would get nervous when the wind would start the awning flapping. These "de-flappers" work great. Because I'm so worried about our old awning ripping at the camper-edge mounting point, I bought two more kits for a total of six de-flappers (i.e. three go on each side). Now the only time I worry is when the wind picks up so strong that it's the overall "sail" of an awning that is the problem. The flapping on the edges is now a thing of the past. One usage note: I don't crank these down as tight as I could when I put them on the fabric. I discovered that if they have a little play, they will work themselves off in severe situations. Sort of a built-in blow-off valve. When it gets that bad, it's time to drop the awning, in my opinion. If you have a healthy awning fabric and really want the de-flapper to stay on, crank away! They'll hold (though your awning may not.).

We were a bit sceptical since they arrrived with bits of dried grass in the velcro. We presumed that they had been returned. However, we finally had the opportunity to use them. Upon arriving at our campsite yesterday we installed them and a storm blew through last night. They worked wonderfully. We didn't have to go out in the rain to lower the awning as we previously did. Very pleased with this product. They are easy to install and seem to be durable.

I bought two pairs just in case it gets really windy so that I can put one close to the trailer and one close to the outer end of the awning on each side, but most of the time one on each side centered along the length will do the job just fine. They're well built and easy to put on/take off. I like how wide the clamps are because they really seem like they spread the force out and won't damage the awning fabric.

If you are going to use deflappers to help control your awning on windy days, the DeFlapper Max is the best one to get as it controls a larger area and has a better strap than the original one. These will not work on newer awnings as there is no place to connect it properly. I definitely recommend them for those of us with older-style awnings.

I have used the original De-Flappers for years, you know the little wimpy ones. I have had them pull off, break, get loose, even had the fabric straps break. I bought a bunch of extra ones thinking as the quote goes, "quantity has a quality all it's own." Then I got these monsters last camping season and used them a lot, I'm talking several weeks, in some high winds and also with an occasional heavy wet snow load up in the mountains. I could not be happier with these. I read one review saying they weighed too much. They do weigh a lot, but I don't think that is a bad thing. They weigh a lot because they are truly heavy duty. When you open the box and inspect the de-flappers the weight will be noticeable. It says right in the product description they measure 3 x 7.3 x 12.5 inches and weigh 1.8 pounds (each), shipping weight is 6.2. I can't understand how someone can order something where the weight is disclosed and then complain about the weight; oh well. I also read reviews saying the knobs come off and I was naturally leary about this. If the knobs have a propensity to do this it has not been seen on my units and I put a lot of torque on them. I know that if the large rubber knob(s) does come off I will simply weld a piece of steel to the head of the bolt (example: link from a chain would work perfectly) and crank it down. When others I camp with saw these de-flappers they purchased some themselves. If knobs have come off I haven't seen such. I saved the little de-flappers in case I need them. I have never used them since I got these monsters. Wish I had gotten them earlier.

Another great Camco Product! I bought two pairs of these to secure my awning. It's old and is starting to tear so these are a great band-aid until we can replace it. Last camping trip we experienced some wind and while other awnings flapped around mine stayed perfectly still! Too cheap not to keep a pair just in case.

I didn't expect much when ordering these so was pleasantly surprised when they really worked! My RV is a 1995 27 ft trailer with original awning that I wanted to protect from wind damage. We have had lots of wind since I installed these deflappers and they hold tight! Super easy to install too! Last week we had a downpour of rain one evening. The next day my awning was drooping from the rain it held...but the deflappers held tight! So impressed! Highly recommend!

These work great!!!! We just got a used camper and the wind at our mountain land is crazy. These really help the wild flapping and also protects the awing from ripping off the camper completely! Great buy - use them every time we go. Easy to install quickly. TIP: Install them before you raise the awning up high. Otherwise you will need a ladder.
