HUGE floor puzzle

I bought this item for my grandkids to play with when they're visiting. My 4 year old granddaughter and I have sat down multiple times to put it together and she loves the process, loves showing everyone what she made. It takes her and I about a half hour to assemble; once finished, she is ready to put it back in the box for the next time. Made of thick, sturdy cardboard; each piece is nicely sized so I imagine we will have this item for a long, long time. A multitude of animals in the illustration helps enable a young child to assemble, however with assistance.

Another winner

My 2 year old goes NUTS for puzzles, and Melissa & Doug do them right. We had a 48 piece floor puzzle and he has it memorized, so we thought we'd try the 100 piece. Only 2 months shy of his 3rd birthday so we worried the ages 6+ might be too complex for him, but the pieces are sturdy and the picture is unique so he had no trouble memorizing where the animals should be. Now it keeps him busy every morning! The only flaw is they don't have a photo telling what all the animals are. The 48 piece Dinosaur puzzle tells you the names of the dinosaurs. (cute to hear a 2 yr old saying "dromiceiomimus" and "parasaurolophus") but this one has some birds and cats we aren't sure of (ocelot?)

Awesome puzzle

Melissa & Doug make the best gifts for kids! I got this for my 4 year old niece who looooves puzzles. She loves how big this one is. The pieces snap together easily and you can slide them across the floor without them breaking apart. She is enjoying doing this puzzle over and over again.

High quality: artwork, durability, and size are all win!

This puzzle is large and fun for my 5 year old to put together on his own. The pieces are sturdy and well made. The picture quality is good and the artwork is lovely. It's really everything I could want in a puzzle. If you're wondering how these hold up, my friend is currently using one that I handed down to her 12 years ago from an older child. Still in good shape.

7yr old son loves it!

I have been trying to buy toys for my seven-year-old son that uses brain a little more, trying to go away from action figures cars and guns more into chess and other strategy/thinking toys. I was hoping he would at least like it, but I was absolutely impressed with how much he enjoyed it. He has solve this puzzle probably at least 10 times. And I was also very impressed with the size of it, it is pretty large and that was the best parts. He loved us so much he asked me to tape it up, I used clear tape, and so he could hang it up on the wall

We've always LOVED M&D products in our household

We've always LOVED M&D products in our household, and this is no different. The pieces are thick & sturdy, with a glossy finish. All of the pieces fit together perfectly - no imperfections. Just enough of a challenge for moving up from 24-45 piece puzzles, but still bigger, chunkier pieces that aren't too hard to place. My son loves the images, too. Very detailed, with a large number of animals, and an impressive 4 ft wide finished piece. This was a GREAT value, as well, especially with M&D quality. Definitely a hit!

Review of the Melissa & Doug Safari Floor Puzzle

The Melissa and Doug Safari Floor Puzzle is enjoyable, challenging and educational to put together and has great colorful illustrations and pictures of all the different groups of animals - on safari- in Africa. I have purchased 3 boxes of this puzzle as gifts for my friends and their children in Ghana, West Africa - where I perform tropical medicine research on a project with the JHUSPH. I very much appreciate and thank the group that put this puzzle together and offered it for purchase.

Great 100 piece puzzle

Great quality puzzle. Fun for family with small children. Read carefully. I did not. This came up in my Amazon search for 1000 piece puzzles. The puzzle is actually only 100 large palm-size pieces. Even though it's not what I wanted and I opened it so I could not return it. I have to give it a five star rating because of the quality, speed of delivery, etc. There was no false advertising and it's a great 100 piece puzzle.

Very nice!

Brain lesions caused brain seizures last year and I am relearning how to do many things - puzzles, like this, are visually interesting and slightly challenging, for me to be able to enjoy and understand the puzzling.

Great puzzle - challenging, but not impossible for a toddler

We really like Melissa & Doug puzzles and got this one for our 4 year old who loves puzzles. He need one that was a little more challenging and this was perfect. More pieces, but they aren't really small in size. It took him a while - and some help - to figure out (which is good) and he's done it several times since then.
